The reindeer sleigh ride in Sarriselkä was nothing short of magical ! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and explained everything clearly. Riding through the beautiful snow covered forests under the Arctic sky felt like stepping into a winter wonderland. The reindeer were gentle and well cared for, and the pace of the ride was perfect for soaking in the breathtaking scenery. We even had a chance to learn about the local Sami culture, which added a special touch to the experience. Warm drinks by the fire afterward were the perfect ending. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Lapland !

It was a great experience! To our luck, it was very sunny so the reindeer ride was extra enjoyable. All the family members of the farm and all the rest of the employees were very sweet and helpful. After the ride, the hot chotolate/coffee and cake was just what we needed! And the q&a about the reindeers was very informative. We enjoyed the experience a lot!

The driver picked us up and dropped us off at our location. We got a long Reindeer ride, a lot of information, we could feed the Reindeers and we got a hot drink and cake. Amazing!!

Fantastic tour. Provided appropriate clothes given the -25 degree weather. Went on sleigh ride. After this cake and warm drinks and then a fabulous information session about the Sami people and reindeers.

This reindeer safari was one of the most beautiful and peaceful experiences we had in Lapland — truly a winter dream.
The whole ride felt like stepping into a postcard: endless snow, silent forests, and that calm Arctic atmosphere that makes you slow down and just take it all in. The sleigh ride itself was magical — simple, quiet, and honestly the perfect way to experience Lapland nature in such an authentic way. Feeding the reindeer afterwards was also such a special moment, especially if you love animals and want a closer connection with the experience.
One thing I really appreciated was the customer service and how attentive the team was. My partner and I were staying in Ivalo (around 45 minutes away) and I didn’t realize how far that was when I booked. The guide noticed immediately and messaged me right away to confirm our location, which I honestly appreciated so much — it saved us from last-minute stress.
They also helped us arrange transportation and explained the options clearly. We ended up booking a private round-trip shuttle for 220 EUR for two people, which was super convenient and smooth. It’s not included in the tour price, but the fact that they proactively caught the issue and helped coordinate everything made the whole experience feel well-managed and cared for.
Not a “meh” at all — but if you’re going in early January, bring very warm clothes. It’s worth it, but the cold is real 😂❄️
I’d recommend this to absolutely anyone: couples, solo travelers, families, friends… it’s peaceful, scenic, and unforgettable.

Dress up very warm..snow trousers etc. The Artic wear they supply can fit over your own stuff. Dress children very warm. In January at -30 their feet were freezing. A blanket is supplied and sleeping bags for the children but feet do freeze. The family were lovely and friendly, great hosts- a lovely talk in the warmth afterwards and very informative. Toilets, drink and cake supplied afterwards..

Great experience from a reindeer farm.
Lovely ride through the forest, interesting things learnt about Sami culture and reindeers in general.
Only thing was it was -27c on the day so the ride felt long time in the cold, but that’s nobody’s fault. There was blankets provided, it was just extremely cold that day.

We loved this genuine experience at a traditional family owned Sami reindeer farm . Animals were beautiful, well cared for and their welfare was top priority. The sleigh ride itself was truly magical , followed by feeding the reindeer then a hot drink , snack and short talk about the history of the Sami people throughout the region given by Max - a wonderful authentic experience which I highly recommend, we will return.

Un accueil très sympathique, un transport en van confortable jusqu'à la ferme des rennes en pleine forêt, une balade de 40 à 45 mn dans un traîneau avec couvertures, après avoir reçu des vêtements pour le grand froid à porter au dessus de nos manteaux, et un goûter gâteau/chocolat chaud dans un chalet, avec l'hôtesse qui a fourni plein d'explications sur le mode de vie de sa famille.

Belle excursion durant laquelle nous avons pu découvrir les rennes. Dommage toutefois de ne pas avoir pu les approcher davantage, car ils n’aiment pas trop le contact. La balade était agréable et le guide sympathique, tout comme la partie consacrée au goûter et aux explications. Cependant, l'ensemble nous a paru un peu expéditif : nous n’avons pas vraiment eu le temps de profiter de moments avec les rennes. Une fois le goûter terminé, nous sommes remontés directement dans les vans pour repartir.

Wir sind in Saariselkä mit einem Van abgeholt worden und zur Rentierfarm gebracht worden. Die Fahrtzeit war nicht sehr lange. Dort angekommen sind uns warme Klamotten gegeben worden und dann ging es nach ein paar Erinnerungsfotos auch schon los. Die Fahrt war quer durch den Wald. Ein schöne rihig Fahrt mit insgesamt nur drei Schlitten. Nach der Fahrt durften wir noch die Rentiere füttern und es gab nochmal ein paar Erinnerungsfotos. Anschl. bekamen wir leckeren Kuchen mit Kaffee und Tee in der warmen, gemütlichen Stube mit ein paar Informationen über die Rentiere. Danach wurden wir zum Treffpunkt zurückgefahren. Alles in allem ein schönes Erlebnis.

Eine grandiose Erfahrung! Die Fahrt dauerte lange und war echt schön! Die Rentiere werden gut behandelt und danach gab es bei Kaffee und Kuchen einen Vortrag über die Farm, der sehr informativ, spannend und lustig war! Außerdem sind die Leute auf der Farm extrem freundlich und gesprächig - es war einmalig!
