Amazing, interesting and full day, all supervised by lovely Mai! Sun shone and Mount Fuji stood majestic. Wonderful lunch, cable car and boat trip and home quickly via the bullet train! Nothing not to love!

Our guide Momo was wonderful, and the tour was wonderful, especially since Mt Fuji was as clear as a bell. The variety of the bus ride, Fuji, the cable car ride, the Ninja restaurant, Lake Hakone, and the Bullet train back to Tokyo was very nice. The offered meal was very tasty, but the way it was served or buffeted was less than Japanese esthetic.

A Real Letdown

Although our tour guide was really sweet, I would have preferred to learn about the people and history of Japan and to be told about the places we were passing through on the tour. Instead we were taught how to say hello, thank you, sorry, and to learn 1 to 10. The day was wasted because of long traffic queues and long queues of people throughout the day. The biggest fiasco was queuing for 40 minutes to go up in a cable car, to get out and queue again to get back into one to go down. We didn’t even go outside, and to be honest it just looked like a building site. We then went on a pirate ship and had our time cut back once again - on board for 20 minutes, a pure fiasco. The only ok part of the day was the lunch that we ate at 11.30am. To say I was disappointed was an underestimation. I was so embarrassed by the day as I took a friend saying what a great company Viator was. I used you last year for my trip to Iguana Falls which was superb. I’m dreading the fact that I have another trip booked with you on 2nd April - whatever are we going to get on that day !!!!!! (I don’t particularly want you to publish this but I want you to know you had many disgruntled customers today)

But since Mount Fuji is about 100 and few kilometers away from Tokyo and also our tour incorporates traveling to Hakone area (another prefecture from where Mount Fuji is), it hence results for the bus ride to get a little extended. With this, our tour takes you to 3 different prefectures in one day which if one had to do on their own would not be possible at any cost. Perfect day visiting My. Fuji and Hakone! Tsubasa was our guide and his energy and enthusiasm was fantastic! He was so organized and kept us on schedule but didn’t make us feel rushed. Awful

This trip was a total waste of time and very expensive. The advert showed a beautiful Galleon on the lake with Mt Fuji in the background. On arrival to lake we were ushered onto large modern catamaran what a disappointment. The receipt also said the tour needed good weather to operate, the weather was shocking so we saw nothing but thick grey rain clouds. The cable car was ridiculous as visibility was zero. Buffet lunch was western Asian food. Terrible trip, don’t waste your money. When I highlighted this to tour company it was disregarded . Feel totally cheated

Great our despite the rain

Weather aside this was a great tour. It rained most of the day so the visibility was terrible. Despite it all everyone made the best of it. The buffet lunch was very good! Our guide Meg was an absolute delight! Highly recommend and hope the weather cooperates for you!

Please make sure you check the weather and that it’s gonna be clear near Mount Fuji. We booked this trip and the tour Company knew it was raining and snowing in Mount Fuji and move forward with a tour anyway. We arrived there and we were not able to even get out of the bus. The entire day was a disaster, the lunch was absolutely awful and the boat ride was inside because it was pouring down rain. The highlight of the day was the bullet train ride back to Tokyo. The tour company should’ve canceled the trip knowing the weather was not gonna cooperate with us having a great experience especially paying over $350 for this tour for two people. They proceeded with the tour anyway and all we did was sit in a bus watch it snow and rain and we’re not able to enjoy any of the sites for over 10 hours.

Tsubasa was such a pleasant guide. He made the bus ride go by quickly with his great commentary. He made it clear that there is no guarantee you will see the mountain. There are only approximately 100 visible days per year. Thankfully, we were able to see the mountain when we were near the summit. The restaurant we went to for lunch was good, but not Japanese. The food offered was more of an Indian influence. The cable car ride over the sulfur vents was very interesting.

Very expensive. when you only have a 30% chance of seeing Mt Fuji!!!

This was the most expensive trip we paid for while staying in Tokyo and at £270.26, this was not good value!!! The first place we stopped at was just a glorified shopping centre. The gondola ride was ok, but due to cloud we could not see anything nor could we see Mt Fuji. The boat ride was OK, but the real highlight was the bullet train, which I could of done at a fraction of the price!!!

What a great tour we had with the fabulous tour guide Lovely. Very fortunate to have her a second time! Again very knowledgeable and passionate with what she does. While a long day experiencing so much it went very quickly. The buffet lunch was very good in a fabulous setting. The highlight however was Mt Fuji!

Lacking in customer service

Well we didnt manage to see Mt Fuji or go on the pirate ship which are both the only reason I booked this. We went on a ferry type boat on Lake Ashi. The guide Mai was lovely but, it's a big but, I was left behind on the boat after I took a visit to the bathroom and I wasnt allowed off because boat had started it's reversal to carry on to the next stop. When I reached last stop and spoke the the people who worked there and they phoned the guide up I was told I would have to find my own way back to Tokyo as they wouldn't be picking me up from last stop which by the way want far around the lake. I don't think it's good practice to leave a 68 year old solo female traveller in a foreign country who doesn't speak the language and to make my own way back to Tokyo, If it hadn't been for the ferry staff who put me on the bus to the train station I don't know what I would have done. I had also left my backpack on the coach so the guide Mai ended up waiting for me when an almost 2 hour very slow local bus dropped me at the station. Not impressed with the company" Japan Panoramic Tours" and would suggest to anyone wanting to do a simtrip to choose a different one.

Disappointing

Do not be surprised if you do not see Mt Fuji. We could see no sign of it whatsoever. Our guide and driver were great but the lunch was terrible. The cable car trip and boat cruise were boring. The bullet train trip back to Tokyo was a highlight.

Fuji day trip

The tour was well organized and our guide Lovely was super good. However not reaching station 5 on Fuji was disappointing. Also the waiting in long lines for attractions was frustrating and not having a reserved Shinkansen ticket back to Tokyo spoiled the whole bullet train experience.

Do NOT Book THIS TOUR or with Viator!

We were at the location 10 minutes prior to meeting time - 7:10am. However, we waited till 8:30 am but to a no show on the tour guide. We did not see anyone and we did not receive a call. I looked at the ticket but there was no way to contact them. I contacted Viator and they told me that there is nothing they can do as the tour company will not give me another booking or refund the money. My question - how is this our fault? I could not contact the tour company as their number is not on the booking. But we are ones Lisa g US$360.00. Viator apparently also thinks it’s my responsibility. So, my conclusion is this - I will NOT be booking on anymore tours on Viator. There are many tour operators out there. Consumers do NOT have to tolerate the little help that Viator has provided, which is NOTHING.

Very enjoyable tour of Hakone and nearby spots

Due to weather conditions, this tour had many diversions from the original itinerary and we saw partial views of mount fuji earlier in the day. Nevertheless, Mai-san did an excellent job managing the group, and keeping everyone on track. It was a complex plan involving boating on the lake, ropeway, etc. and she kept everyone on time and together. Lunch was good and the best part of the journey was the Shinkansen on the way back, which saved us two hours or more. Very nice tour and Mai-san is a very sweet person, who is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Mt Fuji Day Trip

Had a great time with the Mt Fuji day trip. Trip started about 8am from a central meeting point. Our guide that day was Kazu. He was very informative, funny and engaging throughout the day. I would highly recommend a trip with him. Due to weather conditions on Mt Fuji, we couldnt get to the 5th station location so the alternative location was Oshino Hakkai village. Although i would have loved to be closer, i understood that the time of year i was visiting might have some challenges to getting close but honestly the views of Mt Fuji from the village were still awesome and beautiful. Next the Hakone Ropeway which was fun cable car experience that gave great views of the sulphur craters. Then the pirate ship on Lake Ashi. Not sure why a pirate ship theme but Lake Ashi is beautiful and loved seeing the Torii Gates as we passed by. Then the Shinkansen/Bullet train home. This was a great intro to the Bullet train experience that we would do later again in our travels. I think we were back at Tokyo Station by about 6p. All in all, this experience was a great way to see some sights in Japan.

Disappointed

We did not get yo go on the cable car as queues too long . We got an 800yen voucher to spend st a souvenir shop hardly comparable to the cable car experience I did this trip with other friends 2 years ago and the cable car was a highlight. Getting to spend 800 yen in a souvenir shop hardly the same experience and very disappointing. S as lap on both yours I have done it says return bus to Tokyo but on both yours anyone who hadn’t all ready booked the bullet rain return had yo pay extra yo get back on either a local or bullet train this should be advertised upfront. On both trips people were told traffic too heavy up be able to take bus back. Poor advertising
