Since 2019, we are the first to offer Vernazza an experience dedicated to preparing pesto in the mortar, combining cooking, territory, conviviality, and tasting. You will learn to prepare pesto by hand, using selected ingredients. The experience takes place in a typical Cinque Terre cellar, with stone and wood, reminiscent of the atmosphere of old Vernazza. 12:30 - PESTO CLASS We will start with wine, focaccia, cheeses, and extra virgin olive oils. You will prepare your pesto in the mortar while tasting a second wine. The pesto will then be used to dress the gnocchi which you will eat with a third wine. We will conclude with limoncello and chocolate. 3:00 PM or 5:30 PM – PESTO SNACK CLASS After a taste of wine, you will prepare the pesto in the mortar while tasting a second wine. 5 Terre Highlight!

What a fun experience - the highlight of our time in Cinque Terre! Thanks to the great crew (and family from Austin, TX)! We booked this only after our private tour was cancelled. Size of the boat and number of passengers were perfect. Was a bit apprehensive to start as there was no signage on the dock (other tours had sandwich boards), but all was excellent once the boat arrived. Disappointed though that Viator promo code didn’t work. Maybe user error?

Wonderful - must do day trip from Florence!

This is a must do!!!! Nero was our guide! He was AMAZING! He was knowledgeable and respectful to all in our group. The tour is listed as not having a private guide, but we totally did! He educated us on the history and gave interesting facts. Seeing this part of Italy was on my bucket list. The van was comfortable, the use of the train and boat were also very easy. Our guide recommended a lunch spot and the food was delicious! I would highly recommend.

Enchanting afternoon sail

We had a lovely afternoon sailing along the coast on Cinque Terre and enjoyed swimming in the clear turquoise water—truly like nothing we’ve seen before! Superb Visit to Cinque Terre with awesome tour guide!

Superb tour of this lovely slice of Italy visiting Manarola, Riomaggiore, and Monterosso by boat having been collected at La Spezia. Very well organized and orchestrated tour using public transportation to inclue the train from La Spezia to then be shown and described the unique characteristics of each town. Unhurried and able to enjoy at a well timed pace. Inclement weather near the end and tour guide remained engaged, helpful and responsive to ensure we made it back to La Spezia! A must do and great experience.

Visiting Cinque Terre was truly a wonderful experience. Besides all the lovely towns we got to visit we had the nicest and caring tour guide with Veronica. It became a private tour for the 4 of us since the other people canceled. She gave us options on what our preferences were on train versus ferry or both? My husband had some issues in walking a lot and it was hot. She always made sure we could find comfortable places in the shade to rest up. Veronica was also very knowledgeable on all the places we visited. I highly recommend Viator as a tour company and especially recommend Veronica to add to thexperience.

The perfect low stress getaway

We had a fantastic time, cruising with Mateo and Frederica. The communication was excellent, which really helped calm our nerves. The tour was great. We enjoyed the beverages, the nice snack they provided and a good commentary about the area. Taking two swims in the sea on a really hot day was the icing on the cake. Best Way to Spend the Evening in 5terre!

Incredible views you can only see from the water. It was a long tour, but no surprises and it was worth the money. The boat wasn’t overcrowded, there was a nice selection of beverages, and pro tip: when you get the option to go swimming in the gorgeous turquoise water… say yes!
