We had a wonderful experience with Yumi as our guide. She was so pleasant and knowledgeable! The group we traveled with was so much fun. The wine experience was varied in types of facilities, which was vey interesting and educational! We thoroughly enjoyed all of the places we visited and the picnic lunch was perfect! What an amazing day! Hope to do it again sometime!

We had a wonderful day in the wine country of Santa Barbara County. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the wineries in the area, and took us to three small, family owned wineries that produce small batches of excellent wine. We even had a presentation on the whole process, from grape to amazing wine.
We really enjoyed the tour and brought home a number of bottles.
I highly recommend Rooted Vine tours, and would not hesitate to book another tour with them!

We had such a great time on this tour! We came in knowing next to nothing about wine and very little understanding of the tasting palette. By the end of the day we had learned so much and had a ton of fun doing it!
Yune was our guide and she had a great working knowledge of the vineyards, the cultivation/growing/producing process, and she was always engaged with the group. She also did a wonderful job of helping the different couples get to know one another.
Another great thing about this tour was that there was no crazy drunken party people on it. It felt like a fun, sophisticated, learning experience that had us feeling like we had made friends, learned a ton, and did it leaving us full on wine!

Great tour and excellent experience. Our tour guide Yunee was amazing, super friendly and very knowledgeable. She provided a good amount of background information about the winery and tasting rooms visited. Even took and texted pics. The number of wines tasted was plentiful, good, and the farm to table lunch was amazing. Plus you get a scenic drive through the Santa Barbara surrounding area.

Yunee was amazing! We had such a good time and it was the perfect day. We visited a tasting room, a vineyard, and a production facility, which gave us a very well-rounded feel of the wine produced in Santa Barbara. Lunch was also very delicious and super fresh, definitely hit the spot. Would definitely recommend!

Best day ever. Worth every penny! Yunee was an excellent guide, narrating the scenes of wine country as we drove through the hills of Santa Barbara. It was a great way to get private access to wineries and get to actually speak with and learn from the dedicated wine makers about their craft. Neither of us are too experienced in the world of wine, but we felt like we had the chance to really try so many different new things! Lunch was delicious, views were breathtaking, and the whole experience was perfectly curated. The pick up and drop off directly from our hotel was the icing on top!

This was such a fun way to spend the day in Santa Barbara! We went to three different places and really liked each one. There were beautiful sights to see at each stop as well as on the drive. Iaon is super knowledgeable as well as personable and made the day flow great. We had never really drank wine prior to this tour, so I definitely think this experience is super fun whether you drink wine regularly or not!!
Highly recommend this wine tour.

We visited three excellent wineries and sampled 20 different wines over the course of the day. We also had a delicious and big picnic lunch at one of the wineries to help with processing all that wine! We learned a lot about the winemaking process by meeting some of the winemakers. After the tour, we have found wines from two of the wineries on the wine lists of some very nice restaurants. Yunni was our tour guide and she educated us on the area and the wineries before we arrived at each one and gave us her recommendations on places to go in Santa Barbara on the way back. It was a great day!

An excellent way to see the vineyards and wineries of the region- a very knowledgeable guide who made the day fun as well as informative. Stopped at 2 vineyards with tasting as well as another tasting room- with a great selection of wine. The lunch provided was also excellent. Would definitely recommend this trip!

Hello John,
We’re sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with Viator’s cancellation policy. Your booking was for our group shared tour, which requires a minimum of three participants to operate. Since your reservation was made the day before and we did not meet the required minimum, the tour was canceled promptly within 10 minutes. We sent a cancellation email and attempted to call you, but we did not receive a response until 9:30 AM on the day of the tour.
To accommodate you, I personally offered a private wine tour at a discounted rate, which you declined. I also extended a discount for a future wine tour as a goodwill gesture. Unfortunately, third-party booking platforms like Viator and TripAdvisor take a 25% commission, which makes it challenging to operate tours with low bookings. However, we never cancel tours booked directly with us.
In our 13 years of business, we have only had to cancel five tours. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to host you in the future. As a token of appreciation, mention this review when booking directly with us to receive 10% off your next tour.

This wasn’t just wine tasting, but also an education. We’re not strangers to wine tasting, but this was informative and personal. Visiting smaller, family owned wineries snuggled amidst lush countryside was an unexpected treat.
