Our Manatee snorkel tours are guided by USCG Captain as well as a licensed and insured dive professional. Our in water professionals are trained as first responders, with First aid, CPR, AED administration and in-water rescue training. Captain and guides are also trained in manatee manners, through the Manatee Eco Tourism Association in coordination with United States Fish and Wildlife Service. The training allows us to lead the industry by operating the saftest tours on the water for our guest and manatees alike.

We are a small, family-owned company with a passion for wildlife & the environment! Founded in 2005 by manatee rescue volunteers focused on safeguarding the dwindling manatee population, our goal has always been to bring you the very best in educational, animal friendly tours. It has never been our ambition to have the largest fleet of boats on the water. Instead, we aim to have the smallest possible impact…which is why we only offer small tours & are proud to be 1 of 2 Guardian Guides with Save the Manatee Club! Regardless of whether you book a tour with us, we kindly ask that you respect the manatees & their space…not crowd or prey on them. Any tour company promoting the petting of wild manatees is truly part of an ongoing local problem. We love snorkeling with the manatees, but always remain mindful not to interfere with their natural behavior. You can also see them very well from the boat, so whether in the water or out, it's truly a magical adventure!

Important Information: Operators must be at least 21 years old; the renter must be 25 years or older. Operators born on or after January 1, 1988, must possess a valid Florida or NASBLA-approved Boater Safety Card. Experienced boaters only. This rental is not suitable for beginners, and renters are responsible for any damage to the vessel. Rental includes one full tank of fuel. Additional fuel, if needed, is the renter's responsibility and can be purchased at a local fuel dock. Boats must remain within the designated operating area. All rentals must return by 12:00 PM or 5:00 PM (depending on your scheduled rental time). Late returns incur a $100 per hour fee. Harassing or disturbing wildlife, including manatees, is strictly prohibited. A valid Florida fishing license is required if you plan to fish. If swimming or scalloping, at least one capable operator must remain aboard the vessel while others are in the water.

Important Information: Reservations may launch anytime between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on the selected date. Check in at the Crystal River Preserve Adventures office located at the end of the park road in the Main Marina Basin. There is no entrance fee to Crystal River Preserve State Park. Tandem kayak capacity is 2 passengers or 500 lbs maximum, whichever comes first. Tandem kayaks can be converted for single-person use if desired. Please bring water, sunscreen, and a hat for sun protection. Renters must be 18 years or older. Children must be at least 12 years old to paddle in a tandem kayak with a parent or guardian in the group. Children under 6 years old must wear a life jacket at all times while on the water. Disposable items and alcohol are prohibited. Pets are not permitted in rental equipment. All kayaks must return to the launch by the scheduled end time. Late returns are subject to a $50 per vessel, per hour fee.

We do not offer in-water swim guides or traditional manatee swim tours. This is a kayak-focused experience. When conditions allow, we may stop at a safe, shallow area where you can exit your kayak and enter the water independently to observe manatees. We are environmentalists first. We do not condone crowding manatees or placing large groups around one animal. If a respectful swim opportunity naturally presents itself, you are welcome to enjoy it. Otherwise, we observe wildlife from the kayak. The manatees and their well-being always come first.

Captain Ron and Kaylin were very friendly. They made sure us and the manatees were both safe and comfortable. It was a very beautiful, relaxing experience. We went at the end of October and saw 3 manatees. We were able to swim very close to them, they’re faster than you’d think.

First off let me say I am 62 with recent knee replacement and 5’8” 165 pounds so was worried about getting in and out of kayak from dock. RJ and I think Ryan were very helpful and kind and removed that stress factor. The paddle r/t was not challenging or strenuous and very serene and gorgeous. We met tater tot baby manatee and mom and we’re so amazing. Got to love manatees. 3 sister springs was so beautiful just loved this trip.

Best Family adventure Ever!!

We had JJ and Doug as our guide. They knew so much about the in and out of of the whole area. They taught us so much about the manatees and all the other sea life we saw. We learned about the history of everything. Very knowledgeable and very chill and friendly. They were killer amazing with the kids. We have 3 kids 13,11 and 5. Not only did they goof and play with them but they taught them how to snorkel and showed them amazing time . My baby has special Needs and was getting upset at first and another instructor from another tour Celeste came over calmed him down and he was smiling and loving the manatees. They were all good friends and all helped each other out. It was like every one was so nice and all friends. This was the best experience we had and I would do it again and again. We even got pictures that were amazing!! We saw so many manatees. We saw mama and her baby, them swimming and in big groups. We saw them sleeping and eating. Way bigger in person. They come right up to face fro face with you. They are so adorable!!!

Small Business, Big Vibes: Local Owned/Run

Really great experience, Tommy and Bailey were super knowledgeable, friendly, and communicative, and even though we came at the wrong season, we got to see their resident manatee Billy Idle and follow him around for a while. The three springs were beautiful, and the water was lovely. Such a unique experience, we had a better view of the manatee than the kayakers, and could get fairly up close and personal with our snorkels. There were a lot of other fish visible in the water as well, so there was always something to see. Bailey took some great photos and videos especially of the manatee and I’m grateful to have more keepsakes from this experience. Size inclusive wetsuits - goes up to 5x for adults, photos/videos are free with the experience, the people who work here are all local, and the company is locally owned so you’re supporting a small business.

Best Kayak Adventure

The clear kayaks were alot of fun. The tour was 2 hours or more. One guide Lilly was amazing. Lilly and Lisa were very welcoming. They explained what to expect and gave us bags to protect our phones from the water. Lilly spoke about the area and of course manatees. We were ablebto see 5 manatees close up, even though it wasn't manatee season. Lilly took us the Three Sisters Springs, we we were able to swim The water was crystal clear. It We had a great time.

Five Star Experience.

We had a great day and our Captain Jake and in water guide and photographer Crystallynne were both 5++ stars. They found us a manatee and we were the only 4 people viewing him. Worth adding this to your Crystal River visit

Really great experience with Captain Glen and our guide Michelle. It’s summer, so not manatee season, but they make sure to know the spots where you’ll still get an encounter. Got to experience a mother and her little calf grazing. Was a very cool sight and they let us stay with them for 30 minutes while they swam and the baby was curious swimming on each side of her mother to check us out. Then we went to see the spring and swim around for a bit. The gift shop is super cute and you can purchase pictures of your experience.

Guide Storm and Captain...

Guide Storm and Captain Ryan led an amazing tour! It was a busy holiday weekend and they tried to make sure we were still seeing plenty of manatees, but respectfully. They were super knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and the entire tour from check in to finish was ran smoothly. Would absolutely do this again!
