What a wonderful day trip we had to all the gorgeous sights in Tivoli, with Simone! He was fun, interesting and a very gracious guide who showed us the beauty there. We loved Hadrians Villa and Villa d este. We especially loved Simone. He had such a charming way about him.

Simone made this day beyond expectations! It was awesome and one of the greatest days seeing two UNESCO sites. He is a fantastic driver and explains history well. He responds quickly to reach him and made the day seamless from pickup to drop off. His lunch recommendations are spot on. It was a day chock full of amazing things to see and with Simone the day was calm. He gave us plenty of time at each site and we just contacted him when we were done. We will definitely do his other tours and recommend him highly. He made this tour a highlight of our trip and a great memory.

Firstly, Simone was AMAZING!! He was our driver. He was friendly and thoughtful and told us so much about Rome, Tivoli, and the surrounding areas of these two beautiful places in Italy. Hadrian’s Villa was so very interesting! The audio guide explained so much of what we were looking at. This UNESCO site is certainly being managed properly! Kudos to them. As for Vila d’este…this was a total disappointment nowhere did they give us the option to visit on a different day due to fountain closure. The church and villa are okay but one travels out THAT FAR from Rome to see the fountains in person and working. When we arrived we were informed the fountains have been closed for renovation and would be reopening in 3-days. In deciding to continue forward with our tour I didn’t see the fountains opening in 3 days. The place appeared to be mismanaged and unkept for renovations that would take years to repair and rejuvenate. This UNESCO site perhaps needs new leadership. Simone still made this a great day!! I would still take this tour again and again and again!!

Simone was able to pick us up from our hotel. And we even communicated prior to our arrival in Rome via WhatsApp. Simone made my huband and me feel so comfortable and so well taken care of. He drove us to Tivoli and made sure we knew where to go, and what to expect. Simone told us about Rome and Tivoli. A wonderful driver and guide. There was water and drinks waiting for us in the car. He even had some specially chosen pastries for us after the first villa. So happy we found Simone thru Viator. He truly made our day special.

Wonderful day trip from Rome!

We had a fabulous day trip to see Villa Adriana & Villa D’este with our host and driver for the day Simone! He arrived early at our pick up point and was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. We headed straight for Villa Adriana and along the way we stopped at a cafe where Simone bought us coffees and pastries! We then were dropped off right at the entrance to Villa Adriana we were told to take our time and simply message him when we were ready to be picked up! From there he drove us to a nearby waterfall where we had some beautiful scenery and photos! It was then off to lunch in Tivoli and Simone had several recommendations for places to eat. We chose to go to a local Trattoria and Simone walked us to the door. He also gave us clear instructions for the very easy 2 minute walk to Villa D’este after we finished lunch. All that was left to do was message him when we were ready to be picked up from Villa D’este and we were driven back to the place we started from in the morning! Simone was very personable and friendly, he was easy to talk to and he offered plenty of local knowledge and funny stories…it was like hanging out with an old friend! If you’d like to see the 2 Villa’s on your own terms, this is the way to do it. I would highly recommend Simone’s service! Grazie mille :)

Perfect side trip from Rome

Tivoli was a perfect little side trip from Rome. It was so nice having a private car and dedicated driver. Simone took perfect care of us, gave us plenty of information, and catered the day just for us. Highly recommend Simone!!

An excellent day tour with Simone, our fantastic host for the day. He collected us promptly from our hotel and dropped us back there. He bought us coffes in Tivoli and showed us the waterfalls on the steep side of the town. He took us to both the villas, Ariana and Deste. With plenty of time for lunch in between. Tivoli and both villas are amazing and a must see while in Rome. You can easily navigate yourself around both villas. Thanks Simone for a wonderful, delightful day together. We highly reccomend this tour to everyone

Amazing day trip to Tivoli

An excellent day trip facilitated by Simone! Before the trip, Simone assisted us with booking an excellent restaurant with an amazing view in Tivoli for lunch. The rendezvous was without hassle, and Simone was an excellent driver and great source of knowledge of Rome. We arrived early in the day before crowds at Villa Adriana/Hadrian's Villa, and was amazing walking around this vast landscaped space at our own pace. There are very good explanatory signs and a museum also. Amazing architecture, statues, olive groves and views! We then viewed the waterfall at Tivoli, which Simone explained to us the history of. Then our lunch reservation (which was also a highlight!), and then when we were ready we messaged Simone to rendezvous for next leg to Villa d'Este. This was also incredible, of course. Simone was generous with both his knowledge and time, providing additional tips on Rome for after our day trip. An excellent day, thank you Simone!

This excursion was a highlight of our 16 days in Rome. Simone is SO AWESOME, went out of his way to accommodate us (by picking us up at our apartment, for an extra charge, of course), and gave us a taste of local life in Rome. He is hilarious and answered so many way-of-life questions, gave us a cell phone so we always had a way to contact him while we were in the villas, bought us a pastry and coffee for breakfast, had water, Coke, and chocolates for us in the car, and gave us a little momento at the end of the trip. We loved the gorgeous gardens at Villa d’Este but it is a lot of steps — but take the time to walk the steps because the bottom is breathtaking. We also found Hadrian’s Villa interesting. The pretty waterfalls in Tivoli and the rolling hills are neat to see and learn about. Getting outside of Rome for the day was fun. Every single tourist should take an excursion with Simone — whether it is this one or another one he offers because he was so much fun! We read some online reviews before booking this trip, and everyone talked about how great Simone was — and I can vouch that Simone is what made this trip one of our most memorable experiences. We will never forget him!

I cannot recommend this enough. The guide was responsive and helpful. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area not only the villas. He was accommodating to our every need. He even took my son and I to a small place that served the best pizza and the price was very nice. If you can please take this tour.

I had an incredible time with this tour! Simi was very personable and helpful. Although this is not a guided tour of these sites, for anyone who would like to visit Tivoli (Villa Adriana and Villa D’este specifically) on their own without being limited by a large coach bus tour group/expensive alternatives, this is a great and affordable option. Simi was very accommodating of my schedule with the pickup/drop off at each location which allowed me to explore the sites on my own and at my own pace. Simi is very knowledgeable about these sites/Tivoli as well and answered any questions I had. Hotel pickup/drop off was also a great option that made for a smooth beginning and end to the day.

Good tour of places outside of Rome we had missed on prior trips. Hadrian's Villa is extensive. It's apparent a huge amount of work, probably by slaves, went into building this palace.

Très belle excursion !Notre chauffeur Simone nous attendait à l' heure prévue .Nous avons eu tout de suite un très bon contact.Il nous avait contacté la veille pour nous donner des informations si besoin. .Toujours disponible et plein d'attentions afin de nous faire passer un très agréable moment .Nous pensions avoir une visite guidée sur place mais finalement c’était très bien avec l'audioguide.Nous avons eu tout le loisir de visiter à notre rythme ces 2 lieux magnifiques que sont la villa d'Hadrien et la villa d'Este avec son merveilleux jardin .Nous avons pu déjeuner tranquillement à Tivoli avant de rentrer à Rome Nous avons passé une excellente journée.

Personne très gentille, efficace et sérieuse. Le véhicule est récent et propre et nous étions bien installés. Côté programme, nous avons d’abord été déposé à la villa Adriana pour une visite sans se presser, à notre rythme puis nous avons pu manger à Tivoli et aller visiter la villa D’Este. Et ce toujours à notre rythme, ce qui a été très très agréable. Dès que nous sortions nous étions attendu et nous n’avons pas perdu de temps. Bref, je recommande.
