We will meet you in the parking lot at the visitor center and you can hop on an ebike with direct access to the carriage roads. We will meet you back at the starting point when you are finished. If you finish before the full rental period then there is a bike rack to lock your ebikes up.

Acadia National Park is yours to explore at your own pace, speed, and preference from the moment you arrive at the Hull’s Cove visitor center. Connect directly to the carriage roads when you pick up your ebike.
Your rental includes a few conveniences and necessities: a helmet for safety, basket for your belongings, bike lock for secure stops, and a cell phone holder so you can photograph wildlife before they sneak away.
A lesson is also included before you speed off, but feel free to also ask questions about what you should see or which routes you should take. Park Loop Road is a popular destination, and with between 30 and 50 miles of power, you can explore this coastal landscape in full before returning to the visitor center.

- Start times at the Hull's Cove Visitor Center are exact.
- Cruise ship passengers will need to arrange travel to Hulls Cove Visitor Center as we have no human transport vehicles. We recommend the Island Explorer (free) or Cadillac Mtn. Shuttle (taxi). PLEASE plan this in advance.
- Ebike battery charges last 30 to 50 miles depending on the effort and body weight of the renter.
- All ebikes are class 1 (pedaling required) consistent with park service rules
- We will text you 24 hours before your rental to remind you of the location and start time.
- All ebikes come with an insulated bag, lock, phone holder, helmet and map.
- All participants need to be capable of riding a typical pedal bike.

Safe and fun
Exciting...great staff....the e-bikes were wonderful...Very high quality and easy for a beginner to ride.
Everything was excellent from start to finish. We received good communication after booking, the bikes were excellent, the safety and “how to” briefings were very good and the recommendations for where to go were great. We had a wonderful time. This was our favorite way to see the park. Way better than driving.

Great fun and beautiful views throughout the Acadia Nat’l Park. Highly recommend, so much to see! Our stop at Jordan Pond House for lunch and a popover was a must for our long ride through the park!
The e-bikes were great and easy to use. Clear instructions on how to operate them. Information on the trail highlights were appreciated. The carriage roads are positively beautiful!! You are able to cover so many areas.
Arrive 15 minutes early! Take the map and use it. This was by far the BEST excursion we have ever done in a national park. The carriage roads are beautiful and best part is no cars. We road our bikes to the Jordan Pond Lodge and had lunch. Amazing 10 out of 10!!
The bikes are first rate, good shock absorption, comfortable seats with plenty of padding. Good battery power. On a 22 mile ride only used a little over 25% of the battery. However there is no free ride, you have to peddle to go up hill.
The trails are in good condition, crushed gravel.
The people from the bike shop did an Ok job of explaining the bike function but I felt they went into too much detail. Could have related the same information with a lot less words.
This is a wonderful way to view Acadia national Park without the crowds and seeing things that you will not see on the roads.
Great trip. Follow directions exactly when you start up your first hill. I did not and fell. After that it was incredible, absolutely beautiful. I wish I lived near by the carriage trails. I’d bike them every day. Nice bikes. We had a great day.
Loved the self-guided e-bike! We explored Acadia on our own term for 6 hours. Great e-bikes and no issues at all! They spent about 30 minutes teaching us how to use the bikes and nap if needed. Definitely pay attention to reading the map. you can easily get lost around Acadia's! So many turns. Highly recommend it though. Will be back.
The e-bikes were easy to handle on the carriage roads. It is totally up to.you where you would like to go in the park so we got recommendations from yhe instructors. Speaking of instructors, you will need to remember that the instructions will take about a half hour which does cut into.your 6bhour allocation time. Overall this is a great way to see Acadia and it allows you to go where cars cannot.
Fun activity, beautiful scenery, but not for novices. We were a long time not riding bikes, so some of the terrain was challenging. Uphill both ways.
We had a blast!! We showed up late and the hosts were gracious with us. We biked around the mountain and it was simply lovely!!
Loved this experience! My only negative is that the seat was very uncomfortable for me. My partner didn’t experience this, so it was probably my specific tush, but I had to cut the ride short because it was so painful. Otherwise, it was a wonderful time, great orientation and instructions and the bike fit well.
Super fun! The bicycles were easy to use and the trails were easy to navigate with the pre-ride navigation discussion. Highly recommend this as a must do experience!!
Biking through the park was incredible. My husband's 4th & 5th gear didn't work, and we didn't find that out until we were 20 minutes away(and there is no service in the park to call them). The man who gave us our bike talked for FORTY MINUTES straight. We didn't get out of the parking lot until 8:45. A 5-10 minute briefing and giving us the map would have been more than enough. I don't need someone to explain to me how to read a map for 30 minutes. A quick explanation of the map and a "stick around if you have any questions" would have been fine. It was even more frustrating when we found out his gears didn't work, as you would think if you had us there for 45 minutes just talking, part of that would include making sure the bike was actually completely functional. This led to my husband's bike almost dying towards the end of the day because he had to stay in gear 3 or lower, using more of the bike assist.

A few things for anyone reading. Our fleet is 2025-or-newer Cannondale with 750Wh batteries, the largest we run and, as far as we know, the largest on the island. In thousands of rides over the past two seasons, fewer than 10 riders have depleted their batteries.

On these mid-drive bikes, staying in a lower gear doesn't drain the battery faster, so a day loop on the Carriage Roads shouldn't come close.

Our 12-minute safety orientation is required, and it's shaped by over 20,000 rides we've hosted on the Carriage Roads; it's something guests often mention positively in their reviews. The map walkthrough that follows is optional, runs about 8-12 minutes depending on questions, and anyone is welcome to grab a map and go. We'll make that choice clearer at check-in.
Riding an e-bike through Acadia National Park was a fun and unique way to see a lot of the park in just a few hours. The orientation took a good 30-40 minutes but was worth it. Only one spot on the map (that we found) was confusing (38) showing a trail to the left that would have been problematic if we hadn’t seen some locals to verify which way we should go. Jordan pond house popovers were a treat and the day was memorable. High quality bikes and orientation.
Worth every penny. We had a beautiful day and the scenery & experience were breathtaking. Between the gears and the electrical assist, you set your own difficultly level, and can adjust accordingly as the terrain varies. We’re in our early 60’s and felt tired but good at the end—and even better, not sore the next day. Highly recommend!
This was a great experience & a nice way to see areas of the park you can’t see by car. It was a relaxing, easy ride. The map could be confusing but the direction & suggestions given by the staff were very helpful. Definitely recommend!
Take the time to stop at the Jordan Pond restaurant and have a Popover before you hike around the pond. You’ll have plenty of time to explore on the bike as well as stop to do the hike and grab a bite to eat.
We had a blast. Someone should redo the Carriage Trails map so the signs make sense as to where they lead. 🤣🤣🤣
Make others aware that you are passing on their left. Being silent causes an element of surprise when passing and possibly cause an accident.
The bikes are fantastic and in perfect condition. The on-site training teaches you all you need to know. They give you a map with suggested routes and things not to miss.
Most importantly, the trails are beautiful!
We loved this self guided e bike tour!! The guide was SO helpful and kind! He gave us a rundown of all the route options we could take before we left, taught us the ins and outs of how to use the e bike, and gave us great tips for the ride! Super informative and caring, and it made for a memorable experience! We took our time and ate dinner at Jordan’s Pond house, made may scenic stops for photos, and still made it back in PLENTY of time. No rush at all!
Bikes are awesome. Definitely needed the e-bike to make it easier up the hills. Definitely recommend.
The equipment was brand new nice clean helmets. They were very thorough in their explanation of going over the bike the maps you could not have asked for a better company.
Very good instruction and maps with numbered corners were easy to follow. The trail system was amazing and the views were better than I could have hoped for. The quality of the E-bike was top notch, comfortable and relatively effortless to ride and we rode for 6 hours. My wife and I will be coming back with family to do it again!

It is a lot of fun, highly recommended for a day out, we chose the perfect day the temperature was perfect. If it was to warm it would have been uncomfortable.
