Food Tour

It was absolutely wonderful! Lori was our tour guide. She was great! While walking the streets, a past tour group spotted her and hugged on her and laughed with her. She is very knowledgeable and gave historical facts during our tour that made the city come to life. She took us to amazing places to eat. The wine never seemed to stop. The steak was some of the best meat we’ve ever eaten. Lori made sure one of the little girls in our group whose birthday it was had a special celebration at our dinner. She cared greatly for the little children. She also spoke great English.

Great Food Tour in the heart of Firenze

The food tour was very fun, even as a solo traveler. We learned a little about the food and wine, and why it is so important to Florence and Tuscany. Our guide also explained traditions behind some of the food. Italy has distinct foods and wines for each region, and the history behind the food is fascinating, for instance, why no salt is used in the Florentine bread. Many in our tour group were not adventurous eaters, and they missed out on trying some of the delicious offerings, though nothing was too strange in my opinion. Come hungry and ready to learn for this tour.

When you only have a limited amount of time in Florence, a great guide is a must.

Katerina was an engaging and knowledgeable guide. We only had a day to spend in Florence--we did the Duomo on our own, then had a great walk through the squares, over the Arno, back across the Ponte Vecchio and ending with David at the Accademie. With limited time-- a great guide is a must, and Katerina was the best.

We had a delightful experience on this your with Giovanni as our guide.. Each stop featured a nice portion of a typical Florentine food (Vin Santo, ragu, biscotti, etc), all of which were delicious. Giovanni was informative and very entertaining as we strolled and chatted. The stop in the Central Market stall featured truffles, which we loved. Highly recommended.

The tour is divided into two separate tours. We first did the David tour and it was exceptional. Truly, David is captivating. Our guide was well informed on his history. We then had approximately 45 minutes between the two tours to walk down to the Uffizi for the second tour. Our guide was also the guide for that tour. He was very knowledgeable, passionate, and dynamic throughout the tour.

Excellent tour, would highly recommend. Had a private tour around the highlights of Florence as only myself & my mother were booked onto the tour. Our guide Eleonora was great, made the tour a pleasure to be on. She was very knowledgeable about everything she showed us & was happy to answer questions or give us more time to look at things if we wanted. Perfect way to see the highlights of Florence if you’ve never been here before!

This is a great way to understand the highlights of Florence that you will not want to miss. Our guide grew up in the area of Florence and was very well versed in the city and he also shared some of his favorite spots to eat, etc. - that I’m sure we would have never found! He had a great sense of humor and was very enthusiastic when speaking to us. His love for Florence was infectious! So glad we did this on our first full day here!

A one-of-a-kind day in Florence

Martina emailed me ahead of time and we planned how to spend the six hour private tour. I think that was the key to the success of the day. We visited her side of Florence, enjoyed the outdoor markets, gardens and specialty stores for art. We went to an amazing place for lunch and later, stopped a wine bar. All this afforded Martina time to share her city with me. I felt like I was not a tourist but visiting with a friend. I have been to Florence before and done all the major sites. This was a unique day that I will never forget.
