Wine tasting with a little bit of history. “Paranormal and ghost” is a stretch. The stories were rambling, and not well told. We also had a substitute guide, who was very nice, but not the owner of this tour. Just not very good, and not worth the price nor the 2.5 hours.

My goodness, I am so sorry that you perceived your "Paranormal Pairing Tour" experience to be so unpleasant.
This is a "history and mystery" ghost tour.
It is based on sharing stories told by local residents or guests on our tours which have had experiences. As we are the "City of Friendly" ghosts they do often do activity, but the timing to do so is theirs, not ours.
Hopefully, the gift certificate given (while I am away) to any "Paranormal Pairing" wine tasting guest for a FREE "Invisible Made Visible" walking tour (by the end of 2024) will make you feel better.
Remember, each of you received this as a "surprise" from me (along with your gift of a bag of treats) at the beginning of your tour.
The value of this non-transferable gift certificate is worth 55.00 for each gift.
My hope is that this gift for each of you may help you have another more positive experience in the future..
What you may not be aware of is that the cost of your tour includes per ticket cost of 45.00 for winery costs, including tastings and a 10.00 gratuity (not for my company) for their pourers.

We were fortunate to be the only two on our 230 tour and Julie was wonderful at sharing wonderful historical mixed with paranormal anecdotes. She shared photos and videos to bring the stories to life. Julie is a big advocate of Santa Barbara, it's history as well as current day and future. One of the best ghost tours we've done, two big thumbs up. Before the tour we had a good conversation about our paranormal experiences and wine tasting too.

I really liked how many different places we walked to and how it all flowed together into one experience. It was also super personalized in that everyone could contribute to the conversations on the tour.

This was a very disappointing experience. I did similar tours before in various states. This tour was “false advertisement”. We didn’t received “snacks or nibbles” as was advertised. We got Halloween candies. No wine tasting at all. Only one glass of wine from a bar (menu priced $10.00) The story telling was good at the beginning. After two stories the content shifted to personal stories.

This is not true.
You received the full tour despite your showing up a day earlier than you had booked.
I did not have to give you a tour (as I was giving another tour at the time) but I wanted to be kind to you and your group, especially when you said " We need to do it today, as I made a mistake and booked the wrong day."
I was not notified by Trip Advisor until I returned home as a I was giving a tour when you contacted Trip Advisor to tried and change the day of your tour.
You just showed up expecting a wine tour as the winery was closing.
All wineries require reservations (which I had made for your group for the day you booked which was Sunday) and had to cancel immediately as they expected you as their guests and had a table set aside for your group.
I graciously gave you the 1.5 hour tour and then I took you to Jimmy's (The Pickle Room known as the most haunted bar in Santa Barbara.) for a 15.00 a cocktail or glass of wine (tax and cost of drink).
Every wine tasting or cocktail tour includes a ten dollar 10.00 tip per person not for me, but for the bartender and/or wine or cocktail serving staff.
After showing up a day earlier than you booked for (as well as receiving a full ghost tour, a cocktail and the FREE gift bag) you tried to get a FULL REFUND telling Trip Advisor that you and your group never had a tour or alcoholic beverages.
You should have reached out to me to discuss your issues and I would have given you a reasonable future solution.
By the way, the gift bag was AGAIN, a free gift from me as the owner.
Yes, your little bag was full of candies and cookies and it did have a special protection bag with antique spiritual contents within it...and all of the contents of the bag were FREE GIFTS from me.
You were very inconsiderate of my other guests who came on the night they booked. These guests warmly welcomed your group folding into our existing ghost tour.

The tour was conducted in two parts. The first part was at a winery where we had a full tasting and some of the ghost story history was told and the 2nd part was the walking tour where we actually encountered some experiences that were really exciting. I was very pleased at the end of it all. The host was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and made the experience engaging!

This tour requires historical background when discussing our visiting ghosts. As you learned, we have four varied and rich historical periods. These periods of time require unique setting of the scene of their life stories from their moments either as Chumash, Spanish, Mexican, and United States souls.

The wine at the beginning was fantastic! The tour host really took that time to get to know everyone and share their own personal stories. The waitress at the winery was very informative of the wines and it’s history as she came out to pour a small glass. The rest of the tour was fascinating. Learning about some of Sant Barbara’s historic structures and ghost sightings reported by the locals kept me engaged to know more. The host was very knowledgeable of the area and the story behind each ghost. Definitely worth the visit to try something new!

I was delighted to be treated to this tour on the eve of my birthday while my Mom was in town visiting. Prior to having my own paranormal experience I was both a scaredy cat and a skeptic but I have sense learned that spirits do exist. Julie has a wealth of knowledge and is a phenomenal story teller. She speaks of ghosts as if they are close friends and invited us into their lives which were many years before our time. I did a double take several times on this tour and felt that we were accompanied by more than the people on this tour and on the SB streets. Looking back at the photos I took, there are certainly images I can’t explain. I loved this experience and the gift bag we received. My sister wants to go on a tour when she comes to town and I know she will love it! Thank you so much, Julie. I now see Santa Barbara in a whole new way and feel compelled to read more about its history.

I'll start 1st with, the winery we met at was super yummy. It was fun and interactive and we had a good group of ladies. Then the tour started. It was fun, cute ghost stories and the locations where these ghosts can be found was fun. Our guide was such a sweet girl.
The down side, i was thinking there would be more. For the amout we paid, i kind of expected another wine tasting, as 1 tasting and a 20min ghost tour for this amount, is not worth it to me. Side note: They did say, the night tours are more fun, so try the instead of the day tour 🤷♀️

My apologies that you did not have your expectations met.
I would like to break the costs down for you for the "Paranormal Pairing Ghost Tour."
It is actually a great value.
The cost for each tasting includes the snack gift bags, card for a free walking tour for you in the future, and "tips for the staff" at the winery are covered by the 35.00 you pay to go to the winery vs. the regular night tours which are 55.00 per person. Also the percentage of booking agencies 20% was not factored into the fixed costs mentioned.
Now for the breakdown of the 2 hour Wine Tasting Tour vs. 1.5 hour Walking Ghost Tour:
The wine tasting portion of your tor should have 60 minutes for introductions, ghost storytelling and time to go to the restroom before a 60 minute walking ghost tour.
Additionally, every guest who goes on the wine tour is offered a free 7 or 9 tour automatically by your guide with a card which is in your SBGT gift bag. It has a cell number on it text when you are next in town.
Were you told about this surprise special gift which we share with all Wine Tasting guests? If not, please look inside your gift bag and know that this is your "ticket" for your future free walking ghost tour. The Grassini winery is a wonderful place to sit, sip wine, and start your ghost story experience! We had never tasted Grassini wines, so this alone was a nugget of gold! They will hold your purchased bottles for next day pick up, so you don’t have to carry them on the walking portion of the tour. Julie is also a nugget of gold! She is such a pleasure to meet, and a wealth of historical information! The ghost stories are the icing on the cake. If you are open minded about the possibilities of spiritual visitors, you will be thrilled by this tour, and even if you are not, you will still have a great time!
