A bit chaotic at the office before I set off. I was amazed at the number of people on the tour. I was on coach 7 which was a 55 seater and it was completely full.
We eventually found the Northern Lights after about 2 hours driving north with the driver going down country lanes to the side of a river which meant he had to reverse about 1 kilometre to get back to the main road.
The hot drinks were given out on the coach before we left to come back.
Overall, we saw the lights which was the object so cannot complain too much.

It was a wonderful trip.!!! I enjoyed hearing the information on the bus and the trip up with all the frosted trees. We did get to see northern lights. However, I wish they would have told us that if we see the northern lights, we might not see the color except through a camera.

Excellent tour. Guides : Luca and Julia. They both were persistent and patient in finding northern lights for us in -20 to -30 degrees temperature. Took us around 50-70 km outside rovaniemi. They took multiple photos of us at different locations. On the way back, they spot another spot and stopped. They ensured safety of all guests even during photography sessions .
They als served hot drinks and biscuit when we reached the spot

It was new experience. Our tour guides were very good. They took us every possible location to hunt for auroras but unfortunately the weather didn’t support. It was cloudy all over. But thanks to our guides they made possible to hunt for auroras for a while but was very faint. Hope in future will try back again.

We had a great experience on this tour. Our guides were Santiago, Leevi, and Max. They were in good communication with other hunters and were persistent in finding clear skies; we drove all the way to Sweden and it paid off! We were on the group (bus) tour and we departed at 7:30pm and returned to Rovaniemi at 2:30am as most of the northern light activity occurred just around midnight. Wear ski pants if you have them as we did traverse some pretty snowy terrain to get away from the road. Guides were friendly, professional, persistent, and provided a link to download all the pictures they took of the tour participants. Great experience for us!

I am a 40 year old mum travelling with my 10 year old son and we booked the big group tour (5-6 hour with approximately a group of 45 members) to catch the northern lights on the 23rd Nov 2025.
One hour into our northern lights chase, our big volvo bus broke down and since then everything went downhill. We were back to out hotels at 3 AM without having caught the northern lights.
However, since this tour was a guaranteed northern lights spotting or money back - we were accommodated in the next day's tour. I upgraded out next day's tour to a smaller group one (small 8 seater van with 8 pax) and this was the BEST decision ever made!
Our small group tour started by 7 PM and by 9 PM we had already spotted the northern lights in our first spotting sight. We moved from one sight to the other spotting the beautiful northern lights. Camp fires were set up to keep us warm and many many beautiful pictures were taken with professional cameras to make our experience memorable.
We were back in the hotel by 12:30 AM and when we woke up in the morning, the pictures and videos were already waiting in our mailbox to be downloaded!
My Recommendation : Go with guide Ali. He is awesome and funny. Opt for the small group tours especially if you have kids. The small tours are are personalised and the chances of catching the lights are very very high. It's just easy to maneuver with a small van to nooks and corners than with a huge volvo bus.
My son and I had the best time of our lives with Ali (our tour guide) and with the small group tour option.

The bus doesn’t work, 45 people inside, the second bus the bathroom doesn’t work and we didn’t see any Aurora and we spend 7 hours in the bus.

I have been on several trips now, trying to catch the Aurora. This trip, with Book Lapland, was the biggest group I’ve gone with. That made me nervous. It’s more difficult to have decisions made, when you’re dealing with 35 guests. And I worried about what I would do if I had to use the toilet. As it turned out, there was no need for concern.
Mirco, Max and Tony took great care of us all. We had a briefing before we left, letting everyone know that safety was the first concern, but also that the Aurora Hunt is truly a hunt, with no guarantee of seeing them. And then we set off. Having looked up the Aurora Forecast, I hoped we would travel some distance from downtown Rovaniemi, in order to have better luck seeing the Lights. We did. Like, nearly two hours north, which was absolutely the best decision and showed the true intent to make sure we all saw the Lights. And not, did we see them! Like a well-oiled machine, the three guides, along with our driver, figured out the best places to stop, in order to find clear skies. They worked together to get us there, to take cool photos, to build a small fire, while we waited, and to be sure we were safe and happy.
The long, sleepy drive back was worth it, since we all were buzzing with the energy of having seen something spectacular together. Thank you again, Mirco, Tony and Max.

This was an incredible experience! We had Ali, Mirco, and Tony as our tour guides and they were all extremely optimistic and, at times, even more excited about seeing the lights than we were (even though they do this everyday!). We were really worried that we were not going to see the lights because it was a very cloudy night in Rovaniemi. We felt better as soon as we got on the bus as our tour guides reassured us that even though it was partially up to chance, they were taking us to clear skies and were confident that we would get some action. We ended up driving 2.5 hours north west into Sweden to a beautiful beach of a river. After some patience we got to see the lights and it was incredible! You could take as many pictures on the professional camera as you wanted. There was also a fire hut to warm up at and a yummy warm juice. This experience was definitely made my the expertise of our guides. Thank you!

Not as expected. There was no communication the entire 5 hour journey, no explanation of where we were going or when the lights were coming/why they didn’t come. We could not see the lights with our eyes, and barely could see them through the phone. I do not believe this experience fulfilled our expectations nor was worth the money.

The best experience ever that we had in our stance in Rovaniemi.
Our guide Max, he put all the effort to see the northern lights, he was checking with his phone all the time where we can catch them.
Once we saw it and after some awesome photos, he offered us hot juice and some cookies, the guy was very kind, he made sure we were all happy 🤗

We saw a weak northern lights, and that's fine, because it wasn't their fault. But all I've got after the tour are blurry and out of focus photos. It is a guaranteed tour, so no photos, no money. But they're going to refuse a refund, claiming that blurry photos are still photos. What a ridiculous tour. I have never been on such an irresponsible tour. I do not recommend this at all. This is just an overpriced scam. (Also no tea or snack provided as stated in the tour description)

There was 100% cloud in Roviemi when we started, but we drove about 2 hours north west and the Aurora was beautiful. The guides found the best spot with no cloud coverage and a gorgeous 360 degree view. They then took professional pictures of everone with the Aurora in the background, set up a campfire, and handed out warm beverages and light snacks while we enjoyed the atomphere. All in all, we left their office at 1930, arrived at the viewing area around 2200, watched and enjoyed the scenery until 0000 and was dropped off near our hotels around 0200. Amazing experience! I doubted the likelihood of us seeing the Aurora since the weather was so poor and the cloud coverage was so thick, but they got it done! Once in a lifetime experience!

Our guide yuko is amazing. Really good driver as well. This tour is quite expensive but they will go above and beyond to chase the aurora. There was a bad weather during our trip but we travelled far so we can get to see and experience it.
