Great day tour!

Great experience to see Tiananmen Square and the Great Wall! Lunch was really good and the tea ceremony was super interesting and fun! Only thing I wish was different is that I wish they told us about the extremely long wait to get through security for the square. A memorable and exciting fay for me!

We were able to get checked by security fairly quickly. Our guide, Mary, kept us entertained by lots of fun stories, facts and important historical dates. She reviewed this information throughout the day to help us make the connections with what we were seeing within the walls of the Forbidden City. It was a lovely morning and at the end of the tour, Mary pointed me in the right direction to walk to the top of Jingshan Hill (opposite north exit) and also gave me recommendations for lunch. A memorable and exciting day for me! Can't wait to choose another fascinating tour!

I would highly recommend this tour to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall as it was convenient and efficient. We timed our hotel pickup to be at 6am so we could arrive by the 7:30am opening, avoiding as much of the heat and crowds as we could. Our guide Shane was great—he provided a lot of information about the history of the Great Wall and other parts of Chinese culture as well as giving us recommendation of things to see and places to eat in Beijing.

The best bucket list trip ever. Our guide Lucy. Was so informative all day, but with energy and never bored. lol. What a tremendous adventure. 15,000 steps later, I’m heading to the spa to re-live the day and sort my pictures. Plan to move.. a lot! So much fun.

Bring your passport!! Security for this tour, specifically Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City were stricter than any airport I’ve ever been through. No tour changes that so be prepared and travel light. Bags are VERY thoroughly searched. Our tour guide, Mary, was knowledgeable and made it possible for us to see so many sights in one day. If you only have two days in Beijing as we did, book this tour!

Terrific day! Lucy was...

Terrific day! Lucy was our guide and she was fantastic. Communication was superb and the trip was well organised. Lucy was in touch the night before to introduce herself and clarify timing (I chose hotel pickup), etc. Generally, I prefer to travel on my own but I am so so glad that I chose a group for this one. Navigating tickets and logistics and shuttle busses seems like it would be a challenge. The day was quite flexible and Lucy was very clear explaining our options - for example the slide had a 90 min queue so you could go down by chairlift or walk up to the other cable car if you wished. There was loads of time to walk wherever you wanted and the bus was blissfully well air conditioned (also had a fridge and a coffee maker!). Definitely recommend this trip. Bring sunscreen, drink water (she had some on the bus) and if you’re lucky you’ll get Lucy!

Great tour of the Great Wall

We had a private family tour Lucy who was an amazing tour guide! She and our driver Yang were right on time for the pick-up at the hotel. Lucy had an in-depth knowledge of the historical and cultural aspects of the tour, and she explained everything in very easy-to-understand english. We were there on a monday during the school holidays (the busiest day of the week), but she managed to make the experience fun and informative. The car ride was very comfortable on a very hot day. Highly recommend both Lucy and Yang.
