What To Expect

Hit the beaches of Santa Barbara for a fun-filled introductory surfing session. Whether you’re new to surfing or just hoping to take your skills to the next level, there are few better places to give it a try than this iconic California surfing spot.

Start your lesson in the morning at Mondo's Beach, just a quick drive south of Santa Barbara proper, with an introduction to surfing technique on the sand before heading to the water.

During the course of your lesson, learn a range of skills, including how to watch for wave breaks, paddle into waves, stand up, and ride. No matter your level of experience, you’re sure to have a great time in the water.

No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
Children must be at least 7 years old, comfortable swimming in the ocean and ducking under waves
Minimum numbers apply. Our surf lessons require a minimum of 4 participants to run. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund.
If your group does not meet the minimum number, you do have the option to upgrade to the full day lesson (4hrs) for $30 more per person, and only requires 2 guests to operate.

Beau did a terrific job. He was very friendly, informative and patient with us. We really got up on the boards and enjoyed the waves!!! We will book this activity again when we go back to this area.
