Had a super time shaping clay into bowls, plates and vases, and had fun creating great memories with one of my best friends. Everyone there was genuinely friendly, helpful and made it a great experience. I’m looking forward to coming back to make more.

Educational, and a GREAT experience for two novice seniors. Had the opportunity to make five pottery pieces, and shop in their gallery filled with lovely pieces. Robin, Arron and Liz are amazing artists, with passion for their craft.

Girls Trip highlight.

Studio was welcoming. Instructors were patient and kind and never took over your project. They would always ask to step in and help. Parking can be tricky.

Very fun beginner’s group...

Very fun beginner’s group pottery class. You keep what you make. They offer glazing for an extra fee. You can pick up your creations in a week or have it mailed to you.

So Much Fun!

Katy_G, Sep 2025
It was a very instructive class - and the best time ever! I took my friend for her birthday, and we both can't wait to go back! We made bowls, cups, a vase, a ring holder and three sizes of votive holders (all would be great gifts). Also, The lovely people who work at Firestick Pottery were so patient and kind. (Thanks Ella and Aaron!) We very much look forward to displaying and using our ceramic "art" proudly. You won't regret taking this class, I promise.

Fantastic family activity.

Rozita_Y, Aug 2025
Fantastic family activity. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. We all developed a great appreciation for pottery making. You get to make 5 pieces each and will have to go back to glaze the pieces.

Fun way to spend a few hours alone or with others

Alicia_H, Aug 2025
Fun way to spend time doing something a little less touristy either alone or with others. Does get messy but all washes out. The teacher was great. Patient

Learn something new!

Kelly_L, Jun 2025
You get 5 balls of clay to work with, so if all goes well you could end up with 5 pieces. We live to far away to complete the kiln/glaze process, but will be excited to see our final work! The completion process is $15 per piece and we picked our best ones! The teachers (Erin and Aaron) were VERY helpful!

Great introduction to pottery

Lesli_D, May 2025
This was a great introduction to pottery making. Wonderful, patient instructor - fun activity for my husband and me!

Highly Recommend

Patrice_P, Mar 2025
This was an excellent experience. A highly skilled professional potter, our instructor was knowledgeable and very patient with us first-timers. We each made several pieces that the team at Firestick will finish and ship to us. This was seriously a lot of fun. Highly recommend!

Awesome experience!

Awesome teachers and location! Myself and 10 yr old daughter successfully threw multiple pieces with the helpful guidance of a friendly crew at the studio.

Horrible Customer Service, Care and/or Concern

Landon_M, Oct 2024
My mother has terminal messtastic breast cancer, throughout her bones etc. Was looking for things to do. Since she using a wheelchair, I thought this might be something new she could enjoy on our trip to Solvang. Later realized the place isn’t ADA compliant-not wheelchair accessible and she probably wouldn’t be able to do it. When I realized this, it was the night before (bought it on line late the night before seeing the lack of accessibility (not even 24 hours later) they were closed. Called first thing in the morning. Spoke to a nice woman who said the office to do refunds didn’t open until 10 and made is sound like I would be refunded. I apologized 2x taking responsibility for my part in this (ordering late, getting off work after they closed thereby missing the “cancellation window-in part because I bought the tickets late at night, the night before. Anyway, she voiced understanding etc and said I would get an email when the office opened and processed my request she submitted. Instead got not ONE but TWO “sorry denied your request” emails. I responded to the first explaining my part in this, apologizing again and said I didn’t originally see the very bottom of the web page saying no wheel chair accessibility, not for people with this limitation or that one etc. That’s when I got the second email that says they reviewed everything and “refund denied.” So, I figured I had to eat the $130. Ok with it because it was my fault I ordered late at night, worked the whole next day and not u til home, excitedly reviewing location, hours etc so we could leave in the morning, that I realized the problem. Why I am leaving this negative review however is because i didn’t just blow off the event and choose not to go or forget or whatever. There page said “wheel chair” inaccessible. That’s a then problem. Yes, I didn’t see it. That’s important info. Maybe that should be a disclaimer before payment is accepted??

Fulfilling experience

Whitney_B, Sep 2024
We were pleasantly surprised at the time we had to create 3 pottery items with the wisdom and support of 2 patient instructors. The wheels are electric and easy to use. The instructors helped with centering if needed and gave advice on the various vessels people were working on. They’ll trim the pots and we can come back and glaze them, or they’ll finish and send them. We paid $15/piece. There was also tons of pottery to buy if desired. Great experience overall!

Family trip

Loved everything. The instructors were so helpful and knowledgeable. They were so patient and helpful to our kids and guided us to make our own fun creations.

First time pottery throwers

Howard_F, May 2024
First time experience throwing pottery. We were given five balls of clay and we tried to make a bowl each time but even with the help of our three instructors turns out as a first time potter making a bowl is more difficult than it looks.. Hilarity followed as clay spun out of control, but did end up with 2 cups.

Weekend Getaway

Patricia_E, May 2024
I shared a weekend away with my three daughters and this was one of the surprises I’d planned. The girls were excited when we showed up for the class. We had a great time, learned a lot, and can’t wait to pick up our finished pieces. We also gained a new appreciation for pottery and the artists who create it. Thanks for some great memories!

Fun with Teens

Beth_C, Dec 2022
Great fun with teens, granddaughter and niece. Super helpful instructors! Can’t wait until the pottery is trimmed and finished!

So much fun

Eva_S, Oct 2022
My bestie and I had never taken pottery and these people were outstanding. I cannot say enough for how do-able they made the process and fun as well. Gentle instruction, encouraging and wonderful results. The entire staff was great, and Rosemary and Jeff especially added to the experience. Don't hesitate.

Our instructor, Rosemary....

Joyce_L, Sep 2022
Our instructor, Rosemary. Knowledgeable, patient. Nice workshop/space. Tour of how pottery is; very interesting

Fun, creative and Educational

Joy_F, Mar 2022
The teachers were great! Very helpful and encouraging the whole way through. Pottery was such a fun and enjoyable experience. We will be back

Stressful but I ended up having fun somehow

Helena_B, Sep 2021
This was a “play with clay” class, but we were not really allowed to play. We were given a quick tour and fairly detailed instructions for beginner potters and then went ahead and started. However whenever we made any mistakes we were chastised and the instructors took over and essentially made our pieces themselves. The owner (?) also made things far too complicated than necessary regarding the glaze colors. All the personalities were not compatible with teaching for sure.

My Fiance' was good at pottery!

Mia_L, Aug 2020
Had an excellent experience for my first time with pottery with my Fiance' for his birthday. The Staff was very good at what they do and I would recommend this place to everyone.
