Your morning starts with pickup from the main hotels in central Naples, the Port of Naples, or the Central Train Station. Then, make the roughly 25-minute drive to Pompeii.
On arrival, meet your archaeologist guide and skip the lines and crowds struggling to get in through the ticket office. Spend two hours exploring the open-air ruins.
Next, head back to Naples and board a hydrofoil ferry for a 45-minute ride to Capri. Upon arrival at the Marina Grande, take the funicular to the “Piazzetta” (little plaza) in the town of Capri. Take advantage of your free time to grab coffee at the "Gran Caffè Vuotto" (own expense) and stroll along narrow shop-lined streets.
Don't miss the panoramic views of Capri and the Faraglioni sea stacks from the Gardens of Augustus. Finish the day with drop-off at the Port of Naples or your hotel.

- The tour of Capri is subject to favorable weather conditions. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative tour or full refund
- A current valid passport is required on the day of travel for teenagers and children in order to get the free entrance in Pompeii.
- The live guide inside Pompeii will be replaced by an official interactive audioguide for groups of less than six.
- Children older than 2 years must pay for the hydrofoil ticket.
- The Pickup time MUST BE confirmed via the dashboard based on your accommodation. Tour Departure is NOT the pickup time.

This excursion was wonderful and just what we were looking for. Josie was our guide and she was fabulous. She was caring, informative and so very sweet! Capri was beautiful and Pompei was so interesting. I highly recommend this!

Absolutely horrible experience. Do not book this tour. The meeting time listed was 8am and we were planning to be there by 7:30. We left our bnb at 7:20 and got stuck in traffic. I received a call from the local company at 7:29. The operator was screaming at me and telling me that I was holding up the tour. That the meeting time was 7:30 and we would be met if we didn’t get there. Once we arrived the guide was very cold towards us and didn’t speak to us very much. The whole tour he was very rude and very passive aggressive towards us. The “guide” did not do any guide work. He got us to and from the 2 locations but did not provide any commentary or show us anything. He spoke very little English which is not a problem, but we booked a tour in English. The guide at Pompeii was great but was an independent guide. The van driver was reckless and almost crashed multiple times. On our way back to the meeting point the guide asked if we wanted to be dropped off at the original meeting point or at our hotel/Airbnb. We obviously chose the BnB. All the other guests got dropped off at their Airbnb. The guide made us get out at the original meeting point at which point I asked why and he shrugged his shoulders and took off. We had a 25 minute walk. Do not book this tour and do not by any means accept Carmine as your guide.

From the communication via the Viator dashboard, we can see that you were contacted at 7:30, and at 7:32 you informed us that you were on your way to the meeting point, expecting to arrive at 7:40, which was the hydrofoil’s departure time. The time indicated in the product is only an approximate start time for the tour, as also specified on our website.

It was beautiful! And absolutely incredible! We learned lots about the history while enjoying the view the food, and having our own free time! I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun beautiful trip. It is Long so keep that in mind but totally worth it!

A really good day out. Pompeii unreal, the guide was very good very knowledgable. We got missed at pick up, thick because we booked late but the company made sure we made the trip when we phoned.

Going to Capri early was excellent! No crowds, perfect temperature, no waiting. When we left it was crazy the lines and people. Going to Pompeii second, no lines to enter, great pictures with no people in them. It was great!

Hard to write a review on a trip that was canceled. The weather in Naples was bad and forecasted to be bad the day of our trip. It was canceled because of the weather. However, the weather didn't materialize

We only had one day so we packed it all with this tour of Pompeii and Capri. It was really easy to find the driver from the pick up spot. Most of the time honestly was spent transiting from ferry to funicular back to the ferry, then the bus. So much travel! However, it was a great time! Our tour guide Daniel gave clear explanations of what to expect, how much free time we had in Capri, sorted all the ferry tickets! In Pompeii, be prepared to walk a lot! Our guide was an archeologist and had deep knowledge of Pompeii. It was very interesting. I definitely enjoyed it!

Easy to travel with the guide. Busy day but fun. Starting in Capri was best for timing. The lift up from the port had a very long line in afternoon. Pompeii has no shade. I recommend bringing an umbrella.

This excursion allowed our family of 5 to easily visit capri, the only reason why we would rate this trip a four star is because from our understanding we would visit Pompeii in the morning and capri in the afternoon. However when we arrived we were informed we were going to capri first and due to our cruise schedule would not have time to do Pompeii. Alessandra our tour operator was very helpful in getting in contact with her boss/others to figure out different ways that we could get to Pompeii. This ultimately did not workout and the tour company allowed us to end our tour in capri and refunded us 50% of our original payment. Alessandra went out of her way to help us figure out how to get back to Naples and secure other transportation to Pompeii. Without her we would not have been able to see Pompeii. Our day ended in success and we give all thanks to Alessandra for that.

The Pompeii part of this excursion was canceled at 3pm the day before because of the time our cruise ship left port. Viator knew the times when we originally booked this tour 3-4 months ahead of time. Very disappointed in that part. However, the tour guide, Guisi, was fabulous and kept us on track.

Met us at cruise terminal. Stefano very accommodating. We purchased skip the line tickets for Vatican Museum from another vendor. Stefano helped coordinate with other vendor to assure we arrive timely.

Great way to see several sites. Appreciated the adjustment to the schedule so we avoided crowds at both locations. We were able to get on funicular to Capri with a very short wait and the island wasn't too crowded in the morning. Nice to be able to explore Capri at our own pace. Pompeii was not crowded in the afternoon which was good, our guide was a little soft spoken. Transportation to and from Capri was a ferry, I was hoping it was a boat we'd be able to see the coast. Pompeii could be done by a self guided audio tour and it is much larger than expected. But this tour is a good intro and overall look at it. Loved Capri and want to return to explore more and do some shopping, eating & drinking.

I booked my reservation back on January 31, 2025
I was booked for pick up from the Odyssey Royal Caribbean at the Naples port for 8:00 am as our ship docked at 7:00 and we disembarked in the first group were on the dock by 7:35. Plenty of time for our 8:00 am pick up.
There was nobody there to meet us and we searched through all the drivers there. None with our name. I called the number provided and talked with either Worldtours or Viator and was told that the driver left before 7:30. That was 30 minutes before my reservation time. She said she would try to get in touch with the driver to return but said he could Not come back. I asked for another tour guide and she told me she had no other guides or cars available. I asked for the money back and she said I had to contact whomever I booked with as they do not handle the money.
I called Viator or Worldtours whatever number I was provided. Was told that the driver was gone before 7:30. We checked everywhere for a driver and was on the dock until after 9:00 am. They would do nothing to help or get us another ride no driver would come to get us. Our vacation was ruined because of this incompetence.

The trip was amazing! It was a very hot day and planning two trips in one day was a lot. Especially Pompeii. Our tour guide Mary at Pompeii was amazing and very knowledgeable. Would have been nice to have access to water on the bus, even for a small fee.

Guicid and Andreas were awesome. There were some very rude and disruptive people in the tour that were loud and speaking over the guide. He professionally but firmly corrected their behavior and salvaged the experience for the rest of us. He was also a wrath of knowledge on Pompeii.
Guicid was a delight and had a wonderful, cheery disposition. You know you have had a good experience when you end the tour with hugs from your guide.

This excursion combines Capri and Pompeii. Travelers should know that it takes about an hour on the ferry to get to Capri. Once we arrived we took a tour bus up to a specific point and then walked down a long cobblestone road and then back up to the Gardens of Augustus. We had about 15 minutes to wander around except that it was raining very hard and it was not enjoyable. Because of the rain we didn’t enjoy the beauty. Then we had to walk back uphill to the meeting point. After taking a bus back down to the ferry area we had 25
Min to hang around. One thing that is important to know is that during the month of January the vast majority of shops are not open. In my opinion there was no point in visiting Capri especially because it was raining hard. There was no place to go and get out of the rain. The little coffee shop was crowded with people. Pompeii was very interesting even in the rain. Because of the walking I do not recommend that anyone with mobility issues go on either leg of this tour. There are no smooth surfaces to walk on. There is no assistance available. You must be able to walk. Not fun in the cold and rain. Oh, and the bathrooms were closed up top at the park. I think this particular tour should not include a visit to Capri in January.

After missing our meeting time because I didn’t receive notifications of the time alteration from the tour company because we were on a cruise ship with no phone signal. I couldn’t even answer the phone call till I was out of the port to be told they had gone and we arrived 10 minutes before the time we were told. We were told we couldn’t meet up with them in Capri. We had to wait till they told us a time later to rejoin the group. So we only did the tour of Pompeii which was good. We have asked for a refund for the cost of the ferry to Capri but haven’t heard anything back

What a brilliant day we had, best time to visit Capri is definitely in the morning which we did on this tour, island got very busy as we were leaving. Giusi was so helpful and organised. The tour of Pompeii was super interesting and our guide was so knowledgeable and gave us lots of information and also made the tour fun. Would definitely recommend this tour was a fantastic day.

Chiara and Josie were great, as well as the tour guide at Pompeii. They were very nice, informative and really good us alot about Napoli history and pompeii. however management needs to address the plan B--I felt that there should be better organization from management about weather related changes. Capri had to be cancelled due to weather (understandable) and it took a while to figure out the solution. Definitely not Chiara or Josie's fault-they did their best. ..would be management. Also would be better if they were actually able to pick us up AT our cruise port, not 1.3 km away. We were told we would be picked up at the post but had to rush cause that wasn't the case.

Pompei is 79 AD frozen in time. For the novice to the aficionado, this is an incredible experience. Amazing the level of organization: family and civil that existed back then.
