Kyudo is a Japanese martial art based on shooting an arrow from a Japanese bow to a target to reach a complete focus of mind and body. The main difference of kyudo and western archery is that, in kyudo, every movement follows a traditional routine that pays respect to the equipment and to the opponent. You will come to the archery range and dress in an authentic kyudo uniform, which will include dogi—the upper wear—and hakama—the lower wear. I'll give a brief explanation about the art of kyudo as well as instructions and demonstrations. With the knowledge you'll gain, you will learn to shoot arrows at the target. You'll also understand the fun and challenging aspect of the sport, particularly while wearing the traditional hakama and armor. Usually in kyudo, you are not allowed to pull the arrow unless you master the basics. But during our lesson, you will be able to enjoy the real kyudo experience even as a complete beginner. Loved our guide!!

Where to begin?! This was the best day ever and our guide made it happen. Kazuko is a retired school teacher who made learning fun. We used every transportation known (boat, bus, car and train) and were always on time. She made sure we had great pics and took many of us for memories. She had a great sense of humor. It was clear she loves her country and sharing it. We would request her for all our excursions if possible!!

Must-Do Day Trip

I took the Shinkansen from Osaka to join and I’m so glad I set aside a day for this tour! Marin was a fantastic tour guide who was knowledgeable, friendly, and kept us all organized. This was my first tour in Japan, as I’ve managed other excursions independently but it was so much easier to trust Marin with the logistics and be able to see a lot in one day, while not feeling rushed. Best Guide and Experience!

We could not have asked for a better guide than Yuji-san. He has so much knowledge about Hiroshima and Miyajima and was able to answer any and all questions that we had. From efficiently guiding us through trains, ferries, and buses, we were able to experience so much of both Japan's beauty and culture through him. Visiting Hiroshima and Miyajima would not have been the same without him. Highly recommend and when we are in Hiroshima again, I would not hesitate to take this same tour with Yuji-san. Our BEST Guided Tour Ever

Our tour guide Cva was extremely knowledgeable (he had just completed a Double Degree, including one related to Hiroshima and Peace Studies), and he was obviously passionate about sharing this with us and our fellow tour group members. Having visited the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum and Peace Park eight days earlier, we knew what to expect, but the information Cva shared with all of us included some surprising things my wife and I didn't know, including that it was only after Russia had declared war on Japan that led to Japan's unconditional surrender, not the two atomic bombs dropped by the United States. We very highly recommend this tour, and suggest you request Cva as your guide. Thank you Cva.

Our Day with Yoshi

We had a really wonderful...

We had a really wonderful experience with our tour guide Khan. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Hiroshima and he did a great job explaining the cultural significance of all the monuments in the peace park. Definitely well worth the money for the tour and he was also very patient with our 8 month old on the tour.

Excellent excursion

It was an awesome experience. The Peace Memorial is a must for every visitor to Japan. The Miyajima island is also not to be missed. Our guide Takane was very good in managing our group and provided all the necessary historical information needed to understand the sites we visited. Our bus driver, Mr. Yamamoto, made the trip even more memorable by making each one of us a paper crane and a paper shurikin ; it was such a sweet gesture!

Outstanding tour and guide

Very well managed by Alan our guide, despite big Golden Week crowds. Excellent seamless translation between English and Spanish by him. He was very informative, culturally sensitive and managed the group logistics brilliantly in both locations. The amount of time allocated during the day between the 2 locations was well planned and made for an informative, fun, and satisfying day with easy transport!!
