This was an overall great experience! Giovanni was our guide and did an exceptional job of keeping us informed of what was going on and sharing insights about what we were seeing. Giovanni gets an A+ for his efforts.
The tour is a 13-hour trip, but we wished that we had more time! Unfortunately, it does take a while to travel to and from Sorrento and Pompeii from Rome. This trip is great for those that want a taste of the area; we plan on going back to spend more time at each of the locations. Know that it is going to be a full day, so plan accordingly.
The pick-up and drop off spot was easily accessible via Metro (only a couple of minutes walk from the train to the meeting location). There was no confusion about finding the tour group. The plaza was beautiful...arrive early if you can to get some photos and enjoy the area (although our pick-up was at 7:15 am...).
Sorrento: Sorrento is a beautiful coastal town with much to explore and well worth the stop. We appreciated the free time to roam around Sorrento, although our total stay was only about an hour. Really enjoyed this stop and glad it was part of the tour.
Limoncello Factory: The factory was not in operation during our visit due to a holiday. The tastings were nice, the gift shop was overpriced (in my opinion -- products were actually less expensive at the FCO duty free shops). Overall, the stop was appreciated and a new experience, but I would have rather invested the time in spending more time visiting Pompeii.
Pompeii: This stop was a must see and an anticipated highlight of our trip to Rome. We spent about two hours in the Archeological Park with a tremendous guide who actually gave us some freedom to explore and get pictures. Again, I wish that we had more time, but you can only put so much into one day. The tour absolutely whetted our appetite about Pompeii and makes us want to go back for more. A+ experience given the time we had.
Purchased Lunch at Pompeii: Adequate and a good value. The restaurant is set up to cater to tour groups, so don't expect a great ambience. The 15 euro lunch included: salad, choice of a main course (pizza, seafood, pastas, and "meat"), ice cream (lemon gelatto), and a drink. My wife enjoyed the seafood main course; I was a bit disappointed with the "meat".
Break stops: The bus stops once on the way to Sorrento and once on the way back to Rome. Good opportunity for a bio-break and to grab coffee/drinks. High priced gift shop.
Bus: The bus was clean, the driver was attentive, air conditioning worked, and the overall experience was good. My only negative comment is that the ad for this tour indicated there was WiFi -- but the bus was not equipped. Not a show stopper, but it would have been nice to have it.
Overall grade: A.

Silvia was nice enough to translate the commentary of the places we were visiting into Italian so I could learn. The day was interesting and I especially enjoyed the pompei tour. I also liked Sorrento.

Giovanni was a great guide. He took care very well about us. He always was pending, he asked all the time if we need something. I strong recommended him. Great experience, I am very happy.

Very good tour, very informative guide, with plenty of knowledge and a lovely personality. Would recommend this tour, especially if you have Giovanni as your guide, made the day 😀 x thank you

Isabella was very good at her job. She was very informative and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the tour was just ok. The restaurant we were taken to for lunch was absolutely terrible. The salad was hard and oil and vinegar was only given when we asked the waitress. The pasta was pasty and sauce had no flavor.
Once we arrived in Pompeii, our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, he rushed us through the park. We were only there for 1 hour and only saw a small part of the exhibits.
The lemoncello factory tour was a waste of time. It was a walk through the factory into the store. We learned nothing about making the drink and observed nothing.
Sorentto was beautiful. I wish we could have had lunch there
The 2 stops at the highway rest stop was unnecessary. It was filled with tour buses so the lines were huge. We could have used this time at Pompeii or Sorentto
Too many nonsense stops without any value added

Thank you for your feedback, and I’m glad to hear that Isabella and the guide in Pompeii made a positive impression with their knowledge and professionalism. We truly value your insights and will take your comments into consideration for future improvements.
We apologize that the lunch experience didn’t meet expectations. We understand how important a good meal is during a tour, and we'll pass your feedback along to the restaurant to ensure they are offering better quality food and service.
Regarding the time spent at Pompeii, we understand your desire for a longer and more in-depth visit. We will work with our guides to ensure that future tours allow guests to explore the site at a more comfortable pace.
We’re sorry to hear that the limoncello factory tour was disappointing. We always aim for our guests to have an informative and engaging experience, and we will reassess this stop to ensure it adds value to the overall experience.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback! We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed Sorrento, and we hope that despite the challenges, you still had some memorable moments during your trip. We will definitely review the itinerary to avoid unnecessary stops in the future.
Safe travels and we hope to welcome you again soon!

Isabella was a fantastic tour guide! She was energetic, friendly and helpful. The tour was long but a good taste of Sorrento and Pompei.

Excellent tour! Giovanni was so sweet and informative, definitely the best bus guide we’ve ever had. You could definitely tell he truly enjoys his job. Pompeii was amazing with our enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, Francesco. The lemoncello factory was very cool, we got to sample several types of lemoncello and other treats. Lastly, our trip to Sorrento was magical, the coastal city is definitely a destination that everyone would enjoy. If you’re looking for a little variety in your Rome stay, I would definitely recommend this tour!

Pompei was a fascinating step into history. Sorrento was beautiful, with amazing coastal views. The lunch was simple but very tasty!
