What are people saying about Tokyo

Fun, but a bit uncomfortable.
Pros: Delicious and plentiful food, gorgeous scenery, and beautiful shamisem performance. Hostess was very nice and service was fast.
Cons: No chairs provided, so be prepared to sit on the floor. If you face the windows, you have no back support. If you have difficulty getting up and down from a chair, getting up off the floor while on a moving boat is almost impossible.

Great Experience!
Sumi and Aiko were both amazing! Sumi explained the steps to a traditional tea ceremony very well and it was very informative. Aiko took pictures, videos, and dressed us up in the kimono. Overall it was great experience and I would recommend it for first timers traveling here!

Amazing Cultural Experience!
I absolutely loved this experience. The two sumo wrestlers were high energy and very interactive with the crowd. I enjoyed learning about the traditions of sumo and the geisha performance. The food was so delicious and beautifully presented. The beef in the soup was definitely high quality. I would recommend this activity for quests of all ages. My 9-year old son and my 80-year old mother in law both enjoyed the experience.

Magnificent and...
Magnificent and intimidate time spent at this Geisha experience for my husband and I. We were anticipating it to be busy as it was Friday evening but we were the only patrons. Worked out well for us since it gave us time to interact with the 2 Geishas - we asked them a lot of questions of the history and culture. We then learned some local games, one very similar to rock paper scissors. The food portion was prefect and good. Overall experience was wonderful and we walked away very pleased and enjoyed our time. Highly recommend!

Informative and fun class
Instructions for the meeting place were provided but Google send me to the wrong place. Look for the front of the building.
The class was great. He provided information on the sword and defense. He provided the samurai clothes and we snap some pictures/ video during the class.
You will leave learning some skills and smile on your face.

Great Experience in Asakusa
The class was a lot of fun and a great activity to do in Asakusa. The chef and guide were both great at explaining the background behind the class and instructions on making the sushi and matcha. It’s a nice small group too. Well worth it and would definitely recommend.

Great class!
We had a fantastic time making Sushi with Chef Tanaka and guide AJ. The instruction was thorough and chef Tanaka was patient and helpful with my 9 and 12 year old kids. The fish was of course super fresh, and the kids say it’s the highlight of our Tokyo trip so far!

I had such a great experience with this cooking class in Tokyo. The instructors were incredibly informative and explained everything in a way that felt approachable and easy to follow, even for someone who doesn’t regularly cook Japanese food. What I appreciated most was how accessible the recipes were — nothing felt intimidating or overly complicated, and each step was clearly explained. I left the class feeling genuinely confident and excited to try making Japanese dishes again once I got home. It was both educational and empowering, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a hands-on, thoughtful introduction to Japanese cooking.

Nice local night out in Shibuya
Our guide took us to 3 very different local places that we would not have found otherwise. They offered a variety of different types of food and drinks and we enjoyed it all. We were stuffed and you could drink pretty much all you wanted. We had two others with us and the guide (sorry I am not great with names) and they were all great company. It was a nice night out in Shibuya.

Best cooking class!
This is the second cooking class we have taken on our current Japan trip and this one is the ONE! We learned so much and had fun at this class. The food was so good. Our friends did the first class with us and not this one and we are so sad they missed this experience. I can not recommend this class enough!

You are missing out if you don't book this now!
Just fantastic. If my grandmother was Japanese and had a cooking class in the middle of Tokyo, yet in a very quiet and peaceful residential area, this would be it! Class is 10 people, very clean informative and friendly. I've taken similar courses in other cities but this was my favorite!

great fun and intro!
really fun class intro to pottery. Jumpai (sp?) was an excellent instructor. know you won't have any finished pieces but at a cost and a few weeks time your pottery can be completed for you and shipped. currently not to USA though. learned a lot, fun evening spent. near the tokyo tower!
