An amazing day with our guide David on the Mount Fuji and Hakone tour. Even though it was raining, everything was managed perfectly and the experience was still very enjoyable.
The tour started with visits to Oshino Hakkai, Kitaguchi Shrine, and Lake Kawaguchi, all of which looked beautiful in the rain. After that, a stop at a Japanese restaurant for a very delicious lunch made the day even better.
Later, the trip continued to Hakone, where we explored Owakudani (steam volcanic area) and enjoyed a relaxing Lake Ashi cruise. Although the tour was originally for Mount Fuji, David did an excellent job managing both Fuji and Hakone, making the whole experience more complete and memorable.
David arrived at the hotel early, gave a warm welcome, and stayed professional, polite, and friendly throughout the day. He is also a very skilled driver, and everything felt safe and comfortable.
He works with Live Nippon and truly knows the best places to visit. Anyone planning a Fuji or Hakone tour should definitely follow his guidance.

ISRAR was our driver for this trip and he was excellent to spend the day with. Very professional, knowledgeable, excellent driver and was able to pick the best spots for us to visit and see Mt Fuji and all the sites as promised. The experience was exceptional. ISRAR’s car was superb and was a luxury vehicle as described. I would recommend ISRAR to be your guide and would happily do this trip again. The entire service is 5 star. Sikii our guide / driver was amazing. We requested for an early meet up to have a higher chance of seeing Mt Fuji, and he graciously agreed. He was very helpful and assisted us with the ropeway tickets and to help us choose our meals for lunch. That made it a breeze for us, as we we were able to avoid the crowd. Sikii always checked on our preference and focused only on places that we preferred. Mt Fuji also did not disappoint us today. Keep up the good work Sikii! Thanks.

David is a phenomenal tour guide. He knew all the best viewing spots, picturesque locations and even took photos of us! Mt Fuji definitely has a lot to offer and we chose a guide to save on time and money. David even led us to a speedboat tour which allowed us to get up close and snap some really memorable pics. He was extremely helpful, attentive and knowledgeable. Without him this excursion would have taken twice as long and we would have seen and done twice as less. Highly Recommended!!

We booked a private Mt. Fuji & Hakone tour through Viator for $470 for two people. Overall, it was a good experience with some areas that could be improved.
Our guide/driver was very kind, punctual, and clearly experienced. He speaks fluent Japanese, which was helpful locally. Communication in English was sometimes a bit challenging, and we didn’t always fully understand the explanations, which made it harder to follow along at times. That said, we did appreciate that he helped set up WhatsApp communication initially, which made coordination and meeting up very smooth and convenient.
We were very lucky to see Mt. Fuji earlier in the day, which was definitely a highlight and made the trip special for us.
The itinerary, however, felt a bit lighter than expected. Out of the many stops listed, we were taken to about four, and some of them were relatively brief. The day also ended around 3:30pm (likely due to light traffic), which made it feel shorter than what we had in mind for a full-day private tour.
Since the tour is advertised as a “Mt. Fuji & Hakone” experience, we also expected to learn and see a bit more of Hakone. In reality, most of the focus seemed to be on Mt. Fuji, and we didn’t come away with a clear sense of what was included in Hakone. It may be that more time was naturally spent around Mt. Fuji, but a bit more balance or explanation would have helped.
One suggestion for improvement would be better guidance around optional activities. We chose to do the boat ride (about $63 for a 20-minute speedboat ride), but at that time Mt. Fuji was completely covered by fog and the conditions were quite windy. Without the view of Mt. Fuji, the experience was fairly limited. It would have been very helpful if we were advised ahead of time that the boat ride is most worthwhile when Mt. Fuji is visible, so we could make a more informed decision.
We also assumed the guide might accompany us on the boat to explain the surroundings, but he did not join us. This may have been our expectation, but clarifying this in advance would help future travelers.
That said, he did accompany us briefly at a shrine and helped take photos at a couple of scenic spots, which we appreciated.
Overall, we had a good day and appreciated the guide’s kindness and effort. With clearer communication, better expectation-setting, and a slightly fuller and more balanced itinerary, this tour could be even better. We’re still glad we went—especially for the chance to see Mt. Fuji.

David is an amazing guide! He arrived even before our scheduled time, which we really appreciated. He is very kind, polite, and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire trip while guiding us in a very professional way.
We started our day with a visit to Oshino Hakkai, which was beautiful and peaceful. Then we went to Kitaguchi Shrine, where David explained everything very nicely. After that, we enjoyed a speed boat ride at Lake Kawaguchi as David recommended—it was a fantastic experience and the view of Mount Fuji was very clear and absolutely stunning.
David also suggested a great Pakistani restaurant for lunch, which we really enjoyed. Later, we visited Oishi Park, had some delicious ice cream, and then went to the Herb Garden, where the views were truly amazing.
Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable experience with David. Highly recommended for anyone planning a Mount Fuji tour!

We did the day trip to Mt Fuji and surrounding area with our driver Haseeb. Haseeb arrived on time and the luxury van was very comfortable for our family of 5 adults. He provided options and suggestions for the sights to visit as well as explaining the history of the places we visited . We were very fortunate to have clear views of Mt Fuji throughout the day. We visited the Chuerito Pagoda first, then Lake Kawaguchi/Oishi park for a speedboat ride which we thoroughly recommend. We stopped for photos in front of the Lawson diner, then Haseeb took us to an ancient temple with the most beautiful, enormous cedar trees, then on to a small village. We chose to visit the last two places rather than drive to 5th station. Overall it was a great day trip from Tokyo. We would thoroughly recommend using this tour group with a driver if you have a small group rather than going by bus or train. It is very comfortable and you have someone to guide you and provide suggestions. Thank you Haseeb for a very pleasant day out.

While the scenery around Mt. Fuji is undeniably stunning, the overall tour experience didn’t fully live up to expectations.
Our driver was very friendly but quite talkative, which at times made it difficult to relax and take in the surroundings. More importantly, the itinerary felt underwhelming for a 10-hour private tour. The stops we visited didn’t feel like the most impactful or well-curated viewpoints or experiences in the area.
In hindsight, I may have enjoyed a structured group or bus tour more, as it likely would have provided richer historical context and more intentional stop selection.
If you book this tour, I’d strongly recommend pre-planning your exact stops in advance to make the most of your time.

Wonderful guide — highly recommend Sikii!
We had a fantastic day exploring Mt. Fuji and Hakone with Sikii as our guide. He was warm, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel personal rather than just another tour.
Towards the end of the day we were running tight on time, and without any hesitation Sikii stayed an extra 30 minutes to make sure we got the most out of the trip.

We had an incredible day trip from Tokyo with David! We visited many sites on this 10 hour tour in the Mt Fuji area. We turned the location choices over to David and we were so happy we did. We had a few specific requests and he accommodated seamlessly. He planned our day so we missed the larger crowds at each stop. I have been booking tours on Viator for over 15 years and this was one the best I have been on anywhere in the world.

The sites visited were great, but our guide was not. More of a driver than a guide. Did not share any information about any sites we visited beyond a sentence or two.
We were left on our own to figure things out.
Also took several personal calls while driving that were loud and intrusive.

We loved it. Abdul, our driver and guide made some great recommendations. All the iconic Mt. Fuji spots were almost empty as we got to beat the traffic and we also got to explore some of the places he suggested, such as Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine Area and couple others.

Our tour guide was Zia. He recommended an earlier start to beat the crowds and it was the right call. When we got to observation deck line it was already 30 min.
At the flower garden, he told us to walk around while he waited in line for us.

Our private tour was comfortable And interesting with a first class suv and driver! He recommended starting at 5:30 am to avoid traffic and that was a great idea! We got to see extra sites and had time for a speed boat ride on the lake. Loved it! Our guide was very knowledgeable and made good recommendations for food and snacks. It was so nice to have almost no traffic and no lines at the sites! 5:30 may sound early but coming from the US we’ve been waking up at 4 am all week anyway ! Highly recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful time doing the tour with our tour guide maz! He was very accommodating and easy to communicate with, our air bnb was not easy to get to but he was able to find us to pick us up! Haan was our tour guide, and he was training Anthony. They took very good care of us and made sure we had an enjoyable time. The weather was bad, and the Mt Fuji station was closed because of snow and ice. The boat rides and cable car rides were also not operating because of the weather. But Haan and Anthony took us to other locations where we could see the cherry blossoms and enjoy Mt Fuji shopping. Ask Haan about the sake brewery we visited. They give samples! Haan and Anthony were great guides. We’ll have to go back to Japan to see Mt Fuji, and I hope we get either Haan or Anthony again!
