This was a really fun way to get to know some of Tucson's history and landmarks. Monk was a terrific storyteller and very personable.

Sarah, thank you! Monk is a natural when it comes to bringing Tucson's history to life. From the Hotel Congress to the stories that most visitors never hear, he has a way of making you feel like you're discovering this city for the first time. So glad the tour was a fun way to get to know Tucson.

I have done a lot of ghost and history tours (London, key west, Baltimore, and more). I was excited to hear about Tucson’s history. Monk seems like a great guy and was very personable. You can feel he has a lot of passion for what he does. However, this tour was lackluster. I’m not sure if it was because there aren’t a lot of stories to tell, but it seemed that he didn’t have a lot of great material to share. I also felt he talked a little too long - my mind started wandering. I really wanted to like this tour but I just wasn’t feeling it and left disappointed.

Carolina, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, and we really appreciate you bringing experience from ghost tours across the country. Monk is one of our most passionate guides, and we're glad that came through. We're always working to make our Tucson tour the best it can be, and feedback from experienced tour-goers like you is incredibly valuable. We'd love the chance to exceed your expectations on a future visit.

I've taken ghost tours in the Washington DC area, Charleston, Seattle, San Francisco, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and San Diego. I enjoy ghost tours not because of the supernatural, but because they tend to cover an area's unique history, quirks, and culture. I went on the Ghosts Of Downtown Tucson Haunted History Tour with tour guide Monk in December 2025. He is a friendly, enthusiastic tour guide. That night, the tour group was comprised of 6-7 very friendly adults, and we were all paying close attention. I believe we were a good, captive audience for the tour. Unfortunately, I don't think Monk had a lot of strong material to work with; there probably is not enough interesting history in the Downtown area to develop a top notch tour. While we learned a little about Downtown Tucson, the stories were not very memorable. I wish the tour included a deeper dive into Tucson's unique history, but in Monk's defense, there may not have been enough unique history to draw from. To be transparent, I prefer a "nerdier" or more academic/adult tour over a melodramatic tour. I talked to a few other tour attendees who felt the same way. I've been on ghost tours that were much more memorable than this one, but nevertheless, I'm glad this tour is offered, and I am glad for the chance to learn a little about the city. At the very least, it's a fun way to walk the city at night with a friendly group.

Regina, thank you for the thoughtful review. With ghost tours from DC to New Orleans under your belt, we really appreciate you sharing your perspective. We're glad the Tucson history and culture came through, and that the evening was a fun way to spend 90 minutes. Feedback from experienced tour-goers like you helps us keep raising the bar. We hope to welcome you back to see how our Tucson tour continues to evolve.

This was great! I’ve lived in Tucson my entire life and still learned lots of new lore on this tour. If you’re into history and ghosties definitely recommend.

Kia, this is exactly the kind of review we love. When a lifelong Tucson local still learns something new on our tour, that tells us our guides and our research are doing their job. Glad you discovered some new lore in your own city. Thanks for joining us!

Monk was great, had a good time, totally recommend! Glad we had a smaller crowd able to ask questions on fly.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you! Monk is great with smaller groups because it turns the tour into more of a conversation. Glad you had the chance to ask questions along the way and that you had a good time. We appreciate the recommendation!

Monk did a great job story telling and providing interesting history. This was one of the few tours available in this heat so we are glad he was willing to work and entertain us.
