Our pilot, Clay, was excellent. He was a joy to speak with, a great teacher to my 20 year old daughter who he allowed to fly the plane, a skilled and safe pilot, and had a broad knowledgeable about the area. We sent him a $20 tip via PayPal which charged me an additional 88 cents (even though the guy at the front said PayPal would not charge me any additional fees for the $20 tip). Suggestion: bring cash for tips.
I gave 2 stars out of 5 because of false advertisement on Viator.com. There are 2 closeup pictures of Mt. Hood with this “Exclusive Mount Hood…” package. I purchased the flight for $507 for 3 people, and we all assumed that we would fly close to Mt. Hood just like the 2 pictures show on the website; however, that did not happen. During flight, we did not fly close to Mt. Hood like in the 2 pictures. It was my daughter’s 20th birthday and the 3 of us (including my friend) chose this group flight for the sole purpose of flying close to Mt. Hood just like the pictures show. We were very disappointed.
Was this due to the flight plan route made by ENVI Adventures Troutdale Oregon, or is it dependent on each pilot? I suggest that those 2 closeup pictures of Mt. Hood be removed from Viator.com website since the flight plan or pilot does not fly close to Mt. Hood like in the 2 pictures.

Sorry to hear this didn’t meet your expectations. Some of our tour routes, like this one, are restricted to 25 miles from the airport which is an FAA rule. So we, and each of our pilots, are required to abide by that rule without exception. In addition, we also may alter the published route due to weather or other out of our control circumstances (still within that 25 mile radius) to complete the flight. This makes every flight unique to each group and unfortunately we can’t guarantee what each flight will be like when flying to Mt. Hood.
As for the pictures, there are dozens of pictures provided by us and from various other guests that have flown this flight tour showing Mt. Hood from different perspectives, some taken with phones or professional level cameras at different stages of the flight. We specifically chose the different pictures, instead of just the 2 in question, to help give an idea on what you may expect during the flight.

I had such a great experience. The views were amazing and I felt very safe the whole time. I'm already looking into coming back for another tour. The pilot was great with my daughter and even let her steer.
