Perfect day

Steven was the best driver/guide we could’ve asked for. Communication was great and port pick up was easy. We had a full day and saw so much more than we expected. We travel with walkers and portable oxygen and he arranged everything to minimize walking and still allow us to experience as much as we could. We saw Houtong cat village, coal museum, tons of scenery and then headed to Tapei to see the major sights as well as some exhibits at the Palace Museum. At several stops he dropped us and then parked and met us at the doors which was truly helpful! We asked so many questions and learned so much from him. Definitely went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful day. We would recommend him to anyone!

A fantastic day trip

It’s a full day so comfortable shoes, umbrella or rain mac (depending on weather) and cash a must. Jack Chou was an absolutely fantastic guide. He swiftly moved us through crowds, parked quickly, knew all the best photo spots and had a lot of knowledge of the whole area and Taipei in general. He booked us a fabulous table in Juifen overlooking the sea and was just a joy to be around. Thinking about it afterwards, there is logistically no way we could have seen all that and done so much on our own. A very worthwhile tour of Taipei and its surrounding areas.

Great tour with Steven

Our tour guide was Steven and from the start he was outstanding! He gave us an itinerary the day before that laid out everything we were going to do and the rough timeline. He picked us up right at 7am and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took us to all the great places we wanted to go and gave us great background on the area. 🔓 Key Taiwan Memories Unlocked

I considered this tour for weeks and kept telling myself I could just do it on my own. While going solo would have afforded me more time in each place, it also would have added on so much more stress. Our tour guide, Kate, was such a character. I enjoyed her stories and suggestions. Loved the food options she recommended, especially at Shifen. One thing I wish I knew ahead of time (though I’m sure reviews probably mentioned and I just overlooked) was that an umbrella wouldn’t be enough to deal with the rain in Jiufen and especially the Geopark. My stuff in my backpack got pretty soaked at Jiufen. Luckily, there were lots of poncho options outside of the Geopark so that helped me get less soaked than I otherwise would’ve been. The tea at the famous A-Mei Teahouse exceeded my expectations, and I actually really loved doing the lantern activity at Shifen. Highlights of the day for sure. Lastly, I love that they dropped us off at Raohe Night Market. It was the perfect ending to the day. Look, I get it, I’m one of those people often reluctant to do this type of touristy tour but I actually think this one was so worth it. So just book it already!

Biking fun in Taipei.

This was an amazing opportunity to see the inner sights of beautiful TaipeI. Rita, our guide was amazing and guided us successfully through streets to visit temples, memorial places and along the beautiful biking river trail. We also had the chance to eat a traditional Taiwanese breakfast and enjoyed the fresh air and friendly faces along the journey. WELL WORTH THE TIME.

Beautiful Taroko Gorge

Aaron was a very smooth and safe driver, which we really appreciated because it turned out to be a much longer trip than expected. The drive to the gorge had a lot of traffic due to ongoing repairs after the earthquake. Although the tour description says about 2.5 hours, it ended up taking closer to 4 hours each way, so it was a very long day. The scenery at the gorge was truly beautiful and worth seeing, but because of the current road conditions and renovations, I would personally recommend waiting until more of the repairs are finished before taking this tour. That said, Aaron did an excellent job making the best of a difficult situation. He stayed patient in the heavy traffic and kept the trip as comfortable as possible. We really appreciated his professionalism and calm driving throughout the long journey. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had the best time with Kate our guide! We booked the tasting for later in the day so we ended up in a night market and it was fantastic! We were able to see all kinds of traditional food and the history behind it but we also got to try some new trendy night food. We also got to see some temples and saw the history of Taipei. Kate made us feel so welcomed and she just loves her city. She made sure to show us amazing stands that were DELICIOUS. I’m also writing this the next day and can confirm the food is all safe and did not give my husband and I an upset stomach.

This private tour was such a great experience! My review is based on the itinerary, the guide, and the value of a private tour. Itinerary: We knew we wanted to see some of these sights outside of Taipei, and it was arranged quite well to fit in a lot in a compact day without ever feeling rushed. There was also quite a bit of flexibility built in to the agenda. We felt like we saw touristy sightseeing spots without feeling like they were simple, shallow hops. Guide: A was hands-down amazing, and we’d gladly book & request her again in the future. My parents already have future trips to Taiwan planned and will be booking through this company and guide again. A was an extremely efficient and smooth driver, despite the rain, the winding mountain roads, and bits of traffic. She had plenty of professional commentary to share about the sites, extended extra courtesy and hospitality to my elderly parents (age 78 & 80), and we even had great conversations about coffee, food, and nutrition. We were also impressed by her ability to comfortably float between English, Taiwanese, and Mandarin to accommodate our various levels of language proficiency. Really couldn’t recommend An higher. Private tour: This is really the way to go, especially to preserve the magic of a family vacation. Memories, comfort, and experience are worth the investment, if you can afford it. Highly recommend it, especially for such a long day of travel.

Great Walking Day Tour of Yangmingshan National Park

Wonderful and relaxing day touring Yangmingshan National Park. Our delightful guide from Edison Tours was terrific. He had excellent English and knew a great deal about the park. He follows the itinerary perfectly, kept us all on track, and knew when to talk and guide then give us free time. He provided excellent, clear directions and descriptions for all out stops and even helped take some great photos for us. I probably would not have had a chance to visit the park on my own during my stay in Yaiwan, so taking this trip proved to be a pleasure and long, busy, but highly enjoyable day. We even made a stop at the "greenhouse" at the park for a very traditional Chinese lunch and it was not only a wonderful cultural experience, but the garlic and chicken soup I ordered was delicious and perfect for the day. Edison Tours, incidentally, was extremely efficient and clear with their communications and meeting directions. Super cheerful, friendly, helpful.
