Very confusing info to start trip and download app. Thought we had to pick up a device. Took about an hour walking around and calling company to figure out you download to phone and and mall area was just starting point. The actual download was fine.

I can understand how that would throw you off. If you’re expecting to pick something up in person and instead it’s a phone download, that first hour can feel frustrating. Sedona doesn’t require any device pickup, everything runs through the app once it’s downloaded to your phone, and the mall area is just one of the route starting points.
I’m glad once you got past that hurdle the actual download went smoothly. We’ll keep working to make that first step clearer so no one wastes time at the beginning of their day.

maybe it was the low connectivity in the area, but we found the app to be not reliable. we wanted to go to an area near where we were staying first, but it always started the conversation with a location far away from us. it did not have a narrative that went with the location we were at.

Shaka Guide isn’t instant or real-time turn-by-turn like Google Maps, it’s an audio guide that plays stories and directions as you follow the predesigned tour route and you get close to each point along the way.

Easy enough to purchase and set up, but totally useless once you try to use it. The "start point" location directions were very vague, as was everything after that. We finally gave up and found our own way around. I guess the only saving grace was it was only $15, so no major loss.

Difficult downloading; wasn't sure if I did it properly. The order time...then payment time...wasn't sure if I had it done correctly before we left on our trip. We got busy in Sedona and never tried it / used it. Oh well...

It was better than spending a great deal of money on a tour. There was so much more too see and so many places to stop and visit. So much history of the area and great hints of what to do when you stop. The gps tour gives you plenty of time to plan your stop . Do you want to see that spot or do you want continue with the tour to another spot

It didn’t work. No voice. Hard to download. A complete waste of time and money. Will not try an online tour in the future

Be sure to get it all set up in your car and utilize the power cord- allow location settings and use the Shaka guide app.
Once you are all set up- it is fantastic and we enjoyed a beautiful day at our own pace.
The narrator tells stories of history, gives great directions and gives you options of sites.
We will 100% utilize a program like this again as we travel.

Not very user friendly. Unlike other GPS guided tours, it had a hard time identifying where you were at at wouldn’t play at the correct spots. With the windy roads, and the fact you were driving, you couldn’t mess with the app to make it work.

This experience never happened! We purchased this same day, but the directions to the meeting place told us to actually go to a location - which we did, at the address provided. They knew nothing about it. When I spoke to this vendor, they said it was a downloadable audio. I would have been okay with it, but we never were able to access it. What a disappointing waste!
