This tour of a historically and achaelogically significant site in St. Petersburg, on the waterfront, is well-worth the cost and time. David, the grandson of the owner of this private property, is so knowledgeable about the history, archeology, and botany, he blew me away! As a long-time resident of St. Petersburg, I didn't think there was much left that was untouched by development. This Tour proved me wrong!

Pinellas county/Florida history tour of family owned historic site. I’ve done this tour 3 times now and learn something new every time. Dave is a wealth of information on local and Florida history.

David was an amazing expert at Florida history! He took just the two of us on a detailed tour of the St. Petersburg Jungle Prada Site. It was so beautiful, and he sure had a lot of information about Florida and the Seminoles as well as its exploration from even before the 1500s. It was so good, and David was so nice. The peacocks were an added bonus.
Sylvia_K, Feb 2026
Fascinating site with lots of history. The guide packed in stories and information non stop while we walked the grounds. And the peacocks were in full display.
Steve_D, Feb 2026

David as our tour guide was so knowledgeable. This is a family owned historical site and his passion was very evident. Tour was 90 minutes and worth every penny!

David is so very informative and entertaining. A wonderful history tour made even more interesting by the fact that this land is owned by 3 generations, David being the grandson. This was our second visit, so we could share with our son.
Claudia_G, Feb 2026
It was my second visit, this time bringing friends so that they could experience it. As other reviews say, David is excellent. He is highly educated about the history of the area. He is friendly and makes the tour fun for all ages. He is honest about the archeological aspects of the site. The historical importance of this site is interesting even if you aren’t a history buff. Don’t miss this inexpensive and enjoyable educational experience.

It is informative and entertaining. David, the tour guide, is very knowledgeable and engaging. The site is fascinating, and the generosity of the Anderson family in preserving it is laudable!

This tour was excellent! His knowledge and memory for interesting dates, names and historical happenings makes this a must see for everyone!
Susan_S, Jan 2026
This tour is with a guide whose family purchased this archeological site decades ago to protect it from developers. His historical knowledge and love of the area is so apparent. We learned about the local Indian tribe the Tocobagas- the Spanish met them in the 1500's. We learned about plants, about pirates, about the development of St Petersburg. And on top of it all there are peacocks!
VidhyaBharathi_M, Dec 2025
Great tour! The place was very beautiful and we got to know the history of Tocobaga mounds and explore the remains. Our guide's passionate storytelling (as a third-generation owner) made this tour really enjoyable!

David’s the best tour guide. Super knowledgeable and tells a great story of the history of jungle Prada, the native Americans and facts about local stuff that I found very interesting as a Saint pete native. The location itself is just so beautiful with all the plants and David also knows a lot about that stuff too. Cant recommend this tour enough 10/10.
