The train ride was just that a ride. No historic or sufficient information regarding the battle of Gettysburg.
Not what I was expecting . I will say the trees filled most of the scenery, the houses we passed were beautiful. But I wasn’t impressed .
You don’t go around a loop it’s just forward and then backwards and you really see nothing but the college / fields / trailer park
Short ride. Up and back on same track. Great view of weeds and a huge trailer park. We wouldn't do it again. Staff was very nice, though

Ride does not include views and travel near park. Only included views of farm land and wooded areas. Sears were comfortable and popcorn was very good.
We thought we would be able to see things from the train, but you don't. Just a lot of trees and the back of people's houses. The train was clean and the staff friendly. There was a slight continuous waft of poop smell and we were far away from the bathroom so not sure what happened there.
Ensure you have plenty of time to park and make your way to the train. Snacks are available for purchase during the train ride , they only take cash. Get ready to learn amazing history that was not taught growing up
Relaxing ride with refreshments but does not cover much of the battlefield. The railway staff were very friendly.

Beautiful restored Service Cars were above my expectations. Customer service was also exceptional. The train ride through the northern suburbs of Gettysburg was amazing and informative from the announcer. Highly recommended looking forward to our next trip when I bring my family up. Thank you.
The points of interest on the prerecorded commentary were difficult to pick out. Some points were just “ in the area” or didn’t exist anymore. I did not realize we would only see the back side of the Eternal Peace Light, and then only a small portion of the top of it. The train car itself was nicely restored and comfortable.
Very comfortable relaxing ride. Steve out guide was very personable. We went on a rainy day and it was very cozy. Perfect !
It was a scenic ride with some history playing over the speaker...but really this is about the experience of riding a train and seeing scenery. It is a back and forth trip, meaning you go so far, they stop the train and then go back the same way.
It’s a great break in a busy day at Gettysburg. You are told about the local area, and facts about the war.
Using Viator was so simple. I had to cancel the first time of activity and go in with a new time. I also liked the reserve now pay later option. I am using your product for when my daughter and I go to Scotland next year.
They are in for a treat on this excursion train. There are beautifully restored train cars from the 1950’s with some of the most comfortable seats i have ever sat in. They offer a concession car for refreshments with cold drinks, popcorn, nachos, soft baked pretzels and slushie drinks, among other things. There is also a separate gift shop in a restored historic train depot building.
The train ride takes you through wooded areas, past streams, orchards, peoples homes and the possibility of spotting wildlife.
We spoke with several staff members and all of them were friendly, knowledgable, and offered information on almost any subject you might need or want to know.
Train was nice but the scenery was uneventful and very disappointing. I would have much rather have taken a carriage ride through the battlefield.
It was a nice ride. I think the description gives the impression that you will see more than countryside where things “used” to be … but are gone now. If you want a nice, calm, relaxing train ride, this is for you. It’s the experience. If you want monuments etc spend the time elsewhere. Train itself was very clean and comfortable with the fluffy leather chairs or sofas for you and your loved ones to relax in together.

It was not a good experience at all! Our train car had multiple crying, screaming little children. Unable to hear the narration. Disappointed in our view. The trees and bushes are overgrown blocking the view. I would unfortunately not recommend this or do this again.
Extremely friendly and relaxing!! The seats were very comfortable, windows were clear and big to see the outside! We would do it again!!!!! It is getting very difficult to type enough to get the minimum required, when that many characters is not needed to say how good the train out of Gettysburg was!!
Arrive atleast 20 to 30 minutes early. We had to park and walk and almost missed the train. Totally our fault!!!
It was beautiful a beautiful senic ride. Our guide was wonderful. The concession car was good for snacks and souvenirs. It was worth the price and will do it again when we come back next time. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.

Extremely knowledgeable bout local history
It was a comfortable 1 1/2 ride. We saw 2 monuments and 4 cannons at the beginning of the train ride, and some of Gettysburg College. The rest of the ride we saw lots of trees, an occasional deer, and some houses. There was an overhead narration, filled in with music, which happened a lot. We thought the Porter for our car might add to the narration, but he did not. We had hoped there would be historical things to look at for the majority of the ride, but no.
A very relaxing and super comfy train ride. So beautiful. Only downfall. So many famn trees along the tra k you did not get a lot views. Still, what you got to see was amazing. Very educational. Tour guide lady was very knowledgeable!!
This was a wonderful way to see the beautiful countryside that was once a battlefield. The seats were incredibly comfortable and the train car was nice and cool on a hot day. I enjoyed the information by the narrator and the additional commentary by the guides. Our guide, Steve was super friendly and helped us know which places to see in our short amount of time in Gettysburg. Thoroughly enjoyable experience, especially with children who have not rode on a train ride before. They loved it and so did I!
