Experience Iceland’s near-endless summer sun on a midnight quad bike adventure from Reykjavik. Ride a quad along asphalt roads and gravel tracks behind an expert guide, all in the eerie light of the midnight sun. Then, scramble up the mountains of Hafrafell and Úlfarsfell as midnight nears to watch the sun set and rise again within a few minutes, flooding the sky in gold and orange. Soak up the views of Reykjavik and the Reykjanes Peninsula from the summits before continuing across rivers and off-road trails back to base.

What To Expect
Choose to ride solo on a quad or with a passenger when you book. Then, on the day, start your midnight sun adventure with a mid-evening pickup from your Reykjavik hotel.
Travel to the quad base and, after a safety briefing from an expert instructor-guide, don your supplied helmet and gloves and hop aboard your vehicle. Get instructions on using the controls, and when you’re ready, set off in convoy behind your guide.
Soak up the ethereal light of the midnight sun as you rumble along asphalt roads, gravel trails and rocky paths — there’s a wide variety of terrain to tackle and keep your adrenaline racing.
Then, as the sun sinks closer to the horizon, climb up the two peaks of Hafrafell and Úlfarsfell, and drink in the unforgettable views down over Reykjavik and the craggy Reykjanes Pensinula, beautifully silhouetted against the sky.
As midnight approaches, watch entranced as the sun sets and then rises again within the space of a few minutes — it’s an incredible experience. Keep your camera ready to capture the phenomenon: as the sun dances on the horizon, the sun illuminates the sky in a stunning blaze of orange and gold.
Afterward, ride back down the mountainsides and tackle more challenging terrain, splashing through rivers and following unmade trails on your way back to base.
Your quad bike experience then concludes with a drop-off back at your Reykjavik hotel.

This was a highlight of our stay! Our guide was amazing and the views were spectacular. Could not recommend this tour enough. Please be mindful that this tour may be hard if you have any hand weakness, as the ride gets quite bumpy when you go off road. This is a must do!!

A once in a lifetime exhilarating experience! If you come to Iceland and have the time, do it! The weather didn't cooperate as planned (it was drizzling & cloudy), but we got to ride for (over 20) miles on backroads/trails (and sometimes public roads to get us there). We had some amazing views overlooking the valleys of the area outside of Reykjavik. To know that we were out until almost midnight and being able to see the sights was amazing. Weronika, a sweet young lady from Poland, who has a passion for motorcross biking, was our wonderful guide for the evening (tour operator - please recognize her accordingly). She was patient with the (varied abilities) small group and took to unforgettable sights. Even though we had an early flight, we knew we wanted to sacrifice our sleep - and glad we did. A must do!

Even though I almost died (my fault), this was a great experience. Juan was my guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I had an accident that cut my ride short but Juan was great in getting me the help I needed and the overall being a good guide. The safety gear and helmet they have you definitely protected me from serious injury. Even though I wiped out, I’d go back on this tour. The landscape and serenity of a late night ride are tough to beat.

This was so fun! It was pouring rain and so windy but we were so insulated with rain gear that we barely noticed. It was definitely a highlight of our trip. At one point we rode beside a herd of running horses It was so amazing. Something I'll never forget. Our guide Giulia was so sweet and made sure we were safe. She was fantastic!

It was an overall fun experience but wish we picked a daytime one. When we went it was end of summer and getting dark earlier and couldn’t really experience the beauty of Iceland in the dark. It was also pouring rain. I also wish the instructor gave a little more guidance in the beginning as this was my first time using an ATV . Not for a beginners

I would definitely recommend this ATV tour. We didn’t have good weather so we couldn’t see the midnight sun. It was cloudy and drizzling rain. We thought they would cancel the tour, but glad they didn’t. The operator was really nice and they provided warm overalls to wear. I was not cold at all; and I’m from Florida so I was afraid of being too cold. We drove the ATV’s for 2 hours across streets and back roads up and down a mountain. I was with my husband and 2 teenage daughters. We all had a great time!

100% worth booking! The guide was super nice, funny and attentive to everyone riding. He constantly looked back to make sure everyone was OK, and stopped a few times to let those that fell behind catch up, which was totally OK with everyone else, since they had great picture moments. This was such a great experience! I was a bit worried when it had rained all day that it was going to be cancelled or miserable, but you're equipped with the proper gear for this experience when you arrive, that made it incredibly fun and the water made it even better!
Highly recommend making the time for this experience, it's so much fun to see the different paths and landscapes from up close, especially given this was middle of the summer, the purple lupine flowers were EVERY-where and it was a stunning experience! ATVs were easy to operate, and if I wasn't comfortable operating my own solo, I had the option to go with the guide, which i didn't choose to do, it was too much fun driving on my own! :)

Great experience. So much fun. The scenery is off the charts, beautiful. We got to watch the sunset from two different points and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. This outfitter was top notch with great equipment and knowledge. We had kids all the way to seniors in our collective group so it is appropriate for all ages. Highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite tours that I’ve ever been on! Louis promptly picked us up at 8:00 pm and drove us to the safari quad building. On the way, he was chatting and getting to know us which was so personable and lovely. They provided enough gear to keep us warm as we drove from 9 to 11 pm. During the trip, they split us into two groups. One that wanted to drive fast and the other who wanted to proceed with caution. I went with Louis and the entire way he would check to make sure we felt comfortable. The ATV was easy to operate and so much fun! Even though we didn’t see the midnight sun, we saw stunning views and it was a great way to explore Iceland! The tour company itself operated so smoothly and is one of the best

We had an excellent time with Domaa as our guide on this ATV tour. It was truly one of the best ATV tours we have ever done. You will definitely go through water, over rocks and lava, and see amazing views! With the longer days in Iceland, this is a fabulous adventure to take one evening. We had a blast!

The whole experience was incredible. I have ridden or done many ATV excursions in the past (mostly in the USA) this was by far the most exciting. We drove and operated on the actual road a few times and no limiter that i was aware of being used. I enjoyed the ride and experience.

A fun, safe and memorable outing. However, as were required to stay in our original line which was simply where people sat on their ATVs. It was a tour leader, six participants, another leader, six participants, and a rear tour staff. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to ever move positions. The 6th rider in the front group was terribly timid and slow, which meant the entire back group had to go his speed while the rest of group 1 sped ahead out of sight. This slow guy essentially led us because he was so far back from the rest of the main group. I wish the group leaders would have either told us to line up in a certain way or moved people around after a bit to put more timid riders at the back. It made the trip a bit of a drag honestly. Beautiful views, nice tour staff, great gear even in rain.
