- Please note that access to the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica is subject to Vatican regulations and official events and may close these areas without prior notice. However, your ticket will still grant access to the Vatican Museums and partial refunds cannot be issued
- Knees and shoulders must be covered in order to enter
- Visitors with a certified disability of more than 67% are entitled to free admission. If the visitor is not self-sufficient, one accompanying person is also granted free admission.
- Please note that this activity involves extended walking, stairs, and areas with limited or no elevator access. For this reason, it may not be suitable for guests with serious mobility difficulties
- Guests using wheelchairs or mobility aids must follow an alternative accessible route and therefore cannot join the standard group itinerary(if you selected the guided tour option) . Access to St. Peter’s Basilica from the Sistine Chapel is never permitted with wheelchairs and mobility aids. Please contact us before booking so we can assist you with the most suitable option.
- Strollers are allowed inside the Vatican Museums only if foldable, as they may need to be folded and carried during certain parts of the visit
- We're sorry, but late arrivals will not be able to join the guided tour (if selected in the option) due to Museum regulations.
- Please note that skip-the-line access cannot be guaranteed for late arrivals, as priority entry is valid only for the reserved time slot.
- Please note that a live guide and the St. Peter’s Basilica are not included in every booking option. To include Basilica access or a guided tour in your experience, you must select the specific option that clearly mentions a live guide or St. Peter’s Basilica at the time of booking. We kindly recommend reviewing the selected option and its inclusions carefully before completing your reservation.
- The ticket price includes the official Vatican Museums entrance fee (€20+€5 per adult, €8+€5 per child aged 6-18), plus applicable taxes, booking fees, meeting point assistance and operational costs
- Check-in at the meeting point, Via Sebastiano Veniero 74, is mandatory to collect the official tickets , as the booking voucher is not accepted to enter

Book your own tickets in advance with the Vatican. Our local company contracted by Viator was not very friendly, communicative, or on time. The on time thing very frustrating since their communication to me was basically "don't be late, we don't wait on you". But we waited too long to book our own tickets and this was our only way in. So it served a purpose.
Amazing time we had doing the on your own tour only issue was extremely long lines and the heavens open up with rain I never experienced before…the streets flooded and taxi’s raised their prices 🤷🏽♀️ other than that Viator is the way to go!
Wear comfortable walking shoes. Knees and shoulders must be covered, but dress as lightly as possible. Museums are very warm.
The tour was very informative. Francesco was an amazing guide and very kind. He was exceptionally knowledgeable.
The guide was really knowledgeable and made a huge effort, but the sound equipment was terrible and we had a hard time understanding the explanations.
I wouldn’t recommend this tour…terrible guide! He droned on and on, could hardly understand him and most of us just took our ear buds out. Then, he barked at us as we were shuffling through with all the crowds that we couldn’t be in front of him (we were approximately 10’ feet in front), going at a snails pace. The audio radios cut in and out…would have much preferred to do this on our own.
Experience was amazing! Learned a lot. Tour guide made tour very informative and interesting at the same time!
Nice to have skip the line tickets but Jana our guide didn’t really help ensure group was together to get to Vatican entrance. Overall, worth not waiting in long line but museum was very crowded throughout including Sistine Chapel. Also, advertised as audio included but downloaded app wasn’t laid out in an easy to follow manner so you were basically on your own. Assume the vaticans audio would have been better. Also ticket said it did not include St Peter’s but it did, you would have to wait in long line for that but we had purchased separate tickets for St. Peter’s already. Might have been nice to know that we had a choice…
Do not book unless you want to spend a couple hours funneled like a herd animal on a one way path through all these “museums”. No short cuts, no choices, no exits just circle all the way back to the start.

My boyfriend and I got to the Vatican late and I was scared that we’d run into trouble getting in. Andrea walked with us to the gate to help make sure we get in smoothly. Super great!
I purchased the ticket for skip the line without a guide and it was great. I definitely suggest going early in the morning if possible, but I will say the team should be a bit more organized so that we could have quicker entry. Otherwise, the skipped a line was definitely worth it because we only stood in line for less than 10 minutes and we're easily in the museum.
This was a great tour, our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable! 10/10 would recommend! Its worth the price!
Our Tour Guide Michael was the best so knowledgeable and he has the best sense of humor!!!! We had such a blast and we went with teenagers and they also enjoyed the tour guide I’m so happy I booked it with them honestly don’t doubt it it’s really a great choice

If you have a bad back or have a hard time walking, please know this is a long tour and it might be difficult for you

It's very busy and crowded, need to have your photo ID, cover shoulders and knees and carry water. More directions on location of ticket collection would be helpful.
Jana was lovely and helpful, perfect when you want to walk through at your pace but get thru the line.
We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide! She was incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and personable. She shared so many interesting facts and stories that made the tour engaging and enjoyable. She was also friendly, patient, and happy to answer all of our questions. Highly recommend!
There is no such thing as guaranteed jump the queue so get the guided tour upgrade and the guide will get you in. The tour was very comprehensive but we spent too much time in the "intro" before getting in the museum - it may have been due to the unbearable heat on that day but it would have been a lot more interesting to go through it as you are there. There is no guided tour in the cistine chappel the guide leave before you enter but she has already given you all the story outside. Tip : if you do not want to enter the chapel there is no need for "appropriate" clothing, in the museum you can enter as normal only need for the church.
Very disappointing, very misleading & not worth the money, tour guides are non-existent, only there to get you in nothing else
The uber driver dropped us at the stairs but it’s an actual office. Make sure you put it on your map to find the office! The check-was really quick and easy. It is VERY hot during the summer so I recommend bringing water and fan. We had a great time at the Vatican. Very beautiful!!

Of course you’ll want to go to the Sistine Chapel. Our tour guide warned us that people will all be shoving each other trying to get the perfect picture, and this is true. Expect it to be very busy here. You’ll like spend only 5-7 minutes in the chapel itself. Also note that there are many other beautiful ceilings throughout the museum, and hundreds of other works of art, tapestries, statues, etc. to see and admire.

Don’t use their app to listen to your tour information. Rent the museums audio tour instead. Otherwise quick and easy skip the line was worth it

Grand with audio guide. Ended up doing the “kids audio tour” as a base. The queue to get in was fast with these tickets and with kids I think was a good option
