You can immediately tell he has a true passion for the history of New Orleans and the community that makes it so special. Jimmy shared that he was previously a history professor, and it definitely shows. He has a way of bringing history to life that is engaging, entertaining, and incredibly informative. We learned so much during the tour, and several of the stories and historical facts he shared will stick with me for a long time. If you’re looking for a tour that’s more than just walking through a cemetery, Jimmy is the guide you want. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine love for New Orleans made this one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend!

An entertainment encounter with entomology and aqua life

If your child has an uncontrolled fear of insects near her or him, DON'T go into the butterfly enclosure! Or at least be ready for one grandparent to make a quick exit with the child to avoid trauma and drama. Otherwise, everyone enjoy many things. Well, in the case of the teenager, at least one thing, and that was the virtual experience (of course). Pricey but nicey. We'd take our grandchildren again. We stayed three hours and didn't even realize it.

Plantation + Gator Tour

We were so glad we could combine two things we wanted to do into one tour! The Plantation was a beautiful building with lovely landscape gardens. I would note there isn't too much about the history of the enslaved, I have heard Whitney Plantation is better for this and I think if we were to book again we might swap the plantation to learn more history - but from a visual point of view it was beautigul. The swamp tour was an experience! We saw so many gators but also other wildlife, raccoons, wild pigs, birds, turtles, fish! The only thing about this tour, was the feeding of marshmallows to the gators... wasn't sure how right this was. But other than that - we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Do It!!!

Such a great adventure... We booked the tour, which had transportation included, and our shuttle driver was very prompt and courteous. Once we arrived to the location, we were able to use the restroom and browse the gift shop before leaving. Ernie was our guide and he was tons of fun! As a native of the bayou, he's a living historian, very knowledgeable of any and everything swamp related. He takes pride in what he does and it's evident that he enjoys his tours. Despite the rainy weather, he battled the elements and made the best of it. He knew exactly where to go to find his gator friends that were awaiting their daily marshmallow fill. They felt the vibrations of his boat and knew he was coming. It was pretty cool. The tour was nice and lengthy, and very relaxing. If I were a local, I'd probably do this tour monthly. That's how much I enjoyed it. If you're contemplating, do it! You won't regret it. The only thing that could've made it better was getting to hold a baby alligator, which we weren't able to do. Hopefully, next time!

Very cool experience! Even if you don’t believe in the paranormal, this was very educational! Jeff was the perfect guide…very informative with a great sense of humor and a love for his city! And riding in an air-conditioned bus was a plus, but we obviously still got off the bus to go into a locked cemetery that only this tour can access. Even family members have to make an appointment to gain access to visit their loved ones’ graves. Again, very cool experience!

Absolutely amazing experience. The captain was awesome, the kind of person I would want to have out in the swamp with. I saw more wildlife on this hour and a half than any zoo or safari I've been on. It’s a great way to see the city sights if you’re here for the first time and have only 3-4 days like myself. I like that you have a Bus Host who gives a commentary as we move along instead of ear phones. It would have been a perfect ride if it wasn’t for the rain though LOL but take it all in your stride and have fun!
