The experience was absolutely incredible. I went with a friend, but whether you’re alone or with family, it remains unforgettable. The sensei taught us what it means to be a true samurai — from the mindset to the movements. They dressed us in authentic samurai attire, and to top it all off, there was a professional photo shoot. It was a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

I would love to give 10 stars. Jyro and his assistant got us dressed up as samurai warriors. Full costume. Sword handling was demonstrated with real swords. Next, Sword handling and combat technique was demonstrated with actual size, plastic swords which were close to the real ones. We practiced sword moves and fighting. Really. Next, with wooden sword replicas we did some actual combat. Remember when you were a kid and played sword fighting. This was the real thing.
The costumes were real.
Lots of photos were taken with our own cameras and theirs. Got a SD card with their pix.
This was an amazing experience. We were amazed at how much technique was taught and demonstrated.
I have a photo ID that shows I am a “certified” Samurai.

This was a highlight on our 2 week trip to Japan! Jiro and Aya was so friendly and accommodating. The kids absolutely loved it, and so did the grownups :) We got some amazing photos and absolutely brilliant and hilarious videos of us doing a ninja movie! Our family would 100% recommend this to anyone traveling to Tokyo and want to have a memorable and fun experience!

It was amazing time … a private class for only our group with Jiro as a teacher and his assistant !

My family and i had so much fun with this experience. Our sensei was kind, patient and easy to understand and follow. He paired up with my 11year old during simulated combat and made him feel comfortable. Sensei also laughed along with us throughout the training. I highly recommend this experience to all ages.

We were late. Took taxi. They put on the full training, and were fun to learn from. Got a certificate, memory chip and they did movies with my tablet. Professional and fun.

This is one of the best things to do in Asakusa! The sensei (trainer) was very knowledgeable, patient and kind. The lady assistant was very kind and nice too. The samurai training was amazing and makes you fully understand what it was like to be a samurai and the power of the katana. They took amazing pictures and videos of the training. I highly recommend and this is a must to do!

Jiro and his assistant were so friendly, and kind! They taught us so much and made this a very fun experience! If you come to Japan, please go to Asakusa and have this experience! It’s about an hour long but so worth it! Definitely one of the best experiences we had here! So many photo ops and they give you a flash drive with photos they take and a diploma at the end. Great keepsakes to take home! Thank you so much!

My teenage boys say that the Samurai training was definitely a highlight of their Japan holiday! Jiro was amazing and patient as well as very funny for us parents watching. The boys loved the choreographed routine he taught them and practice it often! Jiro is even a fantastic photographer taking professional photos and giving me the memory card to download at home. The final video of their "battle" is amazing and it is one of the first experiences we show all our friends from our time in Japan!

This is for people with no basics in Samurai sword handling at all. It's a short course 1 to 1.5 hours including the meeting point to wearing the japanese kimono, photos, etc.
It covers drawing and sheathing of swords, slash movements and a basic swordplay exercise. They will take nice photos and videos of the whole exercise on your smartphone if you allow them and also gives you an SD card.
Jiro (the instructor) and Aya (his assistant and helper) were very nice and great! Thanks!

If you’re not expecting a hard core dojo experience then you won’t be disappointed. A fun way to spend the morning learning a little about Samurai tradition and working a small sweat. Very patient Sensei and helper. Once again though, temper your expectations—my son is a second degree black belt and he had fun but also recognized this isn’t exactly an intense dojo experience. Do it, have fun, laugh a little, sweat a little then grab lunch!

Fantastic fun for a family visiting Tokyo! The team has great authentic samurai apparel and we learned a great foundation on how to handle the sword. The whole family had a blast learning how to spar. The is by far the most memorable and special experience for our kids over our 2 weeks in Tokyo. To top it all off, they take professional photos and will even use your phone to take videos of your progress. This is so appreciated because as parents we were able to really enjoy the experience and participate with our kids while also having timeless treasures. This is the one of the most exciting things we talk to our friends and family about when asked about our trip. One of our friends is headed to Tokyo in the Spring with her family and is already planning to do this because of how great our experience was. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, you won’t regret it.

The whole family had a great time with our Samurai experience. We dressed in traditional Samurai clothing, and learned how to properly draw and holster our swords. Then we learned some sword skills and staged mock battles. We came home with lots of pictures and videos, along with our official Samurai license! Definitely recommended for anyone interested in Samurai!

By far one of the best experiences!! We only had a few days in Japan before continuing our travel, this was definitely one of the coolest things we did! All the staff are super friendly. They took some pictures of you and then continued on to the lesson. The instructor even videos the battle you have. Such a great time!! Definitely worth doing when you are in Tokyo!
