We enjoyed getting to know Roberto and his walking tour of the historic center of Naploli. Hie shared stories of his family , lifestyle and history of the city were so interesting.
The walk through Spacca Napoli (shops and street vendors), visiting 2 historic churches, and visiting over a cup of espresso in a town square made for a memorable afternoon.

Danielle was an amazing guide and catered to our needs in every way. Our tasting with Mimmo was an amazing experience and he was so attentive and aware of our likes and found many more things in his shop that we’d enjoy!

Serena was amazing!! She gave us an excellent tour combining Naples history and living there today. She was such a great ambassador for the city and we really enjoyed the tour. She even left us at an area for me to purchase a nativity and told me which stores were best.

This was a total waste of time and money. After reading the great reviews, we thought that it would be a treat to your Naples with a local.
However, our guide, Antonio, despite being a nice person, did not have basic knowledge about many (most) locations and areas, and seemed to be very unprepared. It was like we were going on a walk with someone we had just met...tbh, I sustained most of the conversation, to break the awkward silences. Not really what you would expect on a private, guided tour.
A case in point about....we talked a lot about pizza, something that Antonio was a bit more animated about. After the tour, I remembered that the first ever pizzeria was located in Naples, and I wanted to stop by for a slice, or at least a photo. Turns out that our 'tour' went right past the shop, but Antonio did not mention this.
We informed the agency, who refunded 40% of the cost. While this is appreciated, it was not worth it, even with a that discount. With a short time in Naples, my wife and I should have just explored on our own.

Avoid high heel shoes since the ground is a bit uneven! Good walking shoes are advised.
We had Donatella as our guide. She is a local that had a lot of knowledge both of the history of different neighborhoods and the culture and customs of Napolitans.
Everything from the lines of kings, to the differences in language between Napoli and other parts of Italy, to hidden gems and spots less visited by tourists.
I can recommend taking a quick stop on your tour and enjoying a nice Fiocchi de Never (a pastry unique to Napoli filled with ricotta goodness) or other snack.
Don't be afraid of asking questions or changing the direction/focus of the guided tour!

The company was great about matching us to a tour guide based on our interests. We wanted to learn about food and history, and our guide was very prepared. She also provided a ton of great recommendations about things to do and see and eat outside of the tour. I only wish that we had done a longer tour so that we could have seen more of the city with a guide. It was a great experience for the short period of time we were in Naples during our trip!

You can choose the number of hours for this tour to suit your needs. I knew where in Naples I would be visiting on a tour group I was joining so asked the guide, Ilenia, in advance to come up with some ideas for our four hours which would precede the tour. Her choices were spot on and she was flexible when she saw what interested us most. My husband and I felt we knew so much about the city after our tour. Besides visiting sights, we learned to use the Naples metro and had the opportunity to take the funicular - along with the Neopolitans - up to Vomero en route to San’Elmo Castle. It was a fun and enlightening day.

This was a great tour. Onofrio was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our tour was very well paced and we were able to see all that we wanted. We loved that he explained thoroughly but we were not overwhelmed with information. Highly recommended!!!

Nunzia was a great guide. It was nice not being in a large tour group. She catered to our wishes in the time we had and showed us out of the way places. She helped navigate to subway system, which was a bit crazy. ;-) Would recommend

We did the 4 hour walking tour with Daniela. We covered a lot of ground and learned so much about the city from her. She tailored our experience to our interests and recommended favourite places from which to sample some of the traditional eats.

We went to the meeting place you provided but never found the tour guide. We called Viator who tried to call the provider but still no luck. 30 minutes after the start time, we gave up (sigh).

Armando is a great guide and took us through each historic era - from the Greeks, to the Spanish, French to Nazis, Americans and modern day. In addition to being very knowledgable about Napoli and its sites - he is very nice guy. Highly recommended!

A walking custom, private tour of Naples booked through Viator is a winning choice when given just one day to explore the city. Rich in history, food, and culture, our tour guide Donatella “Doni” came through for us in every way. The photo ops are endless and Doni captures every moment.
