Make your own way to the centrally located meeting point in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district. Settle into your comfortable coach and make use of the free Wi-Fi during the drive to Mt. Fuji's 5th Station—if the 5th Station is inaccessible due to road or weather conditions, you’ll visit the highest station possible.
Next, explore the Owaku-dani valley volcanic area on Mt. Hakone, which is characterized by sulfuric vapors and hot springs. Your guide willl fill you in on the details about this unique landscape before you board the Hakone Ropeway for an exciting ride from Owakudani to Togendai.
Finallly, round out your day with a relaxing cruise on Lake Ashi and (if it is a clear day) soak up the views of Mt. Fuji from the ship deck. You can either return to Tokyo by coach or opt to save time by taking the bullet train.

- This tour will depart regardless of weather or traffic conditions, unless you are notified otherwise by the local operator. Viator and your local tour operator will not be responsible for itinerary changes due to unforeseen circumstances
- As it is stipulated by the law of Japan, please wear your seat belt on the tour bus.
- Please be noted that you cannot change the scheduled return location after the tour.
- In case of traffic congestion or any other uncontrollable reasons, may lead to changes on tour schedule or time shorten in each sightseeing spots, please be noted in advance.
- In case of bad weather, there is a chance that Mount Fuji cannot be seen. For this reason we will not cancel the tour or make any refund.
- When there are only small group of participants, instead of departing with big bus, small-size van may be used. Please note that regardless of the method returning to Tokyo, all participants will be departing by same vehicle.
- Due to bad weather or traffic congestion the road to Mt. Fuji 5th Station may not be able to pass through, the tour schedule will change to visit "Fujisan World Heritage Center" or sightseeing at Fuji 1st to 4th Station.
- In case you miss your Bullet Train after disembarking at Odawara Station due to a delay, no refund will be made. Please ride on the next train in the Non-reserved section. If you plan to take Bullet Train after the tour, please make sure to choose Bullet Train departing from Odawara Station.
- In case the pirate ship is being cancelled due to some circumstances, you will be redirected for sightseeing at Hakone Machi.
- The tour guide will not board on the Bullet Train from Odawara to Tokyo due to operation reason. The tour guide will notify those who are returning by Bullet Train how to get back to hotel from Tokyo station before boarding on the train.
- Please wear shoes that enable walking smoothly and easily during the tour.
- In case the Hakone Ropeway and Hakone Pirate Ship is unable to operate due to some circumstances, the tour will be guided to one of the following alternative destinations. Hakone Komagatake Ropeway, Hakone Lake Ashi Boat Cruise, Lake Kawaguchi Cruise on Lake Kawaguchi, Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, Mishima Skywalk, Odawara Castle, Hakone Venetian Glass Museum, Hakone-en Aquarium, Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone Checkpoint, Hakone Shrine, etc. (The tour will not be canceled and refunds will not be issued for this reason.)
- Depending on weather conditions (such as high humidity, heavy rain, fog), Mt. Fuji may not be visible.
- Please note that no refunds will be issued for claims regarding the weather or the change of schedule applied to the tour by the tour guide or any of the staff.
- You can decide to get off the bus at Hakone Yumoto Station or Odawara Station at the end of the tour, please let us know in advance. Also, this won't influence the cost of this product, which will remain identical to the main option "Return by motorcoach".
- Children up to 5 years old may join free of charge, but will not be provided with bus seats or lunch. If bus seats or lunch is required, please make a booking under the child rate.
- In case of severe weather or traffic congestion and the bus unable to pass through the road towards Mt. Fuji 5th Station, the tour will visit Oshino Hakkai, Fujisan World Heritage Center, Lake Kawaguchi Oishi Park or Lake Yamanakako Hana no Miyako Park. Please note that an alternative itinerary may also be omitted depending on road condition.
- The tour will arrive back at Shinjuku around 19:30.Depending on the traffic condition,it may get later.
- If you choose the option without lunch, we recommend that you prepare lunch before your departure as lunch places may not be available.
- On the bullet train, non-reserved seat ticket is provided. From Odawara to Tokyo, there are 2 trains per hour in average.
- Allergies or Gluten Free: unfortunately we do not provide gluten free meals, but we can accommodate most of the allergy requests.
- To ensure smooth arrangements, please inform us of your intention to use a wheelchair at the time of booking.

Packed itinerary, well led by guide who ensured all information was provided and added a few bonus activities ( simple origami). We were lucky and it was a sunny day with blue skies so the shy Mount Fuji could be seen. Would recommend this trip and would definitely take bullet train to return back to Tokyo.

Awesome experience, tour guide and driver were very professional and pleasant. Will rebook next year when I return with my family. Thank you for the opportunity to explore and experience Mt. Fuji and Hanoke. The air tram and boat ride were amazing.

It really is all day so prepare for that. If you can pick a day with perfect weather - do. We scheduled in advance but it was foggy day and couldn’t see much of Mt Fuji from 5th station or on lake, gondola, or the volcanic area. We still enjoyed the day but it would have been amazing had the weather been better.

The tour to Mt. Fuji was a miracle! The day of the tour was cold, light rain and foggy. When we arrived at the 5th Station we could barely see. However, before leaving (on our descent) Fuji magically appeared! Everyone was extremely happy. We had a wonderful tour guide who was trying to make the best of a gloomy day. The brief appearance of Fuji made up for it!

It was unfortunate that the weather didn’t cooperate but almost all the attractions were cancelled, except for the lunch. Tour guide tried his best to salvage the trip but each time we arrived to the next event, it was cancelled. We felt trapped on the bus. Very disappointing trip.

It was a really good day (and both the guide and driver were brilliant). Sadly, the weather impacted on the day - we were fortunate that the clouds cleared for a moment but we saw very little of mount fuji. Can't blame the tour company for this, but don't book thinking you're definitely going to see anything. Plenty of rest stops and lunch was acceptable both to those with an adventurous palate and those with blander tastes!

Full day, dress appropriately, plenty of restrooms, short stops along the way & shopping. Good lunch, gondola and ship all good!! Guide ends trip at the train station u must make your way back from Tokyo station. Enjoyed the full day tour,just wish we saw Mt Fuji in all her glory. Rainy day 😞

Fujiko was a very knowledgeable guide but the way she spoke was at times less than understandable. However, she seemed to be a very passionate and helpful guide.
Due to weather we were not able to go to the 5th station on the mountain and instead visited a quaint village. We saw Mt. Fuji from afar and enjoyed the Hakone ropeway( cable car) as well as the boat trip.

The tour guides are very disorganized we wer e told to meet 15 min prior to our 830 time th ey were NOT in the correct meet up spot and then we didn't take off till 9am, spent 3hrs on the bus for one stop at an obstructed view of mt fuji at some out post, we didn't get to see the 2nd stop and take photos then we spent 50 min in line for the ropeway only to not hav e enough time to get on we quite literally sat ALL DAY on the bus. The food was okayish n othing to write home about. On multiple differ ent occasions the tour guide just walked off not alerting the group on where to go, how to get there, and leaving a group of 30 people c ompletely disorganized. Im sure the guides ar e nice ladies but don't waste your money her
e. You're better off taking the train and seeing g Mt Fuji/Hakone on your own. $315 wasted i n my opinion. Even the boat ride was cramped and just not worth it and then the bullet train station was 10x worse. Just all in all a poor experience.

Wide variety of activities. Excellent Japanese lunch. Talented tour guide who filled the dead time with activities and information. Managed a complicated itinerary with a long delay due to traffic, but we still made it in time for our bullet train return.

Fantastic guide, great from the start. We had two guides one who spoke English and one who spoke Spanish to cater for two folks but it worked well. We could not go to stationb5 due to landslides and the ropeway was closed due to dever winds but our guides and driver made uo for it with some extra stops of interest. Fuji came out for some great shots. Recommend this trip tonothers

Mindy and ouchi (please excuse spelling ) werewonderful MIndy understood from the beginning that I needed a little help Always found a seat for me or route to elevater I felt sheperded by a Mother hen Her language skills were very good Had no trouble understanding and thoroughly enjoyed her explanations and activities Sadly couldn t take gondola ride due to wind but provided another spot of EDO history My only issue would be time I realyreally wanted to see displays and movie at Mt Fugi World heritage site but there wasnt time I would prefer dropping walk around lakes and stream and have more time at heritage center Boat ride though interesting was not alluminating in anyway We had an overcast day , though and scenery must be awesome on a clear day

A bit hit and miss on this tour.
Meeting location a scramble as non of the tour providers had flags or signs out making identication hard and many people were frustrated.
Bus drive was good and as expected. Mt Fuji was amazing. Food was good but we were rushed out to go to next location Hazone, only to be left standing around for an hour.
We did not go on the Ropeway as there was no time and only went 1 way over Ashi Lake. Our tour guide did what she could but the time management issue seems to be a result of poor organisation by the company.
We were then offer acces to the Hakone Sekisho free of charge but barley had time to even walk through the door and we had to leave. Many people on this tour were not happy. I did reach out to the company through this system but have heard nothing back. This is poor customer service and a failure to provide what was paid for.

Guide and bus were late, it was a busy holiday time and the company failed to take consideration of these factors. Guide didn’t wear company uniform at meeting point. Most of the day spent in traffic jams or standing in queues at the rope car and boat trip. Eventually boat trip was cut short. Suppling company failed to take any responsibility for the chaotic day that fell far short of its description and my expectations, refusing any compensation. They ruined a bucket list trip.

This trip could be adverseley affected by the weather. Mount Fuji will not be visible if there is cloud cover. However, the guide was lovely, knowledable and keen to make sure that everyone had a great experience. Mount Fiju sadly was not visible for our trip but Kimmie adjusted the programme to build in substitute visit to the Cultural Heritage centre. A lovely lunch served at the spa but the bullet train was for us, the best saved until last with an exciting experience.

The meetup instructions were very clear and we departed on time, there were some well timed stops with food, drink and souvenir options at each stop. The bus was comfortable and the tour guide very helpful and communicated in English very well. The weather wasn't exactly cooperative, but it was a day trip to Mt. Fuji in March. The ropeway was a nice break from the bus, we had plenty of time to explore the museum and shops. We made our last stop for the Pirate ship cruise on Lake Ashi, which was a relaxing experience. All in all, I feel like this was a high value tour and a great way to fill up a day with sights without having to think or stress about anything.

Great experience visiting Mt. Fuji, Owakudani and cruise around Lake Ashi. Suzuki San was our tour guide and gave us good information during the tour. We got to eat Kurotamago (black egg) from Owakudani. Lunch provided was delicious. We chose the option to take the bullet train back to Tokyo, would recommend if you haven't done it before. My family (2 adults and 2 kids (8 and 10yo) enjoyed this tour.
