We had a fun time. It was about 3.5 hours long- maybe too long! We drank A LOT of wine and tasted some food.

Whilst we enjoyed our time on the tour, I found it to be quite expensive for what it was and probably more suited to those who are visiting Italy for the first time. I am based in London and have visited Italy many times so I am relatively familiar with Italian cuisine though not with particular local dishes. Being told how I should pronounce ‘bruschetta’ and common mistakes tourists do in Italy didn’t apply to me. This cost cost the same as a day trip to siena and San gimingnano with a stop at a vineyard. I feel this tour is just exploiting American tourists and their high disposable income. The food on the tour was all nice but Dimitri, whilst knowledge was very good, focused his explanation to those who have very little knowledge of Italian culture. It came off a little patronising and the cost of the tour was excessive. All of the other people on the tour were really nice and we really enjoyed meeting them.

Regarding the value, the Florence Sunset Food & Wine Tour includes multiple stops with generous tastings, a full meal, five glasses of wine plus a cocktail, and access to small, locally run businesses and historic venues that many visitors would not typically experience on their own. We work closely with these partners to ensure both quality and authenticity throughout the evening.
We’re sorry that the experience felt overpriced from your perspective, but we do appreciate your honest feedback. We hope you might consider joining us again in the future on another tour that may better match your expectations.

Excellent progressive dinner style walk through a half dozen spots in the Oltrarno neighborhood. From the cellar of a wine shop to the “king of cheese” to a 70-80 year old trattoria, this was a fantastic walk from start to finish. Hard to pick a standout dish but the eggplant parmigiana was amazing. Tina was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide.

An excellent opportunity to learn more about Florence, Tuscany, the food and wine specialties of this part of Italy. We had two guides, Chiara and Irene. Chiara was the leader and Irene was under training and conducted most of the tour. Both were very friendly and engaging and lead us on a food tour of the “other side of the Arno”. We sampled a variety of wines, antipasto, first courses and mains, followed by Gelato. All were excellent.

It was a good tour with nice stops at wine, cheese and a Trattoria. Final stop was at a gelato bar, very good. Our tour guide was good but her English, at times was difficult to understand but she was well versed and very sweet.

If your tour is on Sunday it is a different agenda/schedule than you receive due to Sunday closures of a few of the establishments. There should be notification on the website this is the case for Sunday tours. The meeting place at the fountain in the Piazza Santa Spirito was very difficult to locate as the market was being held; vendors’ tents and vehicles everywhere obstructing the fountain as you’d walk by, which we did 4 times. With great difficulty and much persistence including 2 calls to New York City we found the tour about an hour after it began. Demetri, the guide was excellent! The samplings we had were very tasty. The abbreviated tour was good.

We would like to clarify that on Sundays the route is slightly different due to some venue closures, but the overall experience remains the same in terms of both the quantity and quality of food and wine. The alternative stops are carefully selected, and the vendors are just as special and authentic as those visited from Monday to Saturday.

This was one of the best tours we've ever taken anywhere. Serena (she said like the tennis player if I can't remember the actual spelling haha) was so knowledgeable and friendly and the perfect tour guide. She weaved in so much history and how it is reflected in the food, which made it really nice for those of us who aren't huge wine drinkers. My kids, for example, loved this tour so much because they learned so much and had a lot of fun. They even replaced the wine with juice for them so they can experience the wine window experience. 10/10 recommend!! A must do.

Martino was a fantastic guide to some Martino shared incredible food and local knowledge of the area! Great guide. The wine, cheeses, pasta, gnudi, and gelato were a great way to experience Florence! Highly recommend. Oh… and the cheese king; must meet him.

The Florence Sunset Food & Wine tour by Eating Europe was awesome. We were lucky to have a very small group (just the three of us and one solo traveler) and great weather. Giovanni was a terrific guide. Took a nice pace and presented lots of interesting information about Tuscany, Florence and the food and wine we were consuming. And the food and wine were remarkable! I couldn’t really choose my favorite. I would definitely recommend this tour and guide to others, and would consider using Eating Europe for food tours in other cities.

Eva was absolutely amazing! We did the tour as our send off after visiting family and I definitely recommend it. We had a blast. Neither my partner nor I are big wine drinkers, but the wines we tasted were delicious - paired with Eva’s extensive knowledge, we indulged and learned so much. One of the stops, Divin Boccone, had cases available to ship to the states, which let us take a bit of the tour home without all the hassle. Eva had a great relationship with all of the shop owners that we visited, so it was very nice and felt comfortable the whole time.

I can see why this tour gets consistent high marks! We had Anna as our guide and she was just excellent! I would highly recommend this tour if you're visiting Florence, Italy. We went on our second day there and we learned so much from her that we even went back to some of the restaurants that were on our tour. It's well worth the money!
