Very scenic? Great way to see the lake. The food was great. The salmon and rib-eye taste great and were cooked to perfection. The band provided a great show after dinner. Enjoyed the evening. Tip take the bus they provide to the boat. The driver was great.

The boat tour was so great! The salad was delicious and had really fresh mozzarella on it. We also really enjoyed the band. They played a great variety of music and got the crowd really into it. We would definitely go again.

    Fun times!

Food was good, boat was clean and spacious, great view! Staff was very nice and live music was great!

We had an awesome time, dinner was excellent.

There's a bar and a band playing upstairs. We didn't know about it at first. The band was on fire. The steak was kinda small but it has great flavor

Food was delicious. Our only regrets you couldn’t catch the scenery as it was too dark. Music was a little loud and hard to visit. I would recommend to others pick a time during the daytime hours.

The food was terrible. Literally cold, grey steak. And it was pitch black before we even left the dock so couldn’t see anything.

The last dinner cruise on lake Tahoe

    Tracy_F, Nov 2025
It was very nice, the people are very friendly. The food was not the greatest , you need to have sunglasses because the sun will blind you unless you have a middle table. The scenery was beautiful but the evening cruise goes by the castle after dark so we didn't get to see that at all an that was a bummer. But the captain was very informative about the area. Still it would have been nice to see the castle. And the band that played wasn't very good, they tried but it was two guys and the singer was a little off. But everyone was so nice. It was cold so we didn't go to the top . Next time we will take an early cruise and wait til it's warm outside

Everything was perfectly on time, the staff was exceptionally kind and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful experience — very well organized and enjoyable from start to finish.

    Fun for first Tahoe Visit

    Rick_H, Oct 2025
Food is decent and plentiful. Not the best buffet ever but good enough. Would recommend that in the winter, they start the cruise at 5pm instead of 6pm. The “sunset” part of the cruise was when we were all getting in line for food - missed a lot of viewing sunset time. After dinner, there was a two man band performing on second floor dance room. Drummer was good but keyboardist and lead singer was drunk - kept messing up and forgetting words. Didn’t keep the drunk patrons from dancing but us sober ones were just laughing at the train wreck of it all. In spite of all that, the servers were great and we had a good time. Go for your first time visit - night stars are beautiful and it was an interesting experience overall.

Buffet style. Bring a jacket in October. Don’t sit at a table near the door where you board, if it’s cold outside. The lake is absolutely black at night. Get dessert with dinner. Lastly, get the eclairs as soon as you can, they are not restocked.

Would have been more enjoyable during the day…

We took the dinner cruise which was very dark. Unfortunately we were not able to see any of the sights. I was especially looking forward to Emerald’s Bay. If you’re wanting to not just experience dinner on the lake, but would actually like to take photos and take in the scenery, my suggestion is to do this during the daytime. I’m sure it magnificent!

The staff was friendly but the steak was cooked to rare and the chicken was dry. The sunset was 10 mins after we left the dock as we were eating and when we got to the bay it was dark so you couldn’t see anything. They should adjust the times of the cruise.

On October 4th, 2025, at approximately 4:35 p.m., my fiancé and I were waiting for the shuttle in front of 3 Peaks that takes guests to the dinner boat ride in Lake Tahoe. Because I have Chronic Kidney Disease and cannot stand for long periods without discomfort, I chose to wait in our parked vehicle directly in front of the shuttle stop. When the shuttle arrived, my fiancé got out first, and the driver honked and waved at him. As soon as my fiancé helped me out of the car, the driver honked again and began waving his hands impatiently, as if to say “come on.” We were no more than 12 feet away from the shuttle, and despite my condition, I walked as quickly as I could. From the time the driver arrived to when we boarded, no more than 17 seconds had passed. The repeated honking after we had already acknowledged the driver was unnecessary and embarrassing, especially given my visible difficulty walking. It made me anxious and created the impression that we were somehow holding up others, which was not the case. Once on board, my fiancé calmly told the driver, “Please don’t honk at us, you owe us an apology — we were walking as fast as we could.” The driver coldly responded, “I don’t owe you anything; I’m on a tight schedule.” Before my fiancé could even sit down, the driver abruptly pulled off, causing him to lose his balance momentarily. For the remainder of the trip, we observed the driver stop for other passengers — families, couples, and groups — and treat them politely without honking or impatience. We were the only Black couple on the bus, and it appeared that everyone else received respectful treatment while we did not. Combined with my disability, this experience was both humiliating and disheartening. .

    Great experience

    Patrick_P, Oct 2025
Dinner was amazing! Great food and dessert. The music and vibe was perfect for a little date night. Only thing I’d change is the tour should start earlier because most of the tour it’s dark and you don’t see anything.

Dinner cruise with my lovely wife.

    ShannanT_W, Oct 2025
The entertainment was excellent with music everyone can relate to and also get up and dance to. The cruise was very fun and enjoyable. The staff was friendly and made you feel welcome and comfortable.

    Disappointing

    Janis_R, Oct 2025
The dinner cruise started off very nice with a very good buffet dinner, though it was served before the cruise actually started. The Dixie II is a very nice boat and handled the wind and 1-2 foot swells very well and made for a smooth ride. As nice as the cruise started out it did not meet our expectations as it soon got very dark, which was in part because of cloud cover. By the time the boat reached Emerald Bay, it was too dark to see anything unless the spotlight was used, which did help illuminate the bay, the island and the Viking Castle. Very hard to take any pictures. We wondered why the boat’s departure is not changed at this time of year to an earlier time, such as 5 pm. It would have made a world of difference in the experience. In addition to that disappointment, the evening entertainment, a two person band, was not very good. The lead singer was actually drunk, or it seemed so as you could barely understand the words he was singing. We actually needed to sit in the dining area the entire ride as the music was also too loud. I would not recommend this cruise at this time of year.

Our tour bus driver was very polite and friendly! He gave us pointers and landmarks along the way to and fro from the cruise ship! The buffet selections were delicious and got more portions! The staff were attentive and friendly, from the servers to the bartenders! The entertainment was great! The band was great ! Had a chance to dance and met people! It was dark due to the rain coming in but we were able to get nice pictures before we embarked!

    Great time but not accessible.

    Robin_H, Sep 2025
We had a wonderful time, but if you have mobility issues, beware. It’s a long walk from the parking lot to the boat. We wish we had known.

    Worth It!

The staff was amazing and very efficient. The food was delicious. The best way to see the beauty of Lake Tahoe. Worth It!!

Very nice cruise and the food was surprisingly good! It was a little dark and cold by the time we made it Emerald Bay but it was still worth the trip.

    Enjoyable Dinner Cruise

    Stacy_W, Sep 2025
The Emerald Dinner Cruise was enjoyable. The sunset cruise was beautiful. The dinner buffet was fine. The entertainment was wonderful and we enjoyed dancing on the return trip. Although, we never received our free gift they promised for getting up and dancing.

should be half the price and in the daylight

    Nancy_S, Sep 2025
needs to be a daylight tour with the cruise ending at sunset. Half the tour was dark. The meal and service was good. Price was a bit high

    Fun time

    Mark_P, Sep 2025
My husband & I thought the dinner cruise was fantastic. It was well worth the money. Dinner & drinks was great and then entertainment was wonderfully entertaining. The music and the guys were great. It was informative as well.

    Disappointing

    Uli_B, Sep 2025
The meat and veggies were not hot (barely warm) so dinner was awful. Found out during dinner that there were 2 seatings. After dinner there were not enough chairs for all of us and it was very cold and windy on the deck. Because of the 2 seatings, the tour was longer than advertised.

The cruise was fun, the buffet was good, the commentary about Emerald Bay was educational. Since it was dark as we were at Vikingsholm and around the island, they shown spotlights on them both. In Sept, the sun sets earlier, so we were eating during most of the sunset and only got to see it for a few minutes.
