Chris was awesome! Her portrayal of Rosa Carmichael was great! She told the story of the orphanage from Rosa's point of view a did great. Also, she nicknamed me "stick boy" and I was her official thug for the night. She interacts with everyone very well. My daughter loved it!

Chris is amazing. She played the role of Rosa excellent. She told the history on point and explained everything for us all to remember.

Chris was an awesome tour guide. Stayed in yes miss Rosa character and really went into the history of the orphanage. Phenomenal!!!!

Our tour guide Chris (Kris? Sorry, unsure of spelling!) did an absolutely amazing job keeping our group invested - whether you're a history junkie or a ghost nut, the paranormal aspect is mixed in with the tragic history of the orphanage during the war; and Chris's acting, story-telling, and portrayal of events was phenomenal - you can immediately tell she is passionate about what she does! The stories of the adults and children of the orphanage, what "Miss Rosa" put those poor kids through, the things those kids had seen... It's gut-wrenching. Even if you don't believe in the paranormal, this tour is absolutely worth it (along with the History tour!) for the story-telling alone!
The images provided here are from the basement - where you're informed about the further abuse and torture "Miss Rosa" committed against the children and given the option to potentially interact with their spirits with an EMF reader (whether you believe in that, or would just like to give it a go regardless as part of the experience!)

The orphanage tour was supposed to be about ghosts, but most of the tour was about the psycho who ran the orphanage. The best part of the tour was at the end when we were in the cellar. On a positive note, our tour guide was excellent. She portrayed her part very well.

Awesome tour! Very informative and engaging! Our guide was amazing! The entire tour was absolutely detailed and kept our attention the entire time!

We had a seven yo and three yo. The 7 yo loved it and the three year old didn’t know what was going on but neither of them were too scared.

We received lots of historical information on the horrible acts that occurred to the orphans during the civil war. Highly recommend as we found pictures after the experience highlighting some form of spiritual presents with us.

A little too theatrical in the beginning but ended very interesting when the guide and other guest just spoke about their experience and the experience of previous guests.

Dr. John was awesome in his role. Leisurely tour inside the orphanage dining room basement a private spot that will surprise you. We didn't get any strong paranormal occurrences, but I can see where it could occur under the right circumstances.

Love the character of Miss Rosa! The thought and detail put into creating an engaging presentation was awesome. Chris was a great guide with great energy.

Chris is a great tour guide ! She tells stories in a way that holds your attention. We caught some activity on our camera this evening and it was a very memorable experience.

We had Mike (the undertaker). It was a group of adults so his jokes were hilarious we all enjoyed it. He took us to the cellar and we understood why he had us laugh before hand because it was very depressing. He is an amazing tour guide and I would definitely recommend him!

My husband and I took our 13 year old grandson for his birthday. Our guide was wonderful, engaged all the kids as well as the adults. She was informative, entertaining, and we learned so much!
We will be back!

The “cellar” was the best part. The history/story was interesting. The guide was good, acting like she was talking with other ghosts.
Tammy_D, Oct 2024
The story was very well told and entertaining. The basement is the most interesting area. If you’re in town and looking for something to do, give this one a shot.
Stephanie_M, Oct 2024
Our tour guide, Chris, was amazing. She captured the sinister essence of Rosa, the head mistress of the orphanage. I captured an orb and was touched on the back of my neck, several times, in the basement. I would highly recommend it. Our tour group had 20 people and there was enough space in the rooms that we toured. The dungeon was heartbreaking. What the orphans had to endure was so tragic. I don't recommend children under 12 attending the tour. The tour lasted 90 minutes with 50% walking and 50% sitting. The stairs were very narrow and steep leading to basement. Don't recommend if you have mobility issues. The tour is worth it. Please tip tour guide at the end. It's not expected but so appreciated.

It really had a feeling of long ago, and the basement was really eerie feeling. Loved it!
We would definitely do it again!

Was a wonderful experience and really enjoyed our time there with Tom he did an excellent job at explaining the history of the orphanage and the ghostly experiences there was so grateful for the opportunity
Mark_H, Jul 2024
Mostly just story telling in the orphanage about what happened to the children. The tour was on time and the tour guide was nice enough, just expected more.
Response from Host, Sep 2024
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you expected something different from your tour. The Orphanage is indeed a hotbed of constant paranormal activity. If you return to Gettysburg, please contact me and I will provide a complimentary tour with more paranormal information.

Educational and pleasant. Did not experience any supernatural things. If you like history there is a lot of that.

This was a wonderful night with Chris! Chris was an incredible tour guide! I brought my girls to Gettysburg on a girls' weekend and we had a great time. Our experiences with both Jennie Wade and the orphanage did not disappoint us!
