- ALL Participants will need an International Driving Permit issued in the format of the 1949 Geneva Convention from a government authorized association to drive in Japan. • EXCEPT participants with licenses issued in Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium, or Monaco will need to obtain a Japanese translation of their license from the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF)
- Drivers' licenses issued by countries not covered by the 1949 Geneva Convention (such as China, Indonesia, Mexico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, etc.) are not permitted to drive in Japan
- Participants must carry their physical International Driving Permit (or for exceptional countries listed above that requires a Japanese translation, the physical domestic license + official translation) and physical passport
- Minimum age is 18 years
- Wear flat closed footwear, Do not wear no long flowy skirts or dress.
- **ATTENTION: If your group is more than 6 drivers, your group will split into 2 smaller groups with a guide leading each group.
- You MUST inform us if you have any level of hearing impairment or mobility impairment.

Had a great time with Michael as our guide. The pictures online don’t do this tour justice. Driving the carts around Shibuya was exhilarating and we drove a lot faster than I expected we would drive. Super fun and memorable experience. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo!

We had an absolute blast! I wish we were able to drive the whole hour we booked but traffic was smooth sailing so we finished the “course” a bit quicker. Our guide Azeez did an amazing job at keeping our group together and watching out for other cars and hazards for us. And he took amazing photos :D 10/10 would go again!!

If you have a driving licence and you book before visiting Japan (you need a 1949 Geneva Convention licence as well), this is 100% something you should do in Tokyo! Great fun, really easy to adapt to the cart in 1 minute (!!), and a different experience to anything else you will do. The team at Street Kart were very organised and efficient. Dressing up as Winnie the Po and Piglet was also fun 😄

Riding around Shibuya on street karts was a fun and memorable experience. I recommend attending at night when all of the building are lit up. The only thing that took away from my enjoyment of the experience were the gas fumes which were strongest while watching the orientation video in the garage and while stopped behind other karts at stop lights. Otherwise, I recommend trying this unique way of seeing the city!

Our experience with the Official Street Go-Kart in Shibuya was absolutely unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing guide, Daniel.
From the very start, Daniel made us feel safe, comfortable, and excited for the adventure ahead. He gave clear instructions, kept the group organized, and made sure everyone was having a great time throughout the entire ride. Driving through the busy streets of Shibuya was thrilling, and Daniel handled everything professionally while still keeping the energy fun and light.
What really stood out was his friendliness and enthusiasm. He interacted with everyone, took great photos for us, and made sure we captured those once-in-a-lifetime moments cruising past iconic spots. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it made the experience even more special.
If you’re thinking about doing the street go-kart tour in Shibuya, I highly recommend it—and if you get Daniel as your guide, you’re in for an even better experience. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Japan!

A very unique experience mentored by very professional driver guides.
The streets of Tokyo - especially when you are in low slung vehicle - can be daunting but the professionalism of our guides (in our case Daniel) ensures that you are always safe while enjoying the ride.
For, in my case, it was indeed more about the experience/driving through Tokyo than the sightseeing - the latter you only do at the red light (as otherwise you are focused on driving safely).
Keep in mind that the experience goes both ways, you are also a marketing tool for the company.
Hence wearing a custome is not a requirement and while it adds to the company’s marketing it also benefits you as the guide will often take pictures of the group that they will share with you for free on Google Drive.
At the end of the day, I greatly enjoyed myself and do recommend this unique experience.
They are very professional and also fun.

Time slot isn’t truly 45-60 mins of driving but other than that it is accurate for the description. It still is super cool and a neat experience. You go through Shibuya crossing multiple times and directions.

This was easily one of the most fun and unique experiences I had in Tokyo. Driving a go kart through the streets of the city is something you don’t get to do anywhere else, and doing it through Shibuya and Harajuku made it even better.
Rolling through Shibuya Crossing was the highlight. You feel the energy of Tokyo all around you, and people actually stop, wave, and take photos it turns into part of the experience. The costumes add a fun touch without feeling forced.
The team was professional and made everything simple. Clear instructions, safety first, and they kept the group organized the whole time. Even if you’ve never done anything like this before, you feel comfortable quickly.
The route was well planned and covered key spots without dragging. It felt fast-paced in a good way, with just enough time to enjoy each moment.
If you want something different from the typical sightseeing tour, this is it. Fun, memorable, and worth doing.

This was a blast! I don’t think we’d ever drive a car in Tokyo but we did drive a go cart through the street of Shibuya and the famous Shibuya Crossing.. It was raining and the company gave us the option of going on the tour, rescheduling or getting a refund. We chose to go ahead and we are glad we did! We got wet, but the fun made up for it. Clifton was a fun guide and ensured our safety. This was a unique experience and we would recommend for anyone looking to do something a little different.

A must do while in Tokyo !!! A brilliant company to go with very organised a safety conscious . Michael led us through the the streets of shibuya and can’t believe we got across the famous shibuya crossing in one piece! So much fun! If you’re planning to visit Tokyo make sure you book this experience and get your IDP before leaving home! The date I scheduled for ended up with rain. I was given the option to reschedule but my group went for it anyway and it was still a blast, even in the rain. I would 100% book this again in Tokyo and I would also recommend it to anyone visiting.

Had the entire trip planned a month in advance. International Driving Permit was acquired and available both digitally and with printed in hand PDF version. The IDP is valid in Japan yet this company refused to accept. Viator did not include these requirements in their description at all. Disappointed birthday celebration and overall embarrassing.

This was incredibly fun and the best way to see Shibuya at night. Not all the walking in the massive crowds. You get to drive through it all and watch. The go karts and costumes are amazing. I have been wanting to do this for years in my trips to Japan (twice a year) and this was the first time I did it because my 18yr old nephew came with me.
I would do it again, may be even every trip. Street Kart Shibuya is professional and explain everything to you and they make sure your safety is most important.

This was a fantastic experience. Light rain persisted early in the day but fine when we zoomed around Shibuya. Two runs though the famous Crossing at dusk (with 1000’s watching on) was a hoot.
