Collision with the bus

Anne_B, Jul 2026
Unfortunately, we were not able to utilize the hop on hop off bus as planned due to a collision that occurred when a car hit the bus head on. Fortunately, no one in my group was injured but it caused a major interruption of the tour and resulted in us having to walk to a tram station. The accident was NOT the fault of the bus driver and the police and ambulance arrived quickly. The one place we did get to see was breathtaking so I’m sure it would’ve been well worth it, had we not crashed.

I wouldn't do it again

Vivienne_I, Jul 2026
one whole side of the bus at the top was out of bounds with broken seats which severely limited the number of people who could access the top of the bus and let's face it..... you see nothing from the bottom! The staff were not very helpful, the air conditioning downstairs was not working and all in all it was not a very pleasant trip.

Don't do it!

Roisin_B, Jul 2026
Bus was an hour late - later explained 2 buses were missing. Broken seats on bus. Staff under pressure. No communication or apology from local help desk. Transferred to other route at next stop so trip to Fiesole was nice. Broken audio outlets on some seats (poorly maintained vehicles). No offer of apology or refund. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND at all.

Wish I could have given it zero Stars

Jason_C, Jul 2026
If I could have given it zero Stars I would have! This was the worst hop-on hop-off bus tour ever, the buses skip stops, never stopped at all, we're always late, sometimes came every hour. Sometimes came every 20 minutes. The app that they have is absolutely terrible, doesn't show real-time buses and the people on the bus don't communicate and are nasty!

Response from Host, Jul 2026

We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear about your experience. We strive to meet high quality standards and value our customers' opinions. Your comments help us improve.

Great way to familiarise yourself on a city break

Michelle_W, Jul 2026
We love the bus tours. Great thing to do early on in your trip to familiarise yourself with the city. Love the maps, the individual headphones to listen to the commentary if you choose. I like to do this do I find out more. Recommended

Not worth the money

Beverly_P, Jul 2026
The first pickup spot is nowhere to be found on the site. Too long between pickups. Unfriendly staff.

Awful experience

Alun_R, Jun 2026
Bought my tickets online but not provided map so no idea where pick up points were. Went to main train station as found online old map that it was main pick up point. But no signs or markers, no sign of any buses running. Awful experience

Avoid

Tasia_S, Jun 2026
Bought a 3 day pass. Day 1: found bus stop in blistering heat. Sign saying buses only run every 2 hours. Contacted company. No reply. Day 2: bus pass has disappeared from app....

Fun and informative tour

Lars_M, Jun 2026
Great way to see the city and figure out what else you want to explore in depth. Convenient stop locations. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes.

Great option

Holly_L, Jun 2026
Great opportunity to see the city. Although the equipment doesn’t work consistently you can always ask the guides. This one announced which stop was next prior to the stop. This is helpful to navigate your way around

A very pleasant ride.

Elizabeth_P, Jun 2026

If your headset...

Karen_M, Jun 2026
If your headset connection isn’t producing a clear voice, move to different seat. Sit downstairs one stop before the one you want together off at. That way, you can quickly exit the bus when it stops.

Great trip in Florence.

Alex_M, Jun 2026
Make sure of the timetable if boarding a bus towards the end of the scheduled day as it prevents ending up at the wrong final stop.

Good overview of Florence.

Francis_N, May 2026
If you are trying to see a big picture view of the city, expect to spend nearly all day doing it. The buses are infrequent on the route that is farther from the city center. Sometimes the narration is out of sync with what you are trying to see. Overall, a nice overview of Florence.

I hope for improvement

Norma_B, May 2026
I love utilizing this service in every town I visit. I wish the buses are inspected for broken wall devices which we connect our headphone. Large numbers are broken. Also the Stop points should be marked correctly in the maps and streets. Some are very difficult to find. Lastly, the voice in the headphones should match what we see.

Buses not on schedule

James_F, May 2026
Red line unavailable after 14:00 pm due to unexplained reasons. Never got to finish all stops. Blue line bus stop 5 not even close to schedule. Over one and a half hour late.

Response from Host, May 2026

We’re sorry to read about your experience. However, our stops are clearly indicated on our online and printed maps, as well as on our official app, where you can also track the real-time location of the buses to better manage waiting times at the stops.

A day in Florence

Steve_T, May 2026
Worth doing for a day in Florence . For those who like to site see versus lining up to view art or museums, but still allow hop off at your specific spots

Easiest way to see as much as possible in a few hours with English audio guide on the bus, numerous stops.

Solo travel

Wendianne_W, May 2026
This is a great way to get an overview of the city. Get up early though and catch one of the earlier busses though. I tried to get on at noon and had to wait 1.5 hours for a bus that had room. Also you can purchase same day tickets in line and you can catch the bus from other locations. Do both lines (A&B). Get to see so much!

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for choosing our service for your trip to Italy. Your review will be valuable for future travelers!

This is great for people...

Jean_R, May 2026
This is great for people who can’t walk all the way to places… it also gives a great overview of the sites so you can pick and choose what you want to see.

Try A and B routes

Alan_H, May 2026
Great way to get around Florence with two contrasting routes. The routes overlap but one route takes you to a charming village high over Florence with a very different view from the most popular one at Piazza Michaelangelo

Go blue line only

Theresa_L, Apr 2026
The blue line was great but if you take the red line most of the plugs to listen do not work. The active app is not 100% so you need to walk some to find the actual bus stop. Driver if red line was rude. On the red line we had to get off and wait in the rain for the blue line to get back to the city. Stay in blue line!!!

Great way to see city, not many stops, hard to figure out without their map

Susan_Z, Apr 2026
There are 2 lines, one comes by every hour or so, and another every 30 mins. They arrive CLOSE to posted times, but sometimes early, sometimes didn't show though I waited an HOUR. The 8x11 pages aren't very visible, the stops are not given to you in advance, like when you buy a ticket. I walked 35 minutes to ONE of the THREE stops given to me, and that is where the bus never showed in an hour. A few of the onboard ticket people were not very friendly. They have a 20 minute hold at both of the starting points of their respective loops. It is hard to decipher when the last bus of the day might be. If you can find a stop it does have a QR code that will show where the bus is currently, but does have a little lag time to it. If you hold on to your ticket, you can get a discount on your next Hop on Hop off bus, in another city. I didn't know this and purchased my tickets individually in advance with no discount offered. They need more stops within Florence. Their maps are helpful, but you have to get on the bus to get them.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

• We’re sorry to hear about your experience. Our boarding and drop-off points are officially authorized by the local municipality to help protect the beauty of our UNESCO World Heritage heritage sites. The walking distance involved is minimal and is always supervised by our tour leaders. Please note that all our stops are clearly marked on both our printed and online maps, as well as on our official app, which also provides real-time bus tracking to help minimize waiting times at each stop. Our itinerary is clearly outlined in all our printed materials and on our website, allowing guests to plan their visit ahead of time.

Great value

Stephanie_B, Apr 2026
A wonderful way to tour the city and major attractions. The audio guide is informative and it’s a relaxing way to see the sites of Florence at low cost.

Skip this tour

Pamela_F, Apr 2026
Hard to find meeting points, far away from most locations. We ended up walking, and never got to utilize our tour.

Great way to get around

Kathleen_B, Apr 2026
Hop on, hop off is always a great experience. We used it to get outside the downtown core in Florence. It was also a nice way to see the gardens and palace that were included in our Uffizi tickets.
