This was a very expensive tour for a limited time spent in Accademia. You will see David but only one floor of the building. I won’t call out my tour guide by name bc it was clearly an off day for them and they have great reviews here otherwise, but several folks in my group noticed their negative attitude and that they didn’t want to be there. It improved over the tour but started the tour with an unpleasant vibe. The Uffizi was spectacular and the guide was definitely knowledgeable but I do not feel we truly got our money’s worth.

The cost of art tours in Florence has risen significantly this year because state museum ticket prices increased by 45%.
Current official rates are: Uffizi Gallery €35 and Accademia Gallery €24 per person, just for entry.
On top of that, as a licensed operator we also carry the costs of local taxes, office rent, licensed guides, reservations, insurance, and staff salaries. We run these tours with a very small margin because our focus is on quality and timed entry access, not on big markups.With those ticket costs alone at €59 per person, the overall tour price is now very high. That’s why even a 1-2 hour visit to the Accademia, where you see David and one main floor, can feel limited compared to the total cost.On the experience:

The gallery was exquisite. The guide was terrific with an amazing amount of details and history to share. Margaret was an excellent and enthusiastic guide. I personally could have spent much more time at the Accademia but I appreciated the time given and knowledge shared. The biggest issue came before the tour even started. We had booked and fully paid for the 8:30 a.m. tour more than a week in advance, but shortly before the tour we were asked to move to the 10:00 a.m. time slot. If we didn't want to accept the change, we were told to cancel the tour ourselves, even though the cancellation policy only offered a 50% refund. I called to request a full refund since the schedule change was initiated by the company, and only then did they agree to keep our tour, starting instead at 8:45 a.m. The one unexpected benefit was that after the Accademia, the tour became private.
As for the tour itself, I felt there was too much silence while walking between sites. I would have appreciated more historical background or stories about Florence along the route.
Inside the Uffizi, the guide's approach also wasn't ideal for me. We often pushed through crowds to get into position for photos, then stepped back and stood at a distance while the guide discussed the artwork. I think it would have been much more efficient to move close to each piece first, hear the explanation while viewing it up close, and then take photos before moving on. We spent a lot of time navigating crowds, and I believe a different approach would have allowed us to see more of the museum.
I was also disappointed that we skipped the famous Lucky Boar, something I didn't realize until after the tour was over. That's an iconic Florence stop that I had expected to see.
Overall, our guide was knowledgeable, and having a private tour for part of the experience was a nice bonus. However, the attempted schedule change before the tour and the pacing and organization during the tour kept this from being the experience I had hoped for.

During the low season, group sizes naturally fluctuate. Asking guests at least 48 hours in advance never last minute if they are open to moving to the next available time slot is simply standard scheduling coordination. It is negotiating, not a crime, and we never forced anyone to accept the 10:00 a.m. slot. Some guests agree, and some do not.
If a client chooses not to move and prefers to cancel due to a company initiated request, we always issue a 100% full refund from our system. We never keep money for a service we do not provide. The 50% automated cancellation policy you saw was misunderstood, as our team overrides that system setting in these specific cases.
Ultimately, we honored your original timeframe, absorbed the high operational costs to run a virtually private tour exclusively for you, and ensured you received the full experience. Given that we went out of our way to accommodate you at significant expense to us, receiving a 3 star review feels undeserved.
Regarding the route and museum flow, our guides adapt their movement through crowds inside the Uffizi and along Florence's streets to ensure safety and navigate heavy tourist traffic. However, we note your comments about the walking commentary, museum viewing order, and the Fontana del Porcellino (Lucky Boar), and we will review these points with our guiding team to refine our pacing.

This tour highlights the masterpieces of the Academia and Uffizi museum. Our guide Sylvia shared a lot of knowledge about the artwork and about the famous artists. She gave us a lot of background information and special meanings about the paintings and sculptures . She made it a fun time and made sure we saw the main attractions. We were free to see the rest of the uffizi museum after the tour ended there.

On this tour we had some delays and time changes. Also our skip the line tickets still had us waiting outside in the heat for an hour. This changed how much of each location we could see. However our tour guide Anna was so knowledgeable. So much interesting information.

If you review our listing, you will see that we never mention "skip the line" tickets, as that is not something any operator can legally promise. Instead, we explicitly provide priority entrance tickets, which are significantly quicker than the general admission line that regularly takes hours.
Regardless of the ticket type, absolutely everyone must wait in the designated queue to pass through mandatory government security checks before entering these world class museums. While we understand waiting in the heat is frustrating and can cause scheduling adjustments, these security delays are entirely under the control of the museum administration, not our guides.

This was a great tour that started at Accademia and ended at uffizi. We saw the highlights and it moved quickly. The tour guide was hard to understand at times but overall had a ton of knowledge and provided many details. It was very hot so I recommend doing this tour in the early morning hours.

We started our tour at the Academia. The highlight of this part of the tour was “David “ by Michelangelo. Our guide, Sylvia, was very knowledgeable, and had many interesting insights into many of the works of art throughout the Academia, the Uffizi, and the streets of Florence. We were in a small group, our family of four and a family of five. The tour was definitely worth it.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to tour Uffizi Gallery, apparently because it was too hot in the gallery on June 27. We were granted a partial refund, however. What I found interesting is when we passed the Gallery on our tour, we noticed people waiting in line to enter the facility. ???.
Outside of not being able to tour the Uffizi Gallery, the tour was informative. The tour guide was phenomenal, appearing very knowledgeable about the Duomo, Accademia and Uffizi. Please note we did receive an extensive overview of the Uffizi although we weren't allowed to enter.

We completely understand why seeing a queue outside the Uffizi Gallery on June 27 was confusing, and we want to share the behind the scenes context regarding the museum's sudden operational changes due to their severe air conditioning crisis. On that day, the state administrators spontaneously opened entry for very short, unpredictable windows, but they completely froze the online reservation system used by tour operators, meaning our pre-arranged group tickets were blocked. Instead, they only opened the physical ticket office at the door but with the strict mandate that all guests must be physically present in line together when the tickets are issued. For a guided tour, this is practically impossible and entirely counterproductive, as it would require forcing our guests to stand and wait indefinitely in the sweltering, hot sun just for a gamble at a spontaneous ticket window. The museum also granted exclusive entry to select visitors holding specialized Vasari Corridor tickets, which operate under a completely separate system. To protect our clients' comfort and safety, we chose to adapt the itinerary and promptly issue partial refunds rather than leave you stranded in the heat, and we are incredibly proud of our guide for navigating this crisis so professionally.

I highly recommend seeing the Uffizi Museum with a guide. The museum is very large and there are crowds. The skip-the-line timed entry allowed us to go right in. Our guide, Cosetta, brought us directly to the high lights of the museum and was very knowlegeable about art history and the life of each. She had interesting stories about the Medici, Florence, and the artists.
