Super experience seeing an amazing aurora! The guide Emin was excellent and very experienced. We had to drive all the way to Sweden to see the northern lights in clear sky, but thanks to him we were able to witness a wonderful one! It was an unforgettable experience!

I booked this tour, and on the same day they created a WhatsApp group to tell us that the northern lights hunt had been cancelled due to allegedly bad weather.
They offered us the option to pay an extra €60 to switch to a small group in a van instead of a bus, because apparently a van could go farther than a bus. Some people did, while others didn’t because we couldn’t afford the extra cost.
This happened about 3–4 hours before the tour was supposed to start, so I couldn’t book any other northern lights tour for that day, and I was leaving the day after.
Since it wasn’t my fault that they couldn’t use the bus, they should have offered the small-group van option for free instead of being greedy and trying to charge us even more.
They said I would get a refund, but I’m still waiting.
I understand that this depends on the weather, but if they can operate with vans instead of buses, they should accommodate the bus customers for free. It is not professional or serious to cancel the tour and leave customers without the experience, especially when they know that most of them are tourists on a tight schedule.
So if you go to Rovaniemi, avoid this company. They are not serious, and you will just waste your time and money.

It is difficult to understand what you aim to achieve with a review that contains many misleading and inaccurate claims. However, in order to ensure that our valued future guests are not left with any doubts, we feel obligated to respond.
You stated that you were “scammed.” This is simply not true. Your refund was processed immediately after the tour cancellation, and this is fully documented.
As clearly stated in the tour description, the operation of the tour is always subject to weather conditions, and cancellations may be necessary. If these details were overlooked, that unfortunately is not our responsibility.
On that specific night, we were not the only company that cancelled bus tours due to challenging weather conditions. Even with small-group vehicles, the forecast indicated a required drive of approximately 4 hours one way. This is not a reasonable or safe distance to operate with a bus.
In fact, we are one of the local companies known for going the extra mile—sometimes operating 15–16 hour tours when necessary—because we understand that our guests travel long distances and we do our best to help them experience the Northern Lights. Many of our positive reviews reflect this dedication.
The bus tour price is significantly lower than the small-group tour. Offering an optional upgrade for an additional fee, or a full refund if not accepted, is a fair and standard practice. Expecting a higher-tier service at a lower-tier price is simply not reasonable.
Another inaccurate claim is that you were informed only 3 hours before the tour. In reality, all guests were notified before 11:00 AM, which left approximately 8 hours before the scheduled start time—more than enough time to make alternative plans.

Perfect experience seeing the auroras! We only had to drive 1.5 hours away and ended up on a frozen lake watching the auroras for 2.5 hours. The guides Yahya and Fatih were great and funny and took amazing pictures

We had an incredible experience with Rasa on our Northern Lights tour.
Our tour was cancelled the first two days we were in Rovaniemi due to cloudy weather, but when the conditions finally improved, Rasa went above and beyond—driving us all the way into northern Sweden to chase clear skies. It was a long journey, but absolutely worth it. He knew exactly where to go and found the perfect spots for viewing, and we were rewarded with an amazing Northern Lights display.
I can’t recommend Lapin Taivas and Rasa enough. If you want someone truly dedicated to helping you see the lights, this is the tour to book! ✨

The trip was PERFECT! we were very disappointed our first trip with another company was cancelled the day before, booked the small group trip with Lapin Tavias. And was loosing hope becuase of severe cloud cover, our guide Rasa drove us all the way into Swedish Lapland to find a clear sky! And when the Aurora arrived it was amazing! Even my iPhone camera was able to pick up the lights! Rasa took incredible photos and was brilliant. His enthusiasm for chasing the lights was infectious. And true to their promise, our 10 hour round trip was worth every minute. On the way back Rasa detected another aurora explosion and he stopped and got all of us to have another set of photos. The hot drink and sandwich was a lovely touch. The company had excellent communication from booking to WhatsApp message of the pick up times, drivers name and photo links. We would highly recommend this company and specifically our guide Rasa!

The tour was nicely organised and all communication about pickup, etc. was clear.
The organizers worked hard to locate a good spot and clicked as many pictures with professional cameras as we wanted.
Our ride was very comfortable and warm making us cozy throughout the trip.

This was a fantastic experience viewing the Northern Lights with our excellent tour guides, Emin and Reza, who were both energetic, enthusiastic, and resourceful in hunting for the best view of the NL. The night started out as cloudy with a low chance to see the NL, however with relentless pursuit, the night was capped with a dancing aurora borealis. We all had our pictures taken with the NL as the background and giving us a picturesque experience. I highly recommend this tour group and these two amazing guides. We will never forget this family experience and truly the highlight of this Nordic itinerary.

Chevos, Emil, and Gil are phenomenal and passionate tour guides. Flying from the US, I did 3 different tour companies when I first got to Rovaniemi, including Artic GM, then went with Lapin Tavias for the next 3 nights. They are hype and high energy, and put a lot of effort with the locations and find auroras. Most nights of clear skies, it was a ~1 hour drive, one night was 3.5 hours into Sweden through a snow storm when all other tours cancelled. Sure enough, they found a gap in the clouds and a great Aurora unfolded above us. It was the best one being there for 5 days until the following tonight, which was the best of the season! Sometimes they'll provide a campfire when the location is right, with hot drinks and sandwiches. They also put a lot of effort into the photos they take and upload them basically immediately. Appreciate the great time in Rovaniemi!

-The northern lights were not the strongest that night. (Not the company's fault)
-Our van was joined by another van for the trip and at one point we were 4 vans at the same spot. Too many vans at one place
-The pictures' quality is not the best
-There were annoying people in the tour who could not stop laughing (notvthe company's fault)
+The guide stayed outside to check for the northern lights while we could stay in the van
-He made sure we were not cold and gave us snacks

To achieve full quality of the photos, you have to download the ones you wish to have. Once you download it (We upload both JPEG and RAW, Even though it takes 3 times more storage.) you can see the full quality of Sony A7III Camera body with Sigma astrophotography lense. Could you please double check this and let us know if this topic still an issue? We have delivered more than 30.000 pictures this season and never ever had a quality feedback. On top of this, we are going out with 2 vans per team. Since there might be emergencies, such as reindeer accident, getting stuck to a snow covered lapland roads or electrical problems due to extreme cold. At least 2 vans must be together to keep everybody safe at most remote areas In Lapland. Furthermore, to secure our most precious locations, sometimes teams wait for each other to protect best looking places for your photos. 4 vans joined each other only for 20 minutes so we cannot understand why the dissatisfaction occured. This was the best experience I have ever had with a tour company. Chemo was an amazing guide and his whole team were the best!! I would recommend everyone use them, they are so passionate about making sure you see the lights and see only the best! The northern light was amazing, our drive was a bit bumpy. It’s two vans shared one photographer and it’s cold so we felt a bit rushed when taking photos. The guide made sure we have enough viewing so we were hunting continuously and saw nice dense northern light for around 10 second, we went to different locations for the view. We were also ok to end the hunt because we were getting tired. When we are going back we saw super dense sky. Guarantee to see for sure!

Driver and photographer were great! They found some lights in Sweden so it was a success! It was nice that the driver picked me up and dropped me off where I was staying cause it was outside of the city center. And they found lights so it was great! Photographer I think has great photos too so if you really want to see the northern lights, you should try with them!

Unfortunately we were one of those people who couldn't see the Northern lights but it was not destroying our experience. I was participating with my mum and it was our last night in Rovaniemi and we couldn't spend it better.
The team was super nice and they tried their best to find a place where we can have even just a glance of this natural phenomenon. Our driver was Chevo who was really taking care of our group and make sure we are all enjoying the hunt. He was telling our real chances and keeping us updated but still keeping the positive atmosphere and hope.
Unfortunately the nature was against us, neither the weather conditions nor the solar activities were not helping the situation even the moon was giving too much light. But Chevo was giving us a very interesting and detailed 'lecture' about how the Northern lights work, how they are created, what are the necessary components and why you cannot forecast it and also taking us to different places including a bit of Sweden, taking some photos, explaining the sky and made us feel the excitement of the hunting. from 7pm up to 2.30am we were trying and he wouldn't stop if there was any chance at all.
Thank you Chevo for your hard work. With my mum we can really just recommend this program but please everybody should keep it in their mind that this is always up to the nature at the end.
