Johnny was great throughout the tour and let us spend as much and as little time depending on our interests level of each stop. We even added a local coffee tasting right across from the Rum Company. Eco-park was good and busy as expected but we were able to take pictures of Sloth and interact with monkeys and macaws. highly recommended!!

Hesitant and first, but so glad we booked!

I was hesitant at first to not book through the cruise line, I would hands down book this excursion again!! Leon was fabulous. He was very knowledgeable about island facts and answered and questions. Getting through the gauntlet of people leaving port was a bit of a challenge, but just follow their directions of looking for the their signs and they are right at the entrance. The island you relax at had good food and drink and I encourage you to bring your own snorkel equipment as the snorkeling at the beach while you wait is great!! We all very much enjoyed the animals and were able to spend plenty of time. Snorkeling was amazing. Leon even added a stop for souvenirs. Only thing I wish we could change was to be able to spend more time. This was our favorite excursion of our cruise. Hands down! We will be back!

Great excursion!

This was our favorite excursion during our trip! :) We have a seven year old and four year old twins. We each had a monkey on us at some point, got a picture with the sloths, and were landed on by the parrots! :D During the snorkeling piece, the guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. He made sure everyone was included, even the kiddos. He pointed out colorful fish, a barracuda, brought up a beautiful conch shell (that he then returned where he found it). When we hit some unexpected jellies, he was able to pivot and bring us to another location. All around an amazing trip!

A Unique Adventure

The first adventure was finding our tour guide. We arrived at the island on a cruise ship which I assume most participants do and it was a challenge to find our guide. After leaving the ship you walk through a busy port village and have to exit the port to find your guide. It was a bit confusing but we finally found our guide, Eddie. Eddie was an outstanding guide. As we drove through the island to our first stop, the monkey and sloth reserve, he kept us informed about the island, the inhabitants, and answered my many questions. At the reserve he escorted into the building got us our wrist bands and the waited while we toured. While the tour of the reserve was only about an hour it was amazing. Have you ever had a mo key sit on your shoulder or a macaw on your head? You will here. Have you ever seen a sloth up close and personal? Again, you will hear. The kids 12 & 14 were thrilled and amazed which made me happy but even without the kids I would have enjoyed it. Great visit. Eddie was waiting and had the tour vans air conditioning running when we got back in which we all appreciated. Roatan is hot and humid. Next stop was West Bay beach. Beautiful white sand, aqua warm water and paced full of people. You need to be in the water or in the shade. The sun is brutal. We needed to rent beach chairs and an umbrella from one of the baby resorts lining the beach. I paid $46 US for two lounges in the shade and it was well worth it. Before leaving the beach we had a cocktail at a restaurant bar overlooking the beach. There are lots of recreational activities to do at this beach to include diving, jet skiing, riding a banana and much more. Overall it was a great but very hot and humid day so be prepared for that . Eddie took our tired bodies back to the boat reboard the ship on time. Again. Eddie our tour guide made the trip educational and enjoyable.

Family Fun with the best Guide ever!!!

We lived our day here and it was because of Johnny Brooks, our guide!! He was phenomenal!!! Kind, sincere, hard working, went above and beyond to make sure our experience was top notch!! And it was!!! We bought him lunch at the Resort and learned about Roatan in detail!! If you need a great guide, ask for Johnny Brooks! And the excursions were a blast!!! This was by far the best excursion we booked. Our driver was fun and informative about the island! Lots of zip lines and bridges to make it worth your time! They take some great candid shots (for $ at the end $15.00 per person) the animals were so fun and neat to see! My fav was the sloths! You won’t regret this one
