Hiring a driver for two hours was absolutely fabulous in Sitka! We had a wonderful, knowledgeable, friendly tour guide by the name of Kerry!

We thought we booked a trip with them specifically in the morning and they changed the time to afternoon and did send us that info via email but we did not realize it! So we walked around and saw most of the things they were planning on taking us to. So you could save that $385 and do the majority of it on your own. Our tour guide Kari was extremely knowledgeable, kind and did take us to a few other places though.

Carrie was awesome and really knowledgeable about Sitka and the history of the area - we were able to see so much and so comfortably- Alaska Raptors, the Bears, Russian Orthodox Church, the totems, had Ludwig’s crab chowder..

This was a great option as we did many things offered by shore excursion in a shorter time. We saw Fortress of the Bear, raptor center, went over the bridge, hiked in the rainforest, and went through town. Carrie also recommended some excellent chowder to try and it was so good. The entry fees were not included but still a good deal for a few people traveling together.

We traveled with two teenagers and all four of us very much enjoyed our tour guide and her choices. She took use to the bear rescue center and raptor rescue center. Our teens felt that the bear center was one of the highlights of our Alaska cruise.

I'm very disappointed with Baranof Taxi & Tours. We had our tour confirmed and pay for way before our cruise. We reserved the private tour for 11 am since the ship was planned to arrive and 10 am. Baranof change the plan and send me an email one day before the planned tour, knowing that we were sailing and that it was impossible for me to receive any email by then.
The ship docked at 10 am and all passengers could disembark at 10:30. By 5 min passed 11 we started to call Baranof and a fellow named Pad told us our tour bus had departed since 10:00 am which was not the agreement!!!! He refused by all means to help us out. But thank God we manage to get another tour from another company, and we still could enjoy Sitka. In the meantime, I've been refunded for this tour and for me this case is closed.

Carry was great, friendly & so knowledgeable. We definitely recommend the excursion and the company. Would recommend it if we wanted to stop and see something she was more than willing to do that. It was just so much easier than being on a big bus full of people.

Keri is very informative! She’s a local and knows the area very well. She even took us to a new place (mountain), very nice view, as long as you’re not afraid of heights. It’s also close to the cruise ship docks. 🙂

Keri (Carrie ??) provided us with a wonderful day of experiencing Sitka!! Visiting the bear and eagle centers, we got to see members of the Alaskan wilderness up close. i'm sure our guide was very knowledgeable about the area, but had a very soft voice, so it was difficult to hear her. The vehicle we were in evidently had a slow leak in one tire that was known before our trip, but was not repaired. Our driver would use a portable pump to try to pump the tire to get to the next stop. We finally decided to walk back.

Our driver (Kari ) was exceptional ! She was so very knowledgeable about Sitka and the many points of interest she showed us in addition to the places we had originally planned to visit. We booked a three hour trip and never did she make us feel rushed to get to the end of our adventure. She was extremely knowledgeable and a “hoot” to be around. Definitely made the day perfect for the four of us

Fantastic tour with Kerry- she was so knowledgeable and had us at the Bear and Raptor centers before the crowds. It was pouring rain ( and hail) but it was the perfect way to spend our morning in Sitka. I highly recommend this tour.

Kerry was a great guide. She was very accommodating . She gave us a great overview of the town of Sitka. We booked a 2 hour tour because that was all that was available. I initially wanted a 3 hour tour. The shorter tour worked out okay for us because we are mobile. Kerry dropped us off and gave us walking directions to complete a downhill tour of Sitka highlights (Raptor center and national historical park). However, if you are not mobile, I recommend longer private tour.
