Had a great tour. Excellent drive and tour guide with knowledge about all the temples and different sites we went to. Started off with rain but we made the best of it as the weather got improved.

The driver was a very good driver and patient but I was told we would have an English speaking tour guide. His vocabulary consisted of go right left and I’ll meet you here. He was supposed to tell us about what we going to see. He could not identify major buildings that were around the city. He said he didn’t know how to say them in English.This was the worse tour I have booked with Viator.

The tour itself was okay, but I was very disappointed with the transportation. I paid extra to upgrade to a luxury van because I knew it would be a long day (around 10 hours) and wanted something comfortable. Instead, we were picked up in what felt like an older commercial van that was far from luxurious and not comfortable for a full-day tour.
The guide was polite, but he provided very little information throughout the day. I ended up using ChatGPT on my phone to learn about the places we visited because there was almost no commentary or historical background provided.
The driving also left a lot to be desired. Both my wife and I felt car sick during the trip due to the driving style, which made the experience less enjoyable.
What frustrated me the most was that around 2:00 PM, the guide told us the tour was essentially finished, even though the tour was scheduled to run until 7:00 PM. I had to insist that we continue the tour as originally booked. After discussing it, he took us to two additional locations and later dropped us off at the mall, but I should not have had to push for the full experience that was advertised.
Overall, the destinations were interesting, but the vehicle, lack of guiding, driving quality, and attempt to end the tour early made this experience disappointing. I would not recommend paying extra for the luxury vehicle upgrade

After reviewing your booking, we can see that the reservation on our system reflects a Commuter Van with Driver — not a luxury vehicle upgrade. We also note that the booking was modified prior to the tour date (from June 3 to June 4, and from a Standard Car with Driver-Guide to a Commuter Van with Driver). It's possible there may have been a miscommunication with Viator's customer service during that change. We would kindly ask if you could walk us through your conversation with them — specifically regarding the vehicle upgrade request — so we can investigate this further on our end. We want to make sure you receive a fair resolution.
**Regarding the guiding and commentary:**
The service on our system shows a Driver booking, which covers transportation, basic navigation, and general itinerary assistance. In-depth historical commentary and attraction guidance falls under our Driver-Guide service, which is a separate and additional option. We understand this may not have been clearly communicated to you on Viator's side, and we apologize if there was any confusion around what was included.
**Regarding the tour duration:**

Based on our WhatsApp group records, the drop-off was completed at 5:00 PM — and all six stops were covered: Senso-ji, Tokyo Skytree, Tsukiji, Harajuku, Shibuya, and Odaiba. We believe there may have been some confusion around the timing — it's possible the 2:00 PM mentioned was a reference to a specific stop or a miscommunication during the day, rather than the actual end of the tour. Our records confirm the full service was completed as scheduled.
**Regarding the driving comfort:**
We're sorry to hear that both you and your wife felt uncomfortable during the journey. It's worth noting that the vehicle on your booking was a Commuter Van, which has a more upright, functional seating configuration rather than the reclining, cushioned setup of a luxury vehicle — so we understand the comfort level may not have matched your expectations. Additionally, Tokyo's roads can be quite stop-and-go, especially during a full-day city tour, which can naturally affect ride comfort regardless of vehicle type.

It was terrible. The driver did not know where to go. He could not follow directions and could not drive. He came so close to hitting pedestrians in the cross walk. We finally just bailed and said we would Uber to the hotel.

Muneeb was our private driver and tour guide for nine hours !! Our first trip to Tokyo was perfect because of his knowledge, personal attention to detail, and passion for the Japanese culture!! We saw the highlights including dressing up in kimonos and strolling the streets to the famous temple!!

Emon our driver was so friendly and had so much information we really enjoyed it her personalized it based on what our family wanted and even stopped for a bathroom break for my 3 year old. We saw all the highlights of the city and even recommended an Italian place for us to eat at so my kids can eat pasta and pizza. This was a fantastic tour. Muneeb was our guide and he was awesome, you should request him when you book this tour. Upon starting our day we immediately threw him some curveballs and asked if we could modify the agenda, he was happy to oblige and ensure we toured what we wanted to see and some other special recommendations he made. At several stops, including the fish market her parked the car and gave us a guided tour. He was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day, including finding a great lunch spot. This was an all day 10 hour tour and we enjoyed every minute. We traveled with another couple and all had a great time! Highly recommend!

We enjoyed this tour very much. Our driver was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed seeing the various Temples, Shrines, Tori’s and markets. Unfortunately, our driver was ill, but he claimed it was hay fever. A few days later, 3 of the 4 of us became sick too. We wish we had a driver who was healthy as three of us are now struggling to enjoy our vacation.

He’s very personable, extremely knowledgeable and speaks fluent English without any accent (we’ve had guides who were hard to understand).
