Great day with Fabio. Actually felt like I learned and was able to practice cooking items I would and could make at home. Explained in terms that were easy to follow. Would definitely recommend! What was even better was it all turned out well and we enjoyed our lunch!

This 90 minute tour was a perfect introduction to the museum. Our guide, Ana, was enthusiastic and an expert on the artwork. Her joy for the art and history made me more interested. Itinerary

Our guide was very well versed in the art and history at the museum. I enjoyed learning new information. The reason for my low score is that he spent too much time lecturing on few works of art. I would have appreciated his information if he could have edited down some details to allow us to learn more about other pieces. Also, the audio quality was very poor. It was hard to understand and follow his remarks because the audio was spotty and erratic.

The Gallery is INCREDIBLE! Cannot speak highly enough of the artwork inside. An absolute must see. Only small criticism, our tour was supposed to start at 12:00, was pushed back to 12:45 and instead of 90 minutes it was still going at 135 minutes and we missed our connecting tour. Our guide Pam was very knowledgeable and passionate but spoke for too long at too few artworks and I feel like we missed a huge chunk of the works on display.

Rachel was such an energetic, extremely knowledgeable and inclusive tour guide. She got to know us and answered sooo many questions about the artists and even history of art and the city. 1000/10 would recommend booking a Viator tour (our second year in Italy and not new to guided tours) but you NEED to have Rachel. She was made for this. She gave us some of our best moments in Florence and maybe sparked a new obsession with Renaissance art.

Meeting place was easy to find, and the tour guide was exceptionally informative and spoke good English. The start time was changed by 30 minutes, but was communicated one day ahead by text. Our passport ID was checked to enter the facility and we did not have to wait in line. We went in with our guide quickly without waiting in a general admission line.

This was the worst tour...

This was the worst tour we’ve ever experienced. We have usually been extremely happy with all of our Viator listed tour companies. We decided to opt for a small group to tour the museum. What we experienced was a tour guide with a significant British accent making it almost impossible to understand once she spoke fast or turned her head away from the mic while talking. We had to ask her to hold the mic rather than pinning it to her shirt which she was not happy about. Maybe she was supplied with an inadequate mic as other tour guides have used attached mics and we could clearly hear the narrative. Adding misery to the experience, the tour guide stopped at probably a total of 6-8 pictures/sculptures and lectured the group on every minor detail instead of giving an overview of the significance of it’s history and style. We’d already visited the museum but had decided to take another tour for the benefit of our 20 year old granddaughter who was traveling with us and loves art. There was no comparison between the quality of our previous tour and this one. Of note, the other family on the tour often frequently wandered off and looked at paintings/sculptures while the guide rambled on about one particular painting, etc. There was so much to see and learn but unfortunately we left disappointed feeling that we wasted a lot of money and could have better enjoyed visiting the museum on our own.

Our tour guide was Olga and she was very knowledgeable and made sure that everyone in her group never got left behind. Unfortunately though due to the Uffizi Gallery just not seeming like they had it figured out (they’ve only been a public museum since 1769!) they didn’t bring our group inside on time because they were dealing with issues from another tour group in front of ours and we started our tour 15minutes late. Then inside, there was absolutely no crowd control of the people. Granted it was summer and the busiest season but we should have been able to hear Olga’s presentation but the crowd was way too loud. The tour company gave each of us earphones while Olga spoke into the mic connected to it but the tour company really need to update their microphone system because everything Olga was saying sounded muffled. The tour company’s mics seemed to pic up too much background noise with all the other people. Again, I think Olga was great and she did a great job trying to make the best of our experience despite the other factors of the mics and the museum crowd control that were totally out of her hands.
