As the second most popular attraction in Italy after the Vatican Museums, the Colosseum hosts some 4 million annual visitors. This means that booking tickets—or a tour that includes admission—in advance is a must. Choose from a number of tours suited to any age or interest, such as an underground tour that heads beneath the arena floor to explore a network of passages or night tours that offer relief from the daytime heat. Consider group tours, self-guided audio tours, or private tours to gain an understanding of this well-preserved ancient Roman amphitheater and its historical importance.

Admission tickets to the Colosseum go on sale exactly 30 days in advance and generally sell out quickly. Book a Colosseum tour that includes admission to ensure access even when advance tickets are sold out online. Express tours of the Colosseum last about 90 minutes, while tours that also include visits to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill average around three hours.

Well worth it!!
We enjoyed this so much! Alessandra was our guide and she had so much knowledge and experience through education and practice that we learned so much from her. She pointed out so many interesting things and took her time explaining things to us. We are glad we did this tour and that we got to be with Alessandra!

Journey Back in Time
A wonderful full day away from Rome while seeing amazing ruins in Pompeii and magnificent views atop Mt. Vesuvius. What we recognized is the sense of life walking the preserved streets of Pompeii. You could almost sense the people going about their daily business, before the eruption. We did not expect the size of the city and the details still vivid from the homes and business. Anna, our guide was fantastic, lunch was very good, and the bus travel there and back provided a beautiful view of Italy's countryside.

Emma was a fantastic guide at the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and Saint Peters Basilica. As we learned, having a good guide on a tour makes all the difference! This was one of our favorite activities in Rome! Thank you Viator and Emma for providing and being such a great guide!

Very easy to find the meeting point to download the audio guide and have them take us to the front of the line. Highly recommend or else we would’ve waited an hour plus…which wouldn’t have been fun with a baby! Audio guide was 20 min which was the perfect amount of time. Glad we booked this!
