Maria was a great guide! She knew the best shaded places to stop and teach before we were overwhelmed with beauty. Learning about the Sistine Chapel and what to look for before entering made the first experience for me entirely surreal. Maria had a wealth of knowledge of the areas and a great sense of humor keeping the tour entertaining and educational. I’d highly recommend to anyone in the area wanting to see the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s. We hardly waited in line!

We had a wonderful day! Raffy from Liv Tours was our guide. She was wonderful in every way! We were running late! Beware, it is a FULL 2 hour $200 taxi ride from the port in Civitaveccia, so be prepared for this! There were no taxis waiting at 7am, so we were fortunate to ride with 3 Australians who had lined up a car to pick them up. They had paid $238 for the van. We texted Viator and heard back from Liv Tours. They kept in touch with me every bit of the way until we arrived. We had a personal tour for 2 at 9am. We arrived about 9:15 and Raffy assured us she would make it all work. You only have 30 minutes to get inside the Vatican, so that indeed worked out. Raffy was full of information about everything we saw, showed us some short cuts around the big crowds, and got us where we needed to be. She had a wonderful book (which we later bought) that provided great pictures to illustrate what we would see inside. It was helpful to see it in the book before we saw it in person. Every room in the museums are grand! The Sistine Chapel is magnificent. We ended up needing food and drink due to the heat and close conditions. Raffy brought us to the cafeteria. This used valuable time but was necessary. She explained how we could see so much more, even after she had to leave us. She left after 3 hours, but had prepared us for what to see and how to do it to maximize our time. We climbed to the top of the dome. If you are up to it, I think you will love it. It is by far the best view of St Peter's Square. The lines and walk up and down took about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Then we went into St Peter's Basilica, like Raffy told us how to do. She directed us to the Pieta, which you don't want to miss. The church is absolutely grand. I was shocked to see that we had spent nearly 8 hours here! Raffy even told us where to eat afterwards and to use Uber for the best cab rates back to the ship. She was full of helpful hints and knowledge. We strongly recommend Raffy, the Sistine Chapel, St Peter's Basilica, St Peter's square, and the dome climb.

We absolutely loved the Trevi Fountain Underground Tour! It was fascinating to discover the history and hidden world beneath one of Rome’s most famous landmarks. Our guide, Alexia, was wonderful—knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the history she shared. She made the experience both fun and informative. Such a unique way to see another side of Rome, and definitely worth doing. Highly recommend!
