- Please be aware that access to the Sistine Chapel is subject to Vatican regulations and ceremonies. The Vatican Museums may decide to close the Sistine Chapel on short notice for official events or religious proceedings. In the event of any unexpected developments, we are unable to foresee or control these closures in advance. However, your ticket will still grant you full access to the Vatican Museums.
- Knees and shoulders must be covered to enter during your visit.
- During high season, a mandatory security check to access the museums may require a wait of up to 30 minutes.
- Visitors holding a disability card with more than 75% are entitled to free entrance and do not need to purchase a ticket.
- Please note: Michelangelo’s “The Last Judgment” on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel is scheduled for an extraordinary maintenance and conservation intervention starting in January 2026, with scaffolding covering the wall for several months. Although the chapel remains open to visitors, the scaffolding will partially obscure the fresco during this period.

Lovely knowledgeable guide, however was late starting as left meeting place at 5ish, with confusion of different shades of blue stickers meaning different tours. After sound check, then had to clear security, then waited for a straggler and everyone used the bathroom. Eventually started prob at 1735. Very quick tour seeing the beautiful Roman and Greek antiquities, then onto a packed Sistine chapel where we ended our tour. Museum shut at 1930 so no time to explore independently but this is I suppose understandable as we booked the last tour of the day. Over all interesting but poorly organised delaying the start.

Our guide Iman was very knowledgeable and he went above and beyond to cover the tour. We spent about 3 hours, toured the museums and of the course the Sistine chapel. Lots of crowds but still manageable.

Our entrance ticket said 29 euro we paid 81 e for skip the line. Did take 10 min to get in but without a guide once enter that was very pricey. 8 e for audio guide than.

I’ve had much better tour guides that are more accommodating to older peopleand give a better tour. The information was ok, I’ve had much more informative tours. For example the tour guide could have pointed out where to take an elevator next to us instead of just taking the stairs.

1. Skip the line was great. No complaints about that.
2. I would skip the English guided tour and go through at own pace. Tour focused on odd parts of the museum and completely skipped the Raphael rooms, the second biggest draw in the entire Vatican collection. We had to back track to go and see the rooms, which then made us have to redo the Sistine Chapel (ok, its always great, but we had plans for afterward and this added at minimum 15 additional minutes).
3. There was very little focus in the tour on the actual artists, outside of Michelangelo (which was appreciated, I wish there had been more of it).
4. Maybe we caught our guide on an off-day, but the tour certainly felt rushed and skipping the Raphael rooms is almost unforgiveable. He didn't even mention them, so had we not known we could have completely missed them.

Misleading experience from the agency. Did not include host to take you to the front of the line neither did they have the audio tour like the ticket had printed. All this was is a ticket they buy/hoard for €20 and sell it to visitors for double the price.

90% of the folks go for the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museum is Added cream on top. The problem is you have to go for over a mile of walking through the Museum with no way to skip anything. There are Thousands of people and when you get to the Chapel, it’s like a cattle car of people, very claustrophobic. It’s beautiful, but with current set up, I wouldn’t ever go back.

No real skip the line needed for Sistine chapel or Museum as everyone goes in the same way and we didn’t skip any line . We didn’t start until 3 even though we booked for 2.30 so wasted 30 mins in the tour office . The only place I saw a benefit of having a “skip the queue “ would be for entry to St Peter’s as we went in normal non paying queue and it was huge . So keep money for St Peter’s skip the line and go via normal ticket for the rest .

However, without a reservation, the general waiting time for the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and even St. Peter's Basilica can often reach two to three hours, especially during busy periods.

I received the tickets via WhatsApp, after providing my number as requested. Tickets were accepted by staff with no issue.
However, trying to meeti the representative to go through security was a waste of time.
I received directions to meet a representative of the company 30 minutes early by Constantine’s Arch; however, he was not there. I called the number, and the person said he was at the white tents and would walk us through security. In two separate messages, he sent a picture of the company’s flag/logo and the crowd at the tent, but I still couldn’t find him. In two phone calls, he could not be clear or specific as to where (which white tents) we could him (for example, telling us what he was wearing); other guides used flags in tall sticks—he definitely did not. We opted to go through the security line on our own, which moved quickly enough. If you use this service, don’t waste time trying to find the representative; the directions even tell you that you can go straight to the line, which I should have done in the beginning. It’s not necessary to go through priority.

This is a good self directed tour. You can see the Vatican and Sistine Chapel at your own pace. No rushing or following tour director. You must pick the tickets up on the street below the Vatican which could be a little confusing. But we found it.

This is not a tour, but an express entry to the Vatican museum and the Sistine Chapel. The waiting lines were long and moving slowly in the heat of the day as we were able to bypass them and enter with our tour professional. The experience is amazing, and you are able to experience it at your own supposed. Just remember the Vatican is a large place!

I was hesitant because Inside-out Italy called me the day before our booking asking to move our tour time from 0830 to 0930. I wasn't excited about it and don't recall the reason, but I didnt have a choice in the matter (I asked). My children and I arrived at 0915 for our new 0930 tour time. There was a little hiccup with getting the entry tickets printed, but all worked out. We departed the tour agency location at 0940 and were through the entry line, security, second entry line, and released into the museums by 1004. We made it in quickly during a Jubilee year, a time when people were waiting 2-3 hours to get in. I am grateful my children did not have to wait in line 2-3 hours in the Rome summer heat.
