This was such a fun and educational experience for my family! My boys (9 + 11 years old) thoroughly enjoyed! But honestly it was unexpectedly one of my favorite things we did in Tokyo! It was a small audience, which made it more intimate! Everyone had a great view of the show! The food they made was delicious, also one of my favorite meals! The sumo wrestlers were so funny and entertaining! They taught everyone a little bit about the sport of sumo! Then they let everyone who wanted to challenge a sumo wrestler in a sumo wrestler suit! Pretty much everyone did it! I would highly recommend this activity for anyone who is interested!

The best part of the trip. Absolutely amazing experience. Lovely host, legendary wrestlers and great food!!!
Overall, it was a great experience from beginning to end. The combination of athletic displays, supportive staff, and memorable interactions created a birthday celebration we’ll remember for a long time. If you’re considering it, I’d recommend booking in advance and arriving early to soak in the atmosphere.
A super fun experience and tasty lunch. We did it our first full day in Tokyo and the whole family loved it. It set the mood for a great trip. Staff were friendly and helpful. We learned a lot about sumo and then got to try it out ourselves. The wrestlers were engaging with great senses of humour. Highly recommend for all ages.
Food was good, sumos and the announcer did a great job including the audience, they were funny and inviting. All of my family had a good time kids 11-18.
Very entertaining show that taught us about sumo wrestling and was also very funny. Highly recommend!
I wasn't sure what to expect, but this turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. The experience offers much more than just watching sumo wrestling—it provides an engaging introduction to the history and traditions of sumo, followed by the opportunity to enjoy a traditional chanko meal, the hearty dish famously eaten by sumo wrestlers.
The live wrestling demonstration was entertaining, but the real fun came at the end when audience members had the chance to step into the ring and challenge a sumo wrestler. It made for a lot of laughs and created some unforgettable memories.
If you're looking for a unique cultural experience that's both educational and interactive, I highly recommend this event. I had an amazing time and would absolutely do it again!
Really awesome experience - definitely book a ring seat table.
Food is awesome. Sumo was better. Really fun family entertainment
Best sumo experience. The show was informative, funny and entertaining. We loved how interactive it was.
While in Japan, we dreamed of going to a real sumo match, only to learn, we were hitting them in the off month so we decided to do this experience to get a taste of sumo wrestling and I’m so glad we did! We learned about the training process, how matches work, etc. all while having a great meal made by the actual wrestlers (you learn why during the show)!! At the end, you can sign a waiver and experience being in the ring with one. Our son volunteered and was so glad he did because when will you ever have a chance to “wrestle” a retired sumo wrestler! Many laughs were had during the show and the staff was very responsive and nice, always checking on us. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this show or recommend to anyone. Pro tip: pay a little more and book the front row seating. I’m so glad we did; my husband got to interact with one of the wrestlers and u have the best viewing. Don’t sleep on this show!
Came for this and did not disappoint! One of the highlights of my trip! Gave me a glimpse into the world of sumo wrestling—and the chance to experience it firsthand. Must do activity in Tokyo. Highly recommended!
Amazing, at first you think nothing of it, then it's culture. Family fun that will make you laugh. They are so well-spirited and encourage you to join in on the fun.
As a family of 4 we truly enjoyed ourselves. Everyone was so kind and the energy was so great. My kids loved the show and my husband & I even got to wrestle with the crew in sumo wrestling outfits.
A fun and unique experience. Learned so much about SUMO wrestling. The food was good! The announcer was helpful in translating answers
Incredible experience. Must do when in Tokyo. Incredibly friendly staff and overall wonderful experience.
This was such a fun experience. I learned so much about sumo and had such a good time volunteering to go against sumo wrestlers that were there. I'd definitely recommend this experience.
An excellent introduction to Sumo! Very informative and entertaining. The included lunch prepared by the sumo wrestlers is delicious, and the show is fabulous (and interactive if you’re brave enough to take on an ex-professional sumo wrestler!). We also had the opportunity to ask any questions we had, and to take photos with the wrestlers at the end of the session.
The Sumo Show was one if the highlights of our trip to Japan. The food was delicious and the wrestlers and staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and put on an amazing show. I highly recommend and would definitely visit again.
This was a great time, fantastic show, and a very yummy meal! We had so much fun and would definitely go again! Don’t miss it!
We had lunch first and then 2 sumotori played with each other meanwhile a woman was giving some info.
People from the audience could participate and try to push those big guys.
It was a really fun experience. Food was good. Good information given about auno wrestling. The Sumo guys and the woman introduction them were all very entertaining!
This activity definitely punched above its weight! Initially, we looked into attending a live Sumo match, but unfortunately none of the tournaments were happening while we were in town so booked this as a best alternative after reading the reviews - REALLY glad we did! For those of us who are not really knowledgeable about Sumo, this was a perfect introduction to the sport and its history. We enjoyed hearing directly from the wrestlers about their experiences in and out of the ring, the food they prepared was delicious, and the opportunity to "wrestle" them in the ring was a memory we (and our teenage nephews) never forget!
A little bit of history, a whole lot of humour, we had so much fun at this event. The lunch was good, and the performance was excellent.
As first timers in Japan, we went to this tour knowing it was for tourists and it would be slightly cheesy. It exceeded our expectations. The meal was tasty but mediocre, exactly as expected. The show itself was a lot of fun. We learned a lot about Sumo wrestling. We were also smart enough not to challenge the 500 pound guys at the end, though it looked a lot of fun to try.
Fun experience. The wrestlers were very entertaining and we enjoyed the show. The food was terrible unless you like bland greasy pork filets.
Such a fun and positive experience! We enjoyed the history, the food, and the demonstration. We had time at the end to ask questions and take photos. The staff was very kind, quick to offer to take our photo, spoke English well and were easy to understand. The retired Sumo wrestlers seem to enjoy this work and had a bit of fun, making jokes, along the way. Totally family friendly! Also, very supportive of the kids (and adults) as they try their hand at battling the wrestlers. Definitely recommend.
These were real sumo wrestlers (daughter in law had seen one of them in a wrestling match in San Diego)
The explanation in English of traditions customs and moves was great.
Lunch was fine dining and filling
Loved the show. Provided a lot of information on
Sumo rules, training, career path…
Audience participation part was a blast!
The experience was very family friendly and fun! The interaction with the sumo wrestlers was unique and interesting.
The food was okay, we didn’t really eat that much hit other people did, but the experience is really what it is about! Definitely worth doing!
Highly recommend this experience! The staff was really nice and knowledgeable. The food was amazing!
Omg what an experience. Food was amazing. The show was funny and very entertaining. Highly recommend.
