The Highlight of Our Trip- Absolutely Worth It!

Our Best of Amalfi Coast & Pompeii: Exclusive Private Day Experience was truly the highlight of our trip! Mario, our knowledgeable and accommodating tour operator and Pompeii guide, was wonderful. He graciously granted our last-minute request to add a family member to our private tour, which was originally booked for three. His communication was clear and detailed, especially regarding the pickup arrangements. Eugene was an excellent driver—funny, friendly, and safe. Our Mercedes van was comfortable and spotless. Following Mario’s recommendation to depart at 7:30 AM helped us avoid heavy traffic and return promptly to our cruise ship at Napoli port by 3:30 PM. We had time to shop, grab snacks, and enjoy lunch in beautiful Positano and Sorrento. The additional fee for a guided tour of Pompeii was absolutely worth it! We highly recommend Mario and Eugene to anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii, especially cruise passengers. They were professional and well organized, and the experience was unforgettable from start to finish!!

Tony was fantastic from start to finish. He was right on time, friendly, and full of great stories and local knowledge about every town we passed through. He knew exactly when to leave to beat the crowds and the big tour buses, so we never felt rushed. He also stopped at the best photo spots along the coast. We were lucky to have perfect weather, with clear blue skies and sparkling water all day, and Tony made the most of it with views we never would have found on our own. His lunch recommendation was a highlight too: delicious food with a stunning view over the sea. He got us back on schedule without any stress.

Excellent tour and great tour guide.

We arranged this while on a cruise. Prompt pick up- good communication leading up to our meeting. Our guide was friendly and had lots of good information. Pompeii is a must see place and we are so thankful we could hire a private guide. So much better of an experience. The cost was only slightly more than a group tour and we got a much better experience. Just enough time in the area which is spectacular. We then asked some questions about a place to eat pizza and got a great recommendation. Highly recommend.

Perfect day with Franco!

We booked this tour for flexibility and our driver/guide Franco could not have been more accommodating! We visited Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello and he recommended the proper Length of time to visit each. Along the way he recommended a FABULOUS restaurant high above the sea and avoiding the Amalfi crowds. Franco has a wonderful voice and regaled us with a couple of opera songs during our drive. By the end of the day we felt like we had a new Italian friend! Loved the entire day!

Pompeii Tour - Before and After

The highlight of the tour of Pompeii was the introduction to the many recently opened buildings and the rooms in them. I went many years ago with my partner and it was a much smaller area open for tourists to visit. So, having Tony as a guide was invaluable to help us from getting lost in all the new space, especially with a family in tow. He answered all our questions with patience and authority. An unexpected highlight was the visit to Herculaneum beforehand, which was interesting and proved a useful contrast to Pompeii, smaller and less diverse (mostly houses of rich people). It put Pompeii in perspective and fed the imagination about what it was like in those days. Very happy to finish with the walk in the national park area up to the volcano and be able to look inside it. Fantastic view from the top over Naples and the Bay. A great experience for all of us, and very informative. Thanks a lot to our guide, Antonino (Tony).

Amazing experience

Salvatore was an AMAZING tour guide! We were back in plenty of time for our ship and never felt rushed. He knew so much about the areas and was super accommodating to anything we wanted to do. We will definitely be requesting him next time we are back! This tour beat the Royal Caribbean one we booked in Santorini by miles and it was SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the exact one Royal offered.

Exceptional in every way!

We organised a trip from Naples to Pompeii & onward transfer to Positano. Tony was absolutely superb. Nothing was too much trouble, everything ran seamlessly, with wonderful & helpful people. Tony even organised to meet us on the return journey to drop off my daughter’s lost bunny that had got taken to the hotel’s laundry company! To say they went above & beyond is an understatement.
