Tram is fun; ordering ticket online is not

Priscilla_E, Nov 2025
Nice to have the option of getting the ticket ahead, but I was disappointed that we had to physically go to a square and meet the guy for the paper ticket. We happened to go to the wrong square and had to try to contact the person who gave us the ticket. Nevertheless when we found him he gave us lots of info about the trans and routes. Next time I wouldn’t buy the ticket online. We could have just gotten on a tram and bought it. We should be able to use our bar code on our phone! We wasted an hour. Tram itself is iconic, though.

Tram was a no show

Tracy_S, Oct 2025
We had a 24 h tram pass but waited for over an hour and a half and the tram didn’t show up. We finally gave up and hired a tuk tuk. Still waiting to hear about a refund.

Tickets not received

David_B, Aug 2025
Tickets not received from vendor, no support from Viator. Purchased a 24 hour tram and bus pass online but had to meet someone for delivery. Admittedly we were 30 minutes late to the pick up point, but this is for a 24 hour pass. Had we known it was street vendor we would not have purchased.

Taking the tram in Lisboa...

Laura_H, Aug 2025
Taking the tram in Lisboa is the best way to see the city and all of the places that you want to stop at for a little longer.

Great Experience and Service

Dawn_N, May 2025
We had a great time. We accidentally booked the wrong date but their Customer Service Representative was able to accommodate us. I would highly recommend this Excursion and Company.

Tram ride through Lisbon….

Julie_P, Mar 2025
Alex was early to meet us and took time to explain the card. He even got us on a tram without having to wait in line. Tram ride was a must do in Lisbon. Long lines but not Alex’s fault. I thought it was well worth it!

Not recommended

Jenny_L, Mar 2025
Too overpriced!! If you get a day ticket plus a ticket for the elevator it's still cheaper. The guy who handed us over the ticket was friendly. Still I wouldn't recommend buying this ticket.

Worth it.

Ashley_t, Feb 2025
It's pretty easy - the tour operator meets with you and you get the cars to take the tram. No need to go full circle. I would just take the 12 (rather than waiting in line) to Alfama and getting off to explore there. Card gives a lot of benefits for 24 hours. Worth ordering. Area to get into the tram is dodgy - watch your bags.

Bad experience

omnia_h, Nov 2024
So bad organized.. I wasn't able to take the tram despite I was there 20 minutes earlier... too many people and un organized... you don't need to buy the ticket from viator ... just buy any tram ticket at any time ( time in this experience as mentioned on the site is un respected )

Tram 28

Vince_P, Oct 2024
Never got to get on Tram 28 , lines were so long we gave up after wasting one and a half hours in line , ended up walking the same route , nobody’s fault it’s just so busy .

Scammed.

Jill_A, Oct 2024
We feel we were scammed. We were only looking for a ride in the iconic tram 28 before we left to go home. So as with other attractions we went online to see about it so assumed you precooked as there were slots. Only to turn up and stand in the line and receive a call to meet a man who gave us navegante cards!! We had these had been using trains/buses/ferries while in Lisbon anyway but did NOT know would get us on tram. And we did NOT have a slot had to stand in line with everyone else and wait our turn which we wouldn't of minded but we paid for a slot in our heads so we're left disappointed and red faced!! AVOID this company your navegante card will get on and save you money as tram ride is €3.10!!

Disappointing

Gary_H, Oct 2024
Queues were far too long and no guarantee of getting on tram 28 anyway. Some roads were closed as well due to a sporting event on the day.

Worth the money but….

Rob_A, Oct 2024
Pros: Alex was friendly and on time Cons: difficult to find spot where we were meeting, confusing instructions on how to use the trolley pass and no map was given on where to go only written cryptic instructions. We are tourists and don’t know where anything is and our “guide” gave instructions like we lived there.

Not worth it

Susan_T, Sep 2024
Poor value for money. Trams are a gimmick, huge queues, better to walk & just see them from the outside. Audio tour not worth it. Little else in the package adds value as better just to do 1 or 2 funiculars solo.

Wow

Coralie_M, Sep 2024
Loved my experience, we saw a lot of places around the city and we were able to use many types of transportation.

Terribile experience

Gianluca_G, Aug 2024
I give a star because I can't give less, terrible experience. Endless line under the heat and then see nothing, the drivers are rude. I strongly advise against trying it.

Don’t do it

Jessica_K, Jul 2024
You will wait over 2 hours in line. Not worth it. Maybe better to take in the morning or late at night

Fantastic

Hemanthkumar_S, Jul 2024
The guidance was useful. The guide gave reference in English and as an expat, it helped me to navigate easily

Best way to experience Lisbon

Manar_S, Jul 2024
Best way to get around lisbon for a reasonable price. The person we met up with to get the tickets gave us a lot of helpful information about where to go and what to do which was really nice. He was also really friendly and answered all the questions we had. Would definitely recommend you make as much use of the ticket as possible.

Misleading description compared to experience

Emily_M, Jul 2024
There was no official “guide”, but the guy that delivered the ticket was very kind and accommodating. However, the description was not clear and a bit misleading. The meeting point did not mention having to wait in a long line in the sun and the ride was essentially a public bus through Lisbon. An audio tour was sent via WhatsApp, but would not have been helpful during the ride itself. We ended up getting off at a stop close to our hotel.

Overall a great experience.

Joy_D, Jul 2024
Excellent service. Informative and helpful guide met us at redemption point. Trams came frequently and little wait time.

Detailed Explanation

Carol_A, Jun 2024
Alex was very helpful in explaining how the tickets work making our experience easy to navigate. Thank you.

Alex was great

Jo_B, Jun 2024
Alex was wonderful and really looked after us - he gave us great advice, especially shortcuts to avoid long queues! <3

Fabulous tram ride

Pamela_H, Jun 2024
Fabulous Tram 28 ride through the streets of Lisbon. Alex did a great job explaining what our tickets included. Maybe Viator could say the meeting place is the Pharmacy near the tram stop to avoid confusion as only street was given.

Useful if you are going to use public transport.

Denisse_M, Jun 2024
The tour operator Alex was nice, and he explained a lot, but this experience is badly produced. They couldn't even tell if kids needed a ticket.

Fun day

Kristen_E, Jun 2024
Alex was great. He was so helpful giving us advice and tips of what to see and how it worked. We loved going through the narrow streets on the tram and was able to see so much

Great

Alejandro_V, Jan 2025
