What are people saying about Finland

City high points, history and waterfront scenery all in one trip
We had a great guide, Rachel, who had plenty to tell, and she also was pleased to get questions. The city tour gives a good sense of where you might want to return for a closer look. The Sibelius monument is wonderful, and we had enough time to enjoy it and take some pics. We were able to stroll the market, get some lunch (delicious salmon soup is available), and have a nice scenic ferry ride over to Suomenlinna. There is a lot of walking and hills there, so be aware. The weather changes quickly, so having an umbrella or light rain gear is recommended.

A great introduction to outdoor activities in Finland.
A great introduction to outdoor activities available in Finland. The experience was exactly as described - our informative guide Peter met us as arranged, drove us through farmland and forest, prepared a campfire dinner of traditional Finnish picnic food by a lake with visiting deer and overnight campers, and then drove us to encounter some European moose. First a large male in a field was watched at a safe distance, later a female surprised us all by coming very close to the van on the other side of a hedge. Everyone returned with good photos of moose and deer.

A must do in Helsinki
Peter, our guide was wonderful. He was on time and very friendly. He has a great knowledge about Porvoo and is passionate for Helsinki and Finland. It was good to go early as Porvoo gets very busy. We went to a fabulous bakery which served great coffee and food. A must do in Helsinki.

An outstanding introduction to Helsinki and Suomenlinna
This was the perfect tour for my first visit to Helsinki. It combined the city’s most important landmarks with a visit to Suomenlinna, one of Finland’s most significant historical sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about Finnish history and culture. Throughout the tour, we learned about Helsinki’s unique blend of Scandinavian and Russian influences, visited many of the city’s iconic landmarks, and gained a much deeper appreciation for Finland’s history and way of life. The highlight for me was the ferry ride to Suomenlinna Sea Fortress. Built in the 18th century across a group of islands, the fortress offers spectacular coastal scenery while telling the story of Finland’s Swedish and Russian past. Walking through its historic fortifications, tunnels, churches, and peaceful pathways felt like stepping back through centuries of Nordic history. The tour was well organized, transportation was seamless, and the pace struck a great balance between guided commentary and free time to explore, take photographs, and simply enjoy the surroundings. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Helsinki for the first time. It provides an excellent overview of the city while including one of Finland’s most iconic attractions, making it an outstanding value and one of the highlights of my trip.
