Tony was an excellent driver and guide of the Amalfi Coast. He was very knowledgeable of the area and its history. He took us to the most beautiful panoramic views and taught us so much of the area. He was so friendly and very accommodating and made sure that we got to do and see everything that was on the top of our list. I highly recommend Tony to tour the Amalfi Coast to make it a memorable experience.

Antonio was a wonderful guide. We laughed a lot together and learned some Italian in the way. He is knowledgeable about the history and great stops. Antonio is a master at traffic avoidance with cool backroad back ups and ways to explore with minimal traffic jams. Overall a nice tour with scenic drive. Be prepared to spend time driving around, that’s the only thing is distances are far for a day trip. But must see spots :) overall, a nice day seeing magnificent coastline.

We had a wonderful day trip to Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi. Our guide, Eric, was fantastic. He was warm, friendly and very well informed about the sights. He is also an excellent driver, which turned out to be essential on the narrow winding hill roads.

Alamafi Coast tour

Luigi, our driver and tour guide was amazing. He pointed things out and told about the history and various things as we drove along the Amalfi coast. He gave us recommendations on what to see, where to eat and what beach area to hang out on. However, I felt like it was too much in one day. The itinerary says you have 2 hours at each destination but the “travel time doesn’t really allow for that. We stayed in Positano for 1.5 hours, Amalfi for 2.5 hours but only had 45 minutes (at the most) in Ravello before we had to leave and we didn’t get back to ship til 4:45. Our tour was supposed to end at 4:00. We kept the driver later than was allowed for but he did not mind and was pleasant the whole time — not one complaint!! The scenic route along the way was unbelievably beautiful! The drive is a little scary b/c the roads are so narrow and winding — thankful I was not driving.

We had an absolutely incredible time with Tony! He was punctual, professional, and informative. But more than that, he had a positive attitude and was just fun and easy to be around. He made adjustments to our itinerary to make it our very best day! He was very aware of the time we needed to be back to our ship, yet the day was relaxed. He went out of his way to make our experience seeing the Amalfi Coast absolutely unforgettable- magical. We highly recommended Tony and this private tour.

I would highly recommend this tour. We had a great time with Tony as our tour guide. I was nervous when our cruise changed ports in Naples but Tony was there for us, on time with a smile and ready to take us exploring the coast. It is so beautiful!! We went to the Limoncello factory, Positano, and Ravello. We stopped at various spots along the way to take pictures. Tony called ahead to make reservations for lunch at a gorgeous spot with amazing views. He taught us a little Italian, was knowledgeable, polite, and professional. It was the most fun of all the tours we had during our stay in Italy. Don’t miss a great day visiting the Amalfi coast with Tony!! Arrivederci e Grazie Mille

Tony was punctual, funny, and knowledgeable of the area. He did a great job of navigating us through crowds, picking great photo opportunities, and recommended a great place for lunch. Some of his English was harder to understand than other tour guides but we figured it out together as we learned some Italian. We were grateful to have a safe driver to navigate the intricate roads.

Antonio Campo-Mendez was excellent! He tailored the trip for our needs on the go. We decided not to go to Amalfi because of the crowds and we switched gears and went to a Lemoncello factory instead. He made reservations at the most amazing place for lunch, Calajanara. We were led ahead of the crowd to a beautiful waterside table. Antonio had a wonderful personality, was friendly and engaging, and shared fascinating stories about the local history, culture, and hidden gems along the route. His knowledge and enthusiasm brought the region to life, and he made us feel comfortable and welcome throughout the day. Our unexpected stops at local venues were so much fun. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the Amalfi Coast with a knowledgeable and entertaining guide.

Fantastic Day on the Italian Coast

Dominico greeted us before arriving to pick us up. He was very good with English and his local knowledge sharing specific details of all stops and then some. He offered to take pictures along the way. He also communicated well and made the trip worth the money and time. Only thing I would recommend is a few options for lunch. Lunch was great, and the view but at a very pricey restaurant. Having 2 options would be better. Fantastic Day for my family.

We enjoyed our day with Tony tooling around the Amalfi coast. Battling heavy traffic and a bit of rain, Tony’s experience getting around created an enjoyable day. Tony has a great sense of humor and a deep knowledge of the towns we visited. He also arranged a great lunch that included fresh pasta at a restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean. If you want to spend a day on the Amalfi coast, we highly recommend you request Tony. He was the best!

Mum and I had a great day with Tony our driver who picked up up from the cruise terminal and provided a full day or sight seeing around the Amalfi coast. Tony was a lovely chap, happy and very knowledgeable about the area, history and pretty much anything we asked. Mum had her folding wheelchair with her and Tony was really supportive with her. Highlights included the limoncello factory, lunch overlooking the sea and a trip over the mountain. If we return to the area we’d certainly book with Tony again.

Where do I start with how amazing Tony was on this tour? First, his English is excellent, second, he will teach you some Italian, if you are interested. But most of all, he truly knows and loves this area. We only had 8 hours on a ship excursion to do the Amalfi coast and he made it incredibly memorable. We HIGHLY recommend this tour and Tony if he is available. Bravo Tony, cia cia. Remember to look us up in NC.

I wanted to share with you how wonderful of an experience I had with Tony! He was super friendly and very accommodating. He really knew his area and maneuvered the difficult roads. He took us to all of the most cherished parts of the area and didn’t rush us. He was really good with time management and made sure that we would see everything within a time that was allotted. Very happy guy. He was definitely a hoot!! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves throughout the whole day:) I would recommend this to anyone that’s wanting to have some substance to their trip and really find out more about what the area has to offer. I also thought it was really nice that he tried to teach us a little bit of Italian. I made things fun!! Eric our tour guide was great! Very knowledgeable, took us to the original limoncello factory, made reservations for us at a restaurant with fantastic views of the sea. Eric was a fantastic driver. His demeanor was always upbeat. He showed us exactly the right spots to see and not only that stewardess in every direction that made it easy for us to walk to and get fantastic pictures. Additionally, Eric gave us plenty of space to just enjoy the sites and sounds and shopping on our own. I would highly recommend anybody to take this tour even if you have a little bit of difficulty walking it’s a very tolerable walk and a very comfortable ride

Antonio our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. His experience guided us through a nice day. Unfortunately after we booked the company did not communicate with us. We requested a later pickup time and if Antonio had not been on his game the trip would have been a very unpleasant experience. Although we were on the trip for 7 hours it seemed rushed. Antonio knew the route but advised us that the trip was very crowded.

Tour driver a no show. Losing confidence in Viator.

The driver sent me a message saying he was sick and was canceling our tour. This was 9:00 pm the night before our tour. Now I don’t know how to get my money back.

Hi Karen, as you confirmed in the chat, it wasn't our driver who canceled the tour, but the driver for the Palermo tour the following day! Our driver sent you a message the day before the tour to confirm the next day's pick-up at the port. You didn't receive a response. Despite this, the driver still came to the port as scheduled and waited for you for over 30 minutes. He sent you another message saying he was there waiting for you with a sign with your name on it. You only responded that afternoon, saying she'd received a message from a driver telling her he had a fever and that the tour was therefore canceled. The driver who wrote this was not our driver, but the driver who was going to conduct the tour the following day around Palermo. I don't understand why there's such a negative review on our profile.
