What To Expect

Your Icelandic all-terrain-vehicle tour begins with evening pickup from downtown Reykjavik. With your small group of fellow travelers, head out of the city and into nature.

Under the guidance of your guide, get comfortable with your ATV, and grab all the necessary safety gear. Then, set off on four wheels, and enjoy views over Reykjavik, Mosfellsbær, and the Reykjanes peninsula.

As you go, look out for native flora and fauna, and admire spectacular views of volcanoes and other natural features. Iceland's summertime midnight sun offers an uncanny brightness late into the evening; if you explore during the colder months, you may instead have a chance to spot the northern lights.

After soaking up the magical atmosphere, arrive back at your hotel late in the evening.

Great tour! My wife and I had never been on an ATV and it was very easy to learn. Our guide was great. The pickup/drop off was very easy. Tour was a lot of fun, he told us a lot of cool things about Iceland and the view at the top of the mountain was amazing.

This was the most amazing experience! I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to the Reykjavik area. Luckily, we ended up having a private tour, and our tour guide was fantastic. Even though it was rainy and foggy at the time that we went, driving the ATVs around the lake and up the mountain was such a fun experience.

The ATV tour guides were very friendly and helpful. It was just me and 3 kids and they accommodated that nicely. The tour was beautiful, even in not so great weather. I would highly recommend this company and tour.

The guide did not tell us anything about local fauna or anything of that sort, he just gave us a quad to jump on and said this is accelerate, this is brake, that was about it. We drove for about 20 mins to the top of the mountain, we stopped there for way too long like 20-30 mins it felt like for photos, and then we drove again for 20-25 mins. All in all it felt like 45 mins of driving on ATV. I felt the ATV quality was also not as good as the one I drove in Santorini. The brakes were not set properly which made the car very jerky whenever i braked. For 300 USD for 2 people for 45 mins ATV its really overpriced. Midnight sun didn't look that great like the pictures they show in the adverts either. The pictures are misleading actually. I suggest doing the normal ATV tour which is cheaper with Nice Travels. We did another tour with Nice travels and they were the best tour guide out of three tested in Iceland. Or if you are a couple like we are, then get a buggy from safari.is

This was the a highlight of our trip! My teenage daughters and I loved it and I think it would be loved by boys and men as well. We were in port on a Disney Cruise and there seemed to be a lack of excursions for boys so I would highly recommend this one. Kristjan provided all safety gear and helmets so we just needed to wear comfy clothes and socks underneath. He breeds Icelandic horses so he told us a bit about this and we could view the horses before gearing up. He led us up the mountain and we stopped at various places of interest. Even though it was too foggy to see the view at the top and a bit rainy, we had a blast splashing through water and viewing the scenery. Though it's late at night, it's completely light out and Kristjan took us to a lower hill with a view of our cruise ship. There we could see the Midnight Sun and the spectacular view of a capital city with so much open land and beauty. It was so fun and amazing!

Loved the ATV ride to the top of the mountain. We had a clear day so the view of the sunset was lovely. However, there are 2 items on this trip that are mis-represented - 1 there are no refreshments provided at the top of the mountain and 2 it's a midnight sun ATV but we were actually back in our hotel by 11:15pm so we ended up seeing the midnight sun from our hotel room. It was just the 4 of us on this tour which was nice but we felt it was too short. It was supposed to last till 12:30am.

Our midnight sun ATV ride was the highlight of our trip!! Christian was our tour guide and as a local he was very knowledgeable. We rode the ATVs up a mountain to watch the breathtaking sunset and took a couple stops along to way to take pictures and enjoy the surroundings. Worth every penny!!

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking to do something unique and memorable while in Iceland. Our guide, Kristjan, picked us up from our hotel and drove us out to the mountain outside of Reykjavik that we would be driving our ATVs. He is one of the nicest people I have ever met, and is also engaging and receptive to any and all questions about Iceland. On the way up the mountain we made various stops where we learned more about the local area, saw magnificent once in a lifetime views, and even learned about local lore. Once we got to the top of the mountain we watched the sun set while having some desserts and refreshments. The views were breathtaking. Kristjan made this tour enjoyable and fun and we all enjoyed the time we spent with him as our guide. It was also a great time tearing through the terrain on an ATV. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to do something unique, memorable and different while in Reykjavik - I would do it do it again no problem.
