What a fantastic experience! Gary showed us lots of California wildlife- sea lions, crabs, starfish, hermit crabs, garibaldi fish. He was super knowledgeable about the local sea life.
We opted to add snorkeling and that was an amazing extra part of the adventure. He had all the supplies we needed ready for us, including wetsuits for the cold water. Thank you Gary, we will visit again the next time we are in southern cali!

Expect a hands on, in depth experience. We originally booked for kayaking, but Gary gave us the option to go snorkeling in a local spot and we have 0 regrets. One of the highlights of the trip for sure.
Gary was very accommodating, personable and knowledgeable. I had both of my hips replaced in the last six months, my hubby hadn’t been snorkeling before and my son hadn’t kayaked before; Gary was able to provide what we each needed to have a fabulous time! Go, you’ll have a great adventure, feel proud of yourself and make some once in a lifetime memories with sea lions, octopus, and lots of laughter!
Garry (the guide) was a great teacher he taught us how to kayak and snorkle which we had never done before.
Gary made the expierence very enjoyable
with his great jokes, facts, stories and knowledge of the people and the area.
We had a great time on this excursion! I went with my two children (ages 10 and 14), and Gary was absolutely fantastic with both of them. He took the time to give them a snorkeling lesson, and he was especially wonderful with my son, teaching him how to dive underwater while snorkeling and even taking him out individually to practice.
Gary also took so many great photos and videos of our family throughout the tour and sent them all to us afterward, which was such a nice bonus. The sea lions were amazing to see, and the entire experience was fun, safe, and memorable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!
Gary was very fun, very experienced, and really took care of our family each to their need. Some in our group were more experienced and some were less able than others, and Gary focused on making sure everyone was relaxed and in their comfort level. He will encourage everyone to try a new experience. The water is cold!! It is take your breath away cold, but most in our group did great with it.
Gary was great, he basically tailored the experience for us. The harbor was full of life and getting up close to the sea lions was really neat. Would certainly recommend and would do again if in the area.

An absolutely unique and incredible experience! Gary made this super seamless/easy - we had 2 seniors, 2 adults, and 2 kids (4, 6) - and he was able to connect/tow kayaks, have double kayaks, etc., in a way that everyone was able to enjoy. He taught my daughter how to snorkel and she got to hold an octopus, sea snail, and se lots of fish in a VERY safe/protected bay. Gary is extremely likeable, go with the flow and just a joy! Completely recommend this!!
My husband, Matt, and I had an unforgettable time on our kayaking and snorkeling tour with Gary! The water was warm, calm, crystal clear, and perfect for spotting all kinds of wildlife, like pelicans, sea lions, garibaldi, opaleye fish, and even some massive lobsters made an appearance. We even found a great new spot for adventure-seekers to snorkel at! 🦞🐠
Gary was more than just a guide; he was a storyteller, naturalist, and all-around legend. His knowledge of the area was incredible, and he had us both entertained and inspired with stories from his time living off the land during several seasons of a survival TV show (yes, that one!). 🏕️🌊
If you're looking for an adventure that's both peaceful and packed with wild encounters, you have to go with Gary. 10/10 would paddle into the sunset with him again.
We had a wonderful time with Gary! He was fun, generous with his expertise and time, even allowing us to kayak after the official tour ended. He even taught my son to snorkel. And we loved getting up close and personal with the sea lions. Highly recommend!
Gary is AWESOME! Friendly, warm hearted and very good at taking photos! He is a celebrity in reality show and people are taking pictures with him in our trip, which is really fun! Hope to join next one with Gary!

I don't have enough good things to say about Gary. Super authentic guy with tons of knowledge about everything. He's a bit of a celebrity too.
Gary messaged me when I booked to give me info and a video. He also provided great instructions for how to prepare for the day. We showed up in swim suits with a few layers on top. I mostly just needed my T-shirt and long sleeve over shirt. Make sure you sunscreen your legs!
The tour itself is awesome. Arms length from the sea lions. Tons of cool things to see and photograph. Gary let's you paddle out in the open ocean if you want but we were too cowardly to attempt it. No thank you.
But yeah! Gary has great stories. He knows how to get awesome videos and pictures for you so it's just an amazing experience. Wifey loved it too. Gonna try snorkeling with Gary later in the year when it warms up.

I had so much fun with you two. I really loved your senses of humor and felt very lucky to be around people so genuine and the Sea Lions definitely cooperated. I would love to see you two do some snorkeling so you could take advantage of the paradise you live in. It was such a pleasure.
This is a must do! First the area is truly a hidden gem. Beautiful place for a picnic or just to hang out for the day, so don’t make plans for later. Gary was very entertaining as well as informative. He was great with my daughter and she hasn’t stopped talking about how much she loved the tour and Gary. You can get right up next to the sea lions and take as much time as you would like. He will cater to whatever you would like to do (kayak, snorkel, etc.) We even found an octopus and he dove right down and got it for us to see. If we are ever in the area again we will be back for sure!

If you want to get as close as you can to sea lions in the wild, this activity is for you. Gary is a skilled guide and taught us how to kayak. He was very patient and EXCEPTIONAL in handling my autistic son who loves sea lions. He was also very generous with his time and talents. He didn’t rush us and I think it’s because I said my son needed time to acclimatize. It took us about 3-4hrs and every cent was worth it seeing my son so happy.
Just some insights to help travelers:
1. Balance is needed to get on and off the kayak plus courage. I am clumsy, SUPER heavy but courageous. I made it. If you have mobility issues and worry about how inelegant you’ll look getting on the kayak, you might need to pass.
2. Use the lifevest and bring sunblock.
3. Bring drinking water. There’s a vending machine but no water. There’s a water fountain.
4. Toilet is clean and nearby. Shower is clean but FARRRR. So just shower at the hotel or home. More convenient too.
5. Pee before you set off. You can pee in the ocean but getting back on the kayak from the water can be challenging.
6. Leave valuables in the car or have a small waterproof bag that can hold your car keys and money. Make sure you have a waterproof/water resistant camera.
7. Sea lions smell fishy so just bring Vicks in case it gets too overwhelming.
8. HAVE FUN AND DON’T FEED OR PET THE WILDLIFE!

I had a great time kayaking with the sea lions! This was a first for me and Gary was so awesome! He is a wonderful tour guide and assisted me in everything I needed help with. I highly recommend this awesome adventure. It was such a great time and the highlight of my trip!

Our guide, Gary, was great. It was a perfect father / son (teenagers) trip. As a native, he was able to share many interesting stories about the area and as a “survivalist”, he gave us a lot of interesting tips and facts. Gary was prepared, super flexible and accommodating. The whole experience was entertaining and we will be talking about this experience for years!
