Ali was a great guide. Great communication. Very friendly. Great driving. Adapted day to my family's interests. The fast boat lake tour (2000 yen per person) was a lot of fun. Ali took excellent pictures for my family. I would give Ali 5 stars, no doubt.
However, some of the experiences with the tour company (Live Nippon) could be improved.
1) Because ticket costs were not included in this tour, I asked multiple times before the tour - how much cash do I need to prepare for the day. It was very difficult to get this information. I would hope that the tour company would have this information easily available, but apparently not.
2) The listed 12 places on the itinerary is very misleading. Apparently, this tour includes 10 hours of the driver/guide's time, total, from pick up to drop off. There is no way to complete the itinerary within 10 hours. We ended up paying for two extra hours, plus a steep 15,000 yen additional fee for drop-off at Disney (which is just outside Tokyo) -- and still did not complete the listed itinerary.
I would recommend this tour if expectations were set more clearly about what could be seen within 10 hours and extra hourly charges.

Driver was great, friendly and a great communicator. I f you know it’s going to rain I would cancel since you won’t see anything and it’s just not worth it. Don’t go where lunch is recommended, it’s a scam. Lunch was $185 for 3 of us. You are shown a price but we didn’t understand that because we wanted noodles it was doubled. I’m sure this won’t get published

Though the trip says Fuji and Hakane, the 10 hours time will only allow either Fuji area extensively or Fuji and Hakane.
The trip was very well managed by our guide, all major areas including kuagwachiko lake

The four of us had the most perfect day, despite the mysterious Mt Fuji hiding away. Israr was an excellent driver and a knowledgeable and accommodating guide. He ascertained what we would most like to see and gave us a fantastic itinerary. We started at Oshino Hakkai, a fascinating World Heritage village. We really wanted to go to the 5th Station. Despite the lack of visibility, we really enjoyed the experience. Then we went to beautiful Lake Kawaguchiko where we had such a fun boat ride and a great lunch. Finally, we visited Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine. If you think you’ve seen enough shrines, think again! This one is very special. It has an incredibly beautiful setting and a fascinating history. We can’t thank Israr enough for giving us such a wonderful day. He was a warm and lovely host.

David is a very knowledgeable guide and very accommodating. We got to see not only Mt Fuji and Hakone, but we went to Oshino-Hakai, a 300 year old village with fresh mochi and a 1900 year old Shinto shrine with 1000 year old trees. Both of which were not scheduled on the tour. Highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic day exploring Mt. Fuji and Hakone. The scenery was incredible and the whole trip was smooth from start to finish.
A huge shoutout to Sam, our driver, who was an absolute legend. He was friendly, professional, easy to talk to, and made the whole day feel relaxed rather than rushed. He knew the area well, helped everything run perfectly, and genuinely made the experience better.
Seeing Mt. Fuji in person was unforgettable, but having a great driver and guide makes such a difference on a full-day trip. I’d happily book this tour again and would 100% recommend Sam to anyone visiting Tokyo who wants to experience Fuji and Hakone.

The tour showcases Mt Fuji and surrounding areas but it also encompasses the history of the area and gives first timers an upfront look at Japan’s most famous landmark. Seeing Mt Fuji was definitely the highlight but our tour guide Maz made sure that we enjoyed the day as we sampled local fare (including fruits, ice cream and lunch (Ramen)) and he gave us the opportunity to do things that we didn't expect including a speed boat ride on the lake with Mt Fuji in the background. Also, his commentary and knowledge was very informative. This tour was definitely worth the wait.

We highly recommend this tour. Areeb , the tour operator was fantastic, it was a wonderful experience for us, he took us all the way up to the fifth level of mount Fujy, and the mount was fully visible. Areeb was so accommodated with all of us

This was our first experience with a personal tour guide. Maz was fantastic. The night before the tour, he checked the weather and saw that rain was predicted for Mt. Fuji at the time we had scheduled. Suggested we leave earlier to see if we could beat the rain. He supplied historical context and interesting tidbits at each site. We kept the schedule flexible depending on what was viewable. We didn't feel rushed and had ample time to explore and shop.
We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. We wanted to see Mt. Fuji, but unfortunately the clouds blocked our view the whole day. With the flexible schedule, we visited Hakone Ropeway and the Black Egg, the village of Oshino Hakkai, the Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen shrine, Lake Kawaguchi for lunch and a quick stop for delicious ice cream at Oishi park.
Maz navigated us ahead of the tour bus crowd and the heavy traffic of Friday afternoon Tokyo. Would highly recommend Maz and the tour.

Pradhan our driver and guide was punctual and accommodating. We were very lucky to get clear views of Mount Fuji before the weather spoiled. Due to terrible traffic we never cot to see all the sights in the itinerary.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **10/10 – Outstanding Hakone Tour!**
Areeb was an outstanding tour guide! Because we were traveling with children and the weather wasn’t favorable for seeing Mt. Fuji, he recommended that our group experience Hakone instead—and it was an excellent choice.
The **Lake Ashi cruise and Hakone Ropeway** were so much fun, especially for the kids. Areeb made sure we knew exactly where to go and what to do, which made the entire experience easy and enjoyable.
We had an amazing day and made wonderful memories. **10 out of 10 and absolutely worth it!** I highly recommend Areeb and this tour! 🇯🇵❤️

Of the 10 hours on the tour 5 were in traffic to leave and enter Tokyo. Then add another 2 hours for driving around the Mt Fuji area. Then another hour for lunch leaves about 2 hours to actually do anything. Waste of time. Also it would be better if we had a Japanese tour guide

Your tour took place during Obon, one of Japan's busiest holiday travel periods, when millions of residents travel domestically, leading to significant congestion on the expressways in and out of Tokyo as well as around the Mt. Fuji area. While our drivers always aim to optimize routes and timing, this seasonal congestion was unfortunately beyond our control.
We appreciate your feedback regarding a Japanese guide. As our tours are conducted in English by default, we work with a diverse team of non-Japanese driver-guides who are all well-trained, knowledgeable, and experienced in sharing the history and culture of each destination. For future bookings, please feel free to specify if you'd prefer a local Japanese-speaking guide, and we'll do our best to accommodate that request.

Meh! Long drive. To essentially see one temple and a reconstructed village. Seeing Fuji great. Everything else pretty dull. Our guide was disinterested and tried to get us to leave at 0530 to avoid traffic. 0800 scheduled. Complained about traffic the whole time and reminded us incessantly about how the tour would be better if we left on his schedule. As the tour ended complained to us that since we left “late” ( we left on time), he now had a long ride home. Guide was way more concerned about his convenience than our experience. This tour is the perfect example of how a guide can make or break the experience. In this case, he broke it. Not recommended.

Pradhan was our driver and he helped prioritize which parts of the Mt. Fuji area we wanted to see. He was very knowledgeable and helpful with our family of six. He has the “inside” knowledge of which restaurants are worthwhile and how to beat the tourist traffic. I would highly recommend a tour with Pradhan.
